Chapter 7 Depression And Chronic Pain

Anyone who has suffered with chronic pain, the pain that becomes your life partner and then stabs you in the back, knows how easily it becomes to fall into a really bad depression. The pain that never quits leaves you wondering if living is as great at you thought it was. Depression just gets in line and follows the pain leader down that lonely road. Believe me, I’ve been on that road and it’s a mean, dead-end.

Pain is a normal. It’s a bad sensation triggered by your brain to let you know there is something wrong and you need to do something about it. Chronic pain is different. It stays with you and makes itself at home. Pain signals keep firing at you for weeks, months, and maybe years. This is caused by many illnesses such as arthritis, cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel, spinal degeneration, and so many more. Pain is the not same for everyone. It can last for months or last a lifetime. It takes a toll, both physically and emotionally. It can lead to depression, anxiety, anger, insomnia, and irritability. Some chronic pain sufferers cannot work or even do the pleasurable things they used to do. It can cause problems in relationships. Everyone who is around the person with chronic pain suffers. It can lead to the over use of drugs and alcohol. Chronic pain is toxic and can ruin your life.

There may have been an accident which s tarted if off, an auto accident perhaps with sprained back or neck injury. Most chronic pain sufferers tend to be in the older age group. You have chronic complaints such as low back pain, headaches, nerve pain, sciatic pain and many more. And the real kick in the head is that your doctors don't really get that concerned about your pain. They worry about prescribing heavy medications which they have to explain about prescribing to government offices. So doctors tend to turn a blind eye and deaf ear your way.

There are many treatments around for chronic pain. There are pain medications, acupuncture, electric stimulation treatments, and even surgery. So often you keep getting referred off to yet another specialist who runs tests, shakes his head, and says there is just so much that can be done. Some must suffer – so they say.

Over 70 million people a year suffer with chronic pain and if you are a member of this group, you aren't a happy camper. I have had a chronic pain problem for several years and I know the run around involved. Doctors want to turn away from this problem because there are no tests to prove your pain and no quick way to fix you up and make you happy. They look at you as a 'chronic' who can't be satisfied with the relief you get.

You can get to the point where you look around and think that nobody understands what you are going through and doesn't care anyway. This is a good breeding group for the depression soldiers to march right in and claim you. At one time I was prescribed s o many medications from a doctor at a pain clinic that I couldn't think straight. I wrote a check for $800 for an $80 bill. Then when I could not deal with being this disjointed, I went off them. Once again I promptly became surrounded by pain and became depressed. I was very frustrated that there seemed to be no real effort to get me on the right combinations of medications which would let me continue to function.

Believe me; I know that anyone experiencing chronic pain can come to feel totally alone in the suffering. Sooner or later you will run into someone who questions that you could have that much pain. Your quality of life is changed dramatically. I was always a very athletic person who loved to be physically active. When I had to slow down I resented it because I was giving up a very important part of my life.

Salesletter In A Box PLR Software

Attention - After you read this page you will never have to spend a dime on a professional copywriter again... in...

"Write A Million-Dollar Sales Letter In Under 10 Minutes By Simply Filling In The Blanks!"

Save Time And Money By Firing Your Copywriter And Start Pumping Out Order Pulling Sales Letters Instantly!

A professionally written sales letter can quickly generate thousands of dollars in sales. On the other hand, if your sales letter stinks like a wet dog you can lose thousands of dollars in potential sales regardless of how good your product is.

After creating my first website it struggled to make even 1 sale a week. I received hundreds of visitors to my site each day, but made very few sales. I decided to crawl out on a ledge financially and hire a copywriter. What happened next shocked me...

My conversion rates skyrocketed. Sales didn't just double they flowed like an incoming ocean tide. I was generating sales daily instead of weekly. I learned the value of a professionally written sales page overnight with solid proof in my now bulging bank account.

Professional copywriters have mastered the art of getting website visitors to take their wallets out of their pockets and make the purchase. They use the hypnotic power of certain words to increase the perceived value of your product , causing people to take action.  This converts them from passive website visitors to hungry customers who cannot sleep until they have what you are offering!

"So, why not just hire a copywriter for all your websites?"

Good question...

Do you have tens of thousands of dollars laying around to hire a copywriter to write a sales letter for every product and website you build?

Copywriters are very expensive. You're going to pay a copywriter more money then you would pay a doctor or a lawyer!  Makes you want to become a copywriter huh? Some charge up to $25,000 for one sales letter!

Mr X Reveals All – First Ever Interview PLR Ebook

Let me explain to you how it came about - I was shown an internet business by a colleague of mine that was making a heck of a lot of money, and I realized that I could do this myself.

