Chapter 7: Making The Most Of Promoted Posts

The promoted post option of advertising , also known as “boosting your post” , its done from your time line posts as a way of increasing the reach of your post.

Most Facebook Page owners will have noticed that there has been a dramatic reduction in their organic (non paid) reach and Facebook have admitted that this is very deliberate and that the best way to reach more of your fans is by advertising and posting the post you wish to reach more people.

There used to be a time that you would post a status update to your timeline and it would reach the majority of your fans, however Facebook has changed and now some page are reporting that their updates are reaching as few as 1 -3 % of their fans with the average reach sitting at around the 10% mark.

Therefore the best way for your status updates to reach more fans is by hitting the boost button and paying for your update to reach more users.

Your post can be boosted directly underneath the post itself or you can use Ad manager to boos the post their.

Its just as important to get the targeting correct with this type of ad as it is any of the others, and always double check the location as it is automatically set to Brazil, US and Mexico and obviously this isn't suitable for all businesses.

There are many reasons to choose to boost your post, it can be used to increase the number of likes a post has or to encourage users to comment or share your post.

The more interaction your fans have with your page the more relevant Facebook deem it to be and therefore the more people they will show it to.

Boosting your post lets you reach more people and therefore increase your brand awareness further, however if you are going to boost a post make sure its a status update worth boosting and once that helps get your business message and branding across, don't just boost any old post make sure you are selective about which ones you choose to boost.

Chapter 8: Running A Website Click Through Ad

This is a really popular Ad for marketers to run, its all about using Facebook to drive traffic towards your main website i.e. your money site.

It's perfect for driving traffic to your website or landing page allowing you to drive people to special offer or a blog post etc. that you really want them to see, by adding a conversion tracking pixel you will be able to track just how well your Ad is running.

You can set up a website click through ad using either Ad manager or Power editor. You just need to choose the clicks to website option and enter the URL that you want to advertise, then you set your ad the same way as before.

Remember to keep your Ad objective in mind when you are setting your targeting as it will be vital to your Ad's conversion rate, you don't want to end up with hardly any clicks and when people do click through you want the targeting to have been so good you know they will be interested in what your website page has to offer or say.

Therefore make sure you are sending your Facebook through to a website filled with quality content because there is no point in running a perfect Ad campaign for your website to let it down at the final hurdle!

Chapter 9: Using An Ad To Sell Products Or Services

This is one of the most popular Ad's to run on Facebook, and its the one most marketers would love to get right.

Its used to sell directly to potential customers, it doesn't need to be a paid product you are selling it could be a free give away that you are using to help you build your list.

There are different variations of this type of Ad that you can and as is the case with most forms of advertising it is vital that you track the results to make sure they are working for you or to make any changes that may be necessary,

SELLING YOUR PRODUCTS TO YOUR PAGE FANS

This is the type of Ad all marketers would love to get right yet it is in actual fact harder to achieve than some of the other forms of Facebook Advertising.

This isn't an Ad you would run continuously or you will risk leaving your fans feeling like they are always being sold to, so make sure you use it strategically perhaps when you have a product or service that you would like to promote.

You are selling to people who already are fans of your business and page, so you have that pre existing relationship there to help you with your campaign. They know you, they like what you have to say, they may have already bought from you previously.

However despite the pre existing relationship its still vital to get the targeting correct so don't feel like you can over look it just because you have perhaps already targeted them in order to get a like, you still need to be thorough when it comes to targeting this ad as well.

SELLING PRODUCTSTO YOUR EMAIL LIST

Once again the audience here is you email list, so this type of Ad will only work if you have a significant email list to sell to.

Its ideal for product launches as they are already on your list and have probably already been sent an email in relation to your products or services so by targeting them on Facebook you are just giving them another nudge in the right direction.

Obviously this is a highly targeted marketing strategy aimed at Facebook users you already have a connection with so this type of Ad should bring you excellent conversion rates.

AD SELLING TO NON FANS

With this type of selling Ad, you are targeting people who aren't yet fans of your page but who have an interest in your industry, products or services.

HIIT is a training program which minimizes time and equipment. Many of us are busy with our personal or business commitments and have lifestyles which don’t lend themselves to spending hours in the gym.
The specialized structure of a HIIT fitness program is designed to train both your aerobic and anaerobic energy systems by engaging brief intervals of high intensity exercise. Between the intervals, you have periods of low or moderate intensity levels of exertion.

So, you push yourself for hard for seconds or minutes and then level off to a less intense workout. In doing that, you’re keeping your heart rate up and your metabolism burning at a higher rate even after your exercise session is over.

