Some of the most highly-paid copywriters, don't create their powerful (and expensive) sales materials from scratch. Nope. That would take too much time and too much effort! They simply "steal" brilliant marketing ideas and sales materials that have worked well in the past.

They 'steal' and borrow from tested ideas and ads that have actually pulled in millions of dollars. They just "recycle" what has been proven to work instead of wasting time on creating new stuff that could very easily fail.

Yes, that also means that some of the best marketers and copywriters can still create projects that fail at times. No one is exempt from failure. That's why they're smart enough to borrow from their past successes - to increase their chances of future successes.

So…how can you use this strategy in your business?

Well, first of all, let me make it very clear that I'm not asking you to copy other people's work word-for-word! That can get you into a lot of legal trouble (and it's also wrong, ethically.) When I say "steal," what I really mean is "model" after a successful ad or site.

Start by searching for the top moneymakers in your field/niche. Just go to the popular search engines, like google.com and search for the product that you're selling.

Example: If you're selling calculators, search for web sites of the top calculator sellers and look at their site. Study the format and layout of their site, study the sales letter. Then, "model" your site after those successful sites.

But, how can you tell whether a particular site is successful or not? If it's a well-known company that is obviously doing very well with their product, you can usually assume they have pretty good sales copy.

However, if you're not sure whether a particular site/salespage is worth copying, simply read it. That is the best test of good sales copy. If by reading the page, it convinces you to buy the product, or persuades you enough to at least consider checking the product out, you can bet it's a great sales letter.

Not only is this the fastest way to create your own sales letter, it is also a sure-fire way of dramatically increasing your chances of success. When you model past, proven sales models, you are usually guaranteed the same or similar levels of success.

Imagine having a sales letter that is converting one out of every 100 web visitors into buying customers. That means, out of every 100 people that visit your site, one of them buys from you.

Give away a free sample of your product. You will gain people's trust when you allow them to try out a free sample of your product. If they like it they won't hesitate buying it. Your sample should only give them a small taste of what's in it for them if they buy.

Offer a buy-one, get-one-free deal. If you sell more than one product, this type of deal works great. People will feel they are getting more for their money and will order quicker. You could also offer them a ‘buy one, get one half’, ‘buy two, get the third one free’, ‘buy two, get a free watch’, etc.

Increase the number of visitors who revisit your web site by publishing a free course right on your site. Just release a new lesson once a week. You could even offer a live chat room class every week or a class published on autoresponder.

Make sure your graphics load correctly on your web site. Broken graphics will make your business look very unprofessional. That also goes for broken links and slow loading graphics. People can find other web sites to visit with a click of a mouse.

Avoid using scrolling marquees on your web site. They take the attention away from your ad copy and make your web page load slower. Just type the message on your web site. You can highlight it with flashing, color or bigger text.

Now here is the fun part! Advertising your PPCSE on a budget.

I'm going to tell you straight out, the best way to get new advertiser, new general visitors is to give away free accounts, or free credit with your search engine.

Whether that is a few dollars, or $100, it all counts.

Another idea is to have a free trial period where all accounts are free for the first month, and then you make them pay for their listings the next month. If they were happy with the results they were getting, then they will stay.

But there are two battles for a starting PPCSE. Getting just normal visitors that are there to search and of course the advertisers. Both are just as important as the other.

Just because non-advertisers are not lining your pocket with money, doesn't mean you can neglect them. Without them, you have a useless search engine and advertisers will pull out quicker then you can say Mississippi.

However, when you run a specialty PPCSE, you don't get as many advertisers, but what you do get is larger sums of money. So, please for the love of god, do not treat advertisers like they are a dime a dozen.

If they need help setting up their account, HELP THEM ANYWAY POSSIBLE! When they are happy, you are happy, that is your motto. Running a PPCSE is really a people person job and while I doubt you will ever see one of your advertisers face to face, you need to have great customer service.

Now, we have come to an interesting part of writing your sales letter where the champs love to express themselves and the chumps wish there was no such thing as writing a sales letter.

I once heard the speaker at a Network Marketing seminar say, “Talk with personality”. When you compose your sales letter, write with personality. Don’t write a stiff sales letter! Not only will it be boring, your prospects would not likely buy from you – unless they have got no personality, too.

Birds of a feather flock together. If you are fun and easy-going person, express yourself in such a manner in your sales letter. Be friendly and approachable. If you are serious person, you write in a serious manner (but not too serious, it might just sell people away from your web page, and it is cheaper that way).

Remember that attract people of the same kind. If you have to take a personality test on the Internet, please do. It will be worth your time!

Write casually. You may be in business but the key here is to write an informal letter. Address your prospects with “Dear Friend” and not “Dear Sir”.

Be personal and find how you can relate yourself to your prospects. If you are a break dance enthusiast, you can relate to your prospects your first six months of snapping every bone in your body before getting the power moves down.