Quite cheeky I know - so after some research I took the same business model, made some small adjustments to suit my product, wrote the sales copy, and the rest is history.

My business partner and I at the time actually started with two phone lines, two pen and pads on our lap, and that was it.

We had one tiny second hand computer that we bought from a local computer store. We had no credit card processing - when I look back now, I just can't believe how the business took off.

Okay - timing, it was important because it was around the time of the dot com bubble. Everybody wanted to get online, but the business model I'd really just taken and adapted from somebody else’s business model.

There's an old saying isn't there - if it ain’t broke don't fix it. If you find a good business model do what I do - look at it, think "yeah, that's working - I can maybe put a little tweak here and there".

I'm not saying outright copy somebody else’s business, but take their model if it's working. That's what I did - I took this business model that I saw was working, and working very well, but I knew by adding a few little tweaks here and there, I could possibly make it work better, and that's exactly what happened.

And the phone started ringing, and again we advertised offline. The phone started ringing Thursday lunchtime - the publication came out on the Thursdays...… And it just went absolutely crazy.

We sent people to the website to read the copy that we put up there. We didn't have any way of taking any money - we weren't taking any credit cards at the time, we were just asking people to send us checks, postal orders, cash in registered envelopes ... it just came flooding through the door.

And that was in the October - by February or March time we had a staff of four, and we were turning over $100,000 a month easily, with the majority of that being profit.

How To Create A Web Site – Non Techie Guide Personal Use Ebook

Web pages are very flexible. They're pretty much like your Word processor document. You'll notice that when you decrease the size of your window, the text in your word processor will automatically re-flow so that you can still see all the text. Though convenient for a word processor, this flexibility can destroy your web page layout.

Without any form of control, your text and images can reposition themselves as your visitors change the size of their browser window. Your carefully laid out design could easily be distorted.

If you were to write out a paragraph into your web page, and open it in your browser, you will see the words start from the left edge of your browser to the right edge and continue on from the left edge of the next line (see image below). Someone could easily strain their eyes just trying to read your paragraph.

What you need is to lay the page out in a way that would be more attractive plus easier on the eye. The easiest way to go about this is to use a table. Yup!

The simple ole table. Sorry to disappoint you, if you were expecting something more "hi-tech". Actually, the best way to layout a web page is to use CSS (cascading style sheets). But CSS requires you to learn some coding which is not covered in this course. The second best thing is to use tables. Tables are much easier for a novice to master. So for now, tables it is.

How To Interpret Your Dreams MRR Ebook

Children, especially, are prone to nightmares. Nightmares are common in children, typically beginning at around age 3 and occurring up to age 7-8. People with anxiety disorder might also experience what experts term "night terrors". These are actually panic attacks that occur in sleep. It is especially difficult to remember these types of dreams since they conjure up terrifying images that we would just as soon forget.

In poetic myth, the Nightmare is actually a "small nettlesome mare, not more than thirteen hands high, of the breed familiar with the Elgin marbles: cream-colored, clean-limbed, with a long head, bluish eye, flowing mane and tail."Her nests, called mares‘ nests, "when one comes across them in dreams, lodged in rock-clefs or the branches of enormous hollow yews, are built of carefully chosen twigs lined with white horse-hair and the plumage of prophetic birds and littered with the jaw-bones and entrails of poets."

Thus, in a pagan world of myth and blood sacrifice, the Nightmare was a cruel, fearful creature. Our modern word nightmare derives from the Middle English nihtmare (from niht, night, and mare, demon), an evil spirit believed to haunt and suffocate sleeping people. And so, in today‘s world, when we speak of a nightmare we mean a frightening dream accompanied by a sensation of oppression and helplessness.

The blood-thirsty aspect of the mythic Nightmare, however, can give a good clue about nightmares in general, for in psychodynamic terms nightmares are graphic depictions of raw, primitive emotions such as aggression and rage that have not been incorporated into the conscious psyche. Thus we tend to encounter these "ugly" aspects of our unconscious lives as terrifying dream images in whose presence we feel completely helpless.

Nightmares are quite common in childhood because this is a time of our emotional development when we all have to come to terms with, well, raw, primitive emotions such as aggression and rage.

Traumatic nightmares can also occur as one of the many symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Repetitive, intrusive nightmares following a trauma often contain symbolic themes that mirror the original trauma and relate to threat to life, threat of abandonment or death, or loss of identity.

Therefore, traumatic nightmares need to be treated differently than other dreams. It‘s not enough just to "know" intellectually the psychological reasons why you have these nightmares. An event is traumatic because it disrupts your previously secure—and illusory—sense of "self." And so, to heal from a trauma, you must take the initiative to make conscious changes in your life to accommodate the traumatic shattering of your illusions about life and identity.

