In this section, we will think more broadly about what it means to create a “winning phrase.” Instead of restricting the class of these phrases to headlines, we will think about different items we might include in the body of a large piece of copy.

The types of phrases we will consider will range from pieces of copy designed to encourage people to read further to pieces of copy that are designed to encourage people to think harder and to reconsider their goals. Ultimately, all of these pieces can be used to construct a good salesletter and to convert visitors into buyers.

Phrases to Get Your Reader’s Attention

The acronym AIDA is used to used to instruct novice copywriters on how to do things right. The first component of AIDA is “attention.” This means that any good salespage should start by grabbing the attention of readers. Don’t allow them to drift away from your product before they ever get the chance to consider its features and benefits. Instead, grab their attention using some of the winning phrases below.

The first 3 days of follow-ups are designed to create the problem of “offline being disastrous”.

Now, you can see that's a really broad problem to deal with. I can fit nearly anything in there.

That's the sort of problem you'll want to start with for your follow-up. Convince your subscriber that the field they've chosen to get into is TOUGH.

Once you've done that, provide your product as the offer.

Of course, this doesn't just have to go with follow-ups, you can use this in single emails too.

One email of mine, subject line - “a BIG problem with offline clients”, went into details about how an offliner could ruin their chance of ever working in their town again if they made this one mistake...

I went on to a little over 20 units from that email. Of course that's when my list was fewer than 2,300 strong – so it was pretty good at the time.

Of course, it's very unlikely that this would actually happen to my subscribers... but it doesn't matter – they take what I say as truth.

This doesn't give you a license to lie to your list, but putting the worst scenario in front of them is perfectly acceptable.

Take some time to think about the problems in your niche.

It's cliché, but visit forums in your niche and keep an eye out for recurring problems. The more you can add to a list, the more content you'll have for future products.

One pitfall you'll need to watch out for is fixing the problem too early.

I often have to go back and edit because my emails tend to tell the reader how to solve their problem before they buy the product.

Don't do that though... Your product needs to be the solution to the problem.

Free content is great, but I run my list to make a living – so everything I send out has some sort of sale attached to it – even if it's just in an email sig.

One important thing to note...

Make sure that you are actually offering VALUE in your problem creation. If you can spot a pothole that your subscribers will be coming across sooner or later, it's valid.

By pinpointing these and showing your subs where they are, they'll come to love you and take your every word as truth.

Facebook has changed the appearance of their Business Pages, making them more in line with the recent changes to personal profiles, but they have added functionality that will make Page admins for companies cheer. Although these changes will officially take effect in March, but Page administrators can choose to upgrade now or at least preview the changes.

I. Publicly Identify Page Admin

One of the greatest benefits of social media is that it can humanize a company. There is no better manner to humanize a company than letting your customers, prospects and brand advocates know who they are communicating with online. The community managers have grown across social platforms, however, their identity has not been revealed on Facebook. It is now possible for you to choose showing the Admins or Page Owners on the left side, with links to their Facebook profiles.

II. Changing status as Person or Page

Another way to humanize your Business to Business company on Facebook is that you can now respond on your Page as yourself. Previously you could only reply as your company, but now you can participate in the conversation as yourself. Make sure you are clear that you represent the company and that you do not try to start conversations as just another fan of the Page.

III. Interacting as a Page on Facebook

Before this, you only had the option to participate in Facebook conversations, and like other Pages, with your personal profile. Now you can select ‘Use Facebook as [Page Name)’ and you can also post on others’ Pages as you can do it on your own Page. This is another reason of it being important to make your Page with your B2B company name, rather than a keyword-loaded descriptive name. You can also like other Pages as the Page you administer. This will create a news feed of the Pages you like. You will also get notifications when your Page is liked.

IV. Displaying Featured Favorite Pages

Once you have liked a page as your business page, you can also display your favorites. Not all favorites Pages need to be shown. Go to the Featured option and choose the pages you want to show on your page. Five will show at a given time, and will keep rotating. Use this if you have a main Page and sub-Pages for divisions, products or locations etc. You can also use this in order to bring to limelight certain customers, clients and other top companies in the industry.

V. Getting Notified about Posts and Comments

This is the biggest functional change of all. Now when others leave comments or post updates on your Business to Business Page, you get a notification by email. You also see the red indicator in the upper left corner, just like you have your personal profile. This will let you keep up with discussions on the pages you run. Note that these messages are sent to your main Facebook email, which might be your personal email address.

The desire for riches is nearly universal, and none may state it is not praiseworthy, provided the possessor of it accepts its obligations, and utilizes it as a friend to mankind.