HIIT challenges you to achieve your peak fitness in a way that helps you limit muscle loss and improve your endurance while transforming your body into a more athletic and healthy one.

“HIIT: The 60-Second Fat Burner,” covers everything you need to know about beginning a HIIT training program of your own. You’ll learn the benefits of HIIT compared to other training programs and to your overall health. You will want to try the HIIT approach to generating more long-term energy, losing weight and improving muscle tone. https://www.yoursite.com

Chapter 1: How HIIT Can Transform Your Body

If you’re looking for a workout that will melt fat leaving you with a lean and fit body in the shortest amount of time, HIIT is where you want to be. The main reason why HIIT has become a near frenzy for the past few years is because it really works.

HIIT is the best workout available for those who want to tone, burn fat and build muscle but don’t have a lot of time to devote to long gym workouts. It’s never boring because you can vary your workout routine from lifting weights to Zumba dancing.

Here are a few reasons why HIIT is the best workout to transform your body:

1. Fast and convenient – Do your exercises anywhere and in less than 30 minutes. Exercise sets may begin with 60 seconds of intense effort followed by 2 minutes of recovery.
2. Your metabolism keeps running – Even after your HIIT workout is over, you’ll still be burning fat for up to 48 hours after the routine.
3. Combines aerobic and anaerobic exercise benefits – You’ll enjoy the oxygen benefit that aerobic exercise provides and the benefit of building muscle mass with anaerobic exercises.
4. Increase cardiovascular health – It’s been proven that HIIT consisting of “brief and intense” exercise can lessen risk for cardiovascular disease.

You can take your cardio exercise sessions from the track to the swimming pool and everything in between – customizing the HIIT program until it fits what you like to do most. HIIT involves changing your pace at various points during the workout and using various workout methods.

You never get bored and your body doesn’t know what’s coming next, so virtually every muscle in your body gets used in the HIIT workout routine. If you’re looking for quality in a workout session, you won’t find any better than the HIIT method.

HIIT is one of the best kept secrets of professional athlete coaches. Now, you can work out like an athlete, getting the same results in the shortest amount of time.

The History and Concept of HIIT

The popularity of the HIIT workout began not too long ago at the beginning of the 2010s. The Tabata workout, which was part of a 1996 study by Professor Izumi Tabata, was an early version of the present HIIT program and was used to train Olympic speedskaters.

Another version of HIIT, the Peter Coe regimen was developed in the 1970s for his son, Sebastian. Coe’s exercise sessions involved 200 meter runs that were integrated with a 30-second recovery between each run. https://www.yoursite.com

The Gibala regimen originated by Professor Martin Gibala and his team in Canada was researched for several years and resulted in a 2011 paper. They touted the regimen as being a good option for less active people who may not have exercised for several years. The regimen included a short warm up, 10 repetitions at 60-second high intensity bursts of activity and 60 seconds of recovery followed by a cool-down lasting for five minutes.

A professor of biology at the University of Loughborough, Jamie Timmons, developed the Timmons regimen that included an exercise bike routine of two minutes of slow pedaling and 20 second bursts of fast cycling. Timmons advocated performing the regimen three times per week at a total of three minutes for the intense part of the exercise, plus a warm up and recovery.

How HIIT Works

No matter which regimen of HIIT you choose, you’re sure to get the results you want. The concept is simple. During exercise your body uses oxygen to create energy, but when you’re performing aerobic exercise the body’s demand for oxygen causes you to breathe faster to draw in more oxygen.

Aerobic exercises means your body requires more oxygen to create energy. Your muscles begin to burn and you have to make up for lack of oxygen after exercising.

The HIIT concept dictates that you split the oxygen-using exercises by working hard for short intervals, for example 30 to 60-seconds, and then lower the intensity to recover. While this seems severe, this process is easier on the body. And it works.

HIIT works by combining aerobic and anaerobic exercises for the most efficient use of oxygen and burning fat. Aerobic and anaerobic concepts are covered in Chapter 3 of this guide.

You have a realistic idea of your physical state before you begin a HIIT program. If you’re entirely out of shape or obese, you should work with a professional to manage your program.

Starting off with 30 days of walking for 30 minutes and increasing to 60 minutes or more is a good way to prepare you body for a HIIT program. Mix in some yoga for balance and strength to get your joints and muscles engaged.

Chapter 7: What’s More Important than Building the Product?

Summary

Merely building the product isn't enough.

What's More Important than Building the Product?

We have been speaking about how a great product is integral to your business and in many ways it is. In fact, if a list of the top things to do to ensure business success were created, having a good product would be right there on the top. However, there is something that is also quite important. You could say it goes hand in hand with product enhancement.

And what is that? This important thing is promotion.

