The main question you want to ask yourself if you were to visit your blog is "What do I want people to do when they come to my site?"

It's a fairly simple question depending on what your aspirations are regarding blogging. Do you just want your voice to be heard or do you want to make a sale? You can do both! Write content which you feel people might be interested in and try to pitch a sale at the same time. But there's a smart way to go about it.

It's never a good idea to cheapen your blog and just throw ads, banners and links in the face of your visitor, hoping they'll click through and buy something hence making you money. It's always a better idea to create valuable content and gain a trust amongst your visitors to the point where they'll think you're an expert or knowledgeable about your niche and will keep coming back to read more of what you have to post. And from there they will interact with you through the comments, leading to a relationship. Simply put, treat your visitors well.

You're in it for the long haul and to have money coming in daily, not just to make a quick buck and fold your blog after a month. Furthermore, Google loves unique content and over time your blog will gain popularity and drive itself further up the rankings for your keywords through longevity and consistent posting. You ever notice how it's usually the oldest sites that are at the top of the Google listings? It takes time and effort to get to the top of Google. Quantity and quality is key! Good content, lots of content and you'll be rewarded with more traffic. More traffic means more interested visitors who care about your opinions which means more potential to make money!

As shown in a previous chapter, if you are using AdWords as your primary PPC advertising channel, you can establish the average cost per click that you will have to pay for any particular keyword phrase in your advertising using the tools provided by Google.

However, you should note that this is an average and that the price you will pay can vary a great deal from these figures, so you have to put a sensible bid management strategy in place before starting to bid.

As a general rule, there are a couple of different bidding options favored by different marketers that you might like to try and test.

The first option is to start with bids at or very near the average prices indicated for the keyword phrase upon which you are focused. In this way, you attain an average page position which should be good enough to launch a campaign without spending a great deal of money in the process.

However, the effectiveness of this strategy will to some extent depend upon how competitive your market is.

If for example you are competing in a market where there are dozens or perhaps even hundreds of PPC advertisers clamoring for position on the search results pages, doing this is likely to position your advert on the fifth or sixth results page, which is effectively nowhere.

If on the other hand the competition is not too hot, then the situation could well be reversed, so the effectiveness is likely to be dependent upon the competitive nature of the market.

In contrast, many other marketers suggest that you should start every new advertising campaign by bidding 'top dollar' for your keywords to get the campaign off to a 'big' start, before reining back on bid levels a week or two later once you have established conversion rates, return on investment and so on.

This strategy often makes a great deal of sense, if for no other reason than the most obvious which is that you are advertising to generate profits as quickly as possible, and this is the best way of doing so.

If you bid big and thereby attain a top slot on the search page, you can immediately establish how effective the adverts that you have created are because they will be featured at or near the top of the search results pages. If your advert is not successful when it is featured this prominently, there is obviously a problem with your advert, so changes need to be made after testing in any of the ways previously highlighted.

Another consideration that is extremely relevant if you're using Google is that Quality Score is generally believed to be heavily dependent upon your conversion rates.

Obviously, you would expect to achieve a much higher conversion rate if your ad was appearing in the number one or two slot on the search page rather than in the 21st position. Thus, by bidding big in the early days, you take a significant step towards improving your quality score.

If you are an irritable bowel syndrome sufferer, it is instinctively obvious that your diet plays a major factor in deciding how well or how sick you feel on any given day.

Consequently, it is likely that you have already searched for appropriate dietary information, details of the foods that you can and cannot eat that can help you to reduce the number of attacks you suffer as an irritable bowel syndrome sufferer. If so, I would wager that you have been somewhat disappointed with most of the information you have found because from my own research, I have found most of the information available to be vague, generalized and often little more than a wild stab in the dark at what might or might not work.

For example, you may have seen general advice that a high fiber diet or a diet that is rich in vegetables is good for someone who suffers from IBS. Whilst this might be true for a small percentage of sufferers, it is likely to be very small percentage indeed. A high fiber diet is the last thing you need if your condition is one where diarrhea or both diarrhea and constipation are present. Furthermore, if eating vegetables is a good idea, what kind of vegetables should they be?

One of the problems seems to be that the majority of IBS sufferers know that there are certain foods which irritate them and certain foods that they can eat almost every day without any problems whatsoever. However, in between these two categories, there are many foodstuffs that irritable bowel syndrome patients can eat one day, but not the next.

This leads to a good degree of confusion and a certain lack of clarity because there seems to be no logic in a scenario where you can eat something one day but not the next. Hence, some sufferers spend many fruitless hours trying to come up with a list of specific foods that cause them problems, whereas a lot of the time, compiling a list of this nature is almost impossible.

Allied to this is the fact that because irritable bowel syndrome is not one recognizable disease or condition, every individual sufferer is different. It might therefore be valid to ask, is there such a thing as a generalized IBS diet that will help at least the majority of sufferers, if not all of them?