How does the PPC advertising model compare with the famous affiliate model?

Affiliate Advertising Vs. PPC Advertising!

PPC is an online advertising model where publishers/site owners like you make money every time a PPC advertising link is clicked by a site visitor.

Whereas with affiliate programs/advertising/promotions you only make money when a sale is generated, PPC makes you money per visitor click.

Let's compare:

Affiliate Advertising Process

1. Visitor clicks on your affiliate link.
Note: Visitor needs to use your affiliate link as is, without deleting your affiliate ID :)

2. Visitor goes to a destination page, like a sales letter.

3. Visitor clicks the order button.

4. Visitor takes out his credit card and places the order.

5. You make money; affiliate commissions.

Joint Venture Secrets Resale Rights Ebook

Ebook Sample Content Preview:

And on that note I reckon it's time for that story I promised a little earlier on, about a guy that approached me some time ago with a joint venture offer. It was possibly the worst attempt I'd ever seen, but I'd like to give you a little idea of what you're up against. How not to do things, and what you're capable of now you have the information in these reports, compared to this guy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting you've ever done anything like this at all. This is the harshest example that I can remember. Have a little fun, and take everything you've learned in this report and pick this story to pieces. Here's a real life example of a joint venture approach. What can you spot that he's done wrong?

So here’s me, sitting at my computer in the late evening, listening to my relaxing ambient music, while at the same time briefing a freelance programmer on some work I wanted doing to some affiliate software. From nowhere, up pops a message through my instant messenger "Hello". Now, I don't like to give out my IM addresses to just anyone, I generally keep them to the people I know or have had previous joint ventures with.

Anyway the conversation started with me trying to figure out who this was "Sorry do I know you?". "No" came the reply. "Ok, are you one of my customers?". "Yes". Jackpot, so this is a customer of mine that somehow managed to get a hold of my instant messenger handle. Not a problem. I politely requested that if he has a problem to submit a ticket. "Oh no, I'm not here for that, I wanted to ask you to do something for me". Ok now we're getting somewhere. "Right ok, what's that?" I replied. "Well, I'm launching a new website and wondered if you would promote for me".

At this point I thought hey, joint venture offer. Strange approach but I have half an hour before heading out with a few friends. It's a rare ‘not busy’ moment for me now I'm done with the programmer so I'll hear him out. Normally I wouldn't have had the time. I would have apologized and asked him to e-mail me but it was just a lucky break for him.

So he proceeds to send me to this website. It didn't look too bad at first glance, but after reading the sales letter, something jumped out at me. I recognize this. I asked him when he wrote the product, which happened to be a very basic marketing training guide. He told me, in a round about way, that he didn't write it at all. It was a re-sell product from the late nineties, not even a re-brandable one.

Yikes, ok this is where I start to back away. So the best way I know how I tell him, sorry no can do, and of course, why. The reason, this time around, was because he had a weak product. To be honest, with his indirect hidey type approach, that took fifteen minutes longer to explain than it should have, he was lucky to get this far and even get my attention, or anybody else’s for that matter. However, I'm a patient guy.

Anyway, off I go thinking no more of the encounter. I return home, have some food, grab forty winks and jump online again to meet the programmer who I'd arranged to talk to later that day. By this point it was about three in the morning. On goes the computer, on goes the messenger, and take a guess what pops up. "Hello". Uh oh. "I wonder if you've reconsidered my offer". Well I hadn't to be honest. "No sorry, the product isn't strong enough".

Alright so granted his product wasn't strong enough, and the approach he used wasn't exactly to his advantage, but if those two factors had been all present and correct, would I have said yes? Not likely. Where's the evenness, the give and take of it all? He's given me nothing at all that I would want in return. It was clear he hadn't planned this well. I couldn't resist it. Out came a little friendly advice.

"Look man, I'll be honest. If you want to secure a joint venture like this with someone, you need to offer them something in return. A bit of give and take ya know?". Big mistake. "But I want you to be my marketing manager". The phrase which would eventually become the bane of my existence that week. He proceeded to tell me that he'd give me a dollar per sale on his fifty dollar product, which would go up to four dollars if I sold over a hundred copies.

So not only was his product dodgy and something I wouldn't recommend, and not only would he not even give me it to see (He pointed me to the order link at the bottom of the page when I asked), but he was offering me the worst possible commissions ever. Everything about this deal is totally negative and a huge no. After a week of him messaging me every time I got online telling me "I want you to be my marketing manager" he was blocked, and it's safe to say I'll not be doing business with him anytime in the near future.
