I remember a birthday party I went to as a child. There was a contest that involved looking at a table covered in 15 various items. After a few minutes, the things were taken away, and then we each got a piece of paper and a pencil. The object was to write down as many items as we could remember. I struck out after seven or eight, but one little boy got all 15 items, and won the prize.

Only years later did I learn why he was able to do that. His father had taught him a simple technique that none of us other kids knew. All you have to do is tie the items together in an imaginative story. Imagine, for example, that you want to remember a list of the following things: milk, soap, forks, honey, and flowers.

Create a story, and see it vividly in your head: You are in front of the bathroom sink, and you reach for the soap. The soap dish is filled with milk, so you wash your hands with that, then comb honey into your hair with a fork, pick up a bouquet of flowers and smile at yourself in the mirror. Say each item as you review this "movie" in your imagination, and you'll remember all five things, even the next day.

Some Other Memory Tricks

Start telling yourself to remember. If you just learned a person's name, for example, tell yourself, "remember that". This signals the unconscious mind to rank this input higher in importance.

Tell yourself why you want to remember something, and how you will remember it. To remember a person, think about how that person will be important to you in the future, where you'll see them next, and anything you notice about them. Clearly seeing the importance of remembering will help a lot, and the additional associations (where you expect to see the person next, for example) will set the memory more firmly in your brain.

Have you ever forgotten where you set down your car keys? You have probably tried retracing your steps, or at least doing it in your imagination. This works fairly well, but do you ever create the scenario beforehand, so you won't forget? Try it. When you set down the keys on the chair, see yourself walking in and setting the keys on the chair. You'll remember where they are if you do this.

Create Good Memory Habits

Do you know what the biggest problem with memory techniques is? Remembering to use them. No joke. Many popular methods work, but if you don't have the habit of using them, you'll forget to when you need them most. So if you take the time to learn a technique, make a conscious effort to use it until it becomes automatic.

If your home has single-pane windows, as almost half of U.S. homes do, consider replacing them. New doublepane windows with high-performance glass (e.g., low-e or spectrally selective) are available on the market.

In colder climates, select windows that are gas filled with low emissivity (low-e) coatings on the glass to reduce heat loss. In warmer climates, select windows with spectrally selective coatings to reduce heat gain. If you are building a new home, you can offset some of the cost of installing more efficient windows because doing so allows you to buy smaller, less expensive heating and cooling equipment.

You could either link to their content or ask to republish the content on your web site, in your free e-zine, in your free e-course, in your free ebook, etc.

Design A Web Site For Someone Else You could create a web site template that has affiliate links of popular, well-selling, well-paid products/programs, as well as one for your own product. Allow people to brand the template with their own links on it. You could also allow them to sign up under you for the two-tier and multi-level programs. They would have a fully designed professional-looking web site to up load to their own server and you would have free publicity and a chance to make extra money off the sub affiliates and down-line members. If they don't have web hosting already, you could recommend one to them for residual income or commission. (I know someone who is making a killing using this idea.)

Publish An Affiliate Newsletter For Someone Else You could publish a free e-zine for others that has content and advertises MLM/affiliate programs in it. They would promote your e-zine and you would brand it with their affiliate links in each issue for the people they directly get to subscribe to the e-zine. You could build you list fast and other people will have their own e-zine without all the work.

Create An Autoresponder Course For Someone Else You could create an autoresponder that has content and many MLM/affiliate links on it and some of your own product links. You could allow people to brand the autoresponder with their own links on it. You could also allow them to sign up under you for the two tier and multi-level programs. They would have an autoresponder course to use with their auto responder service and you would have free publicity and a chance to make extra money from your sub affiliates and down-line members. If they don't have their own autoresponder service already, you could recommend one to them for residual income or commission.

Joined Back-End Marketing Effort Allow another similar business to sell your product as a back-end product and ask them to allow you to sell their product as a back-end product. You both would keep 100% of the profits, and get added exposure through the other person.

Contest Prizes For Free Publicity Ask other business to donate their products for prizes in exchange for some free publicity. You could also ask the businesses to promote and advertise the free contest to increase the number of entrees You could also start an opt-in list for people who enter your contest or sweepstakes so you can follow-up with them regularly.

Free Publicity For Being A Expert Guest You could contact online and off-line radio stations offering your expertise to their listeners in exchange for free publicity. Tell them your area of expertise; maybe they'll book you for a show. Of course you would want to contact targeted stations and shows whose listeners would have a use for your advice.