Without promoting your product, your business is dead in the water. It won't get a good start, which will make you lose money and you will be out of your business soon. This is a vicious circle; you have to try to be out of this as soon as you can.

So, what does promotion mean? Basically it means advertising your product, but in simple layperson terms, you could also say it is highlighting your product where it can meet with good exposure. Today, the Internet has opened up various vistas for advertisement. You can actually reach out to your target niche and promote your product directly to them.

There are so many products in the market currently which aren't better than their competitors but are still surviving and some are even dominating. Now, why is this happening? Advertisement is the answer. They spend millions on ad campaigns, both online and offline and increase the curiosity levels. If the packaging is slick, if the promotion has been great, then people don't mind checking out the product.

But the most important thing that advertisements do is to create an awareness of the product. People know that the product exists; there builds up a curiosity level for the product. It is because of this that people don't mind adding the product to their shopping carts to try them out if nothing else.

Slick advertisement and brand awareness are extremely important when you are trying to build a product that can reach out to people. Don't undermine the importance of these two aspects, which can very easily make or break a product, however good or bad it is.

Chapter 8: Selling a Refrigerator to an Eskimo

Summary

Traditionally, this line has been used to indicate a wily salesperson that uses every trick in the book to sell things to people that they don't want. But isn't this talent going to be great for you if you are entering business?

Selling a Refrigerator to an Eskimo

"There is only one way... to get anybody to buy anything. And that is by making the other person want to buy it."

Dale Carnegie, adapted for advertising

How do you sell a fridge to an Eskimo! That challenge has always been the symbol of the ultimate in marketing a product to someone who simply does not need it. There are funny answers that come up, which also stand for dubious practices in advertising.

'Tell him there is alcohol in it' is a kind of surrogate advertising. Your intent may actually be to sell him alcohol, so you sell him a fridge bundled with bottles of whisky. 'Tell him it will make him feel warmer/ is a partial truth, because technically speaking, the temperature inside the fridge can be adjusted to be higher than the subzero cold outside!

But let us revise that original statement - That challenge has always been the symbol of the ultimate in marketing a product to someone who apparently does not need it. That will lead us to ask - is there possibly a reason why an Eskimo would need a fridge? The answer is another simple question - Why do you sit at your dining table eating a salmon dish with a fork and knife? Why aren't you out there in the jungle spearing the fish and roasting it on a crude fire? Product development, advertising and marketing are the driving forces of civilization and convenience.

The Eskimo needs a fridge because he no longer wants his wife to go and bury the reindeer roast under a pile of snow. And, here we come to another factor in advertising, he also wants it because his neighbor has bought one!

So that's it! We have sold a fridge to an Eskimo without any trickery, without gimmicks or lies. We have simply fulfilled the three needs of a good product for the Eskimo - a product that satisfies a need, with great looks and high quality, marketed well.

That wasn't very difficult was it? Now shall we attempt to sell bottled water to millions of people who have easy access to safe drinking water through taps in their kitchen? That is probably tougher than selling a refrigerator to an Eskimo!

Chapter 9: Keep Your Ears Open

Summary

The ears are the most important organs of a successful businessperson.

Keep Your Ears Open

'We listen. We do stuff, we follow through, and then we listen more."

Coca Cola and Pepsi are two of the biggest giants in advertising and marketing in the world today. They spend millions of dollars in market research and product development. Could they go wrong? In the early 1980s, Coke tried to retain its position as number one by introducing New Coke to replace the old flavor. There was a hue and cry from the public and Coke was forced to bring back its original classic cola. A few years later Pepsi launched Pepsi AM, a drink targeted for breakfast time. And yet later came Pepsi Clear, a colorless cola drink! Both were rejected by the market.

Coke and Pepsi reacted to negative public feedback by quickly withdrawing those flop products from the market. There are several cases of dud products eroding the market share of a company because no one listened to the consumer. Ford Motor Co. sold its first bestselling car for a long time under the line - "People can have the Model-T in any color - so long as it's black." After a while buyers began to ask for style and color options. Ford's competitors listened to the feedback and obliged. Ford was compelled to follow suit to service.

Today, the vast reach of the Internet makes listening much easier. The Consumer Relations departments of many companies set up and monitor Face book, Twitter and blogs where they can listen to instant feedback and act swiftly to correct a problem or to improve a product.

Step 4: Join Those Groups

Now that your profile is complete and we have done our group/ niche research, it's time to go back and join the groups you checked out earlier. A completed profile is very important because many group owners/moderators actually will review your profile to make sure you are an 'appropriate' new member for the group.

New people with incomplete details very often will have a difficult time getting accepted into the more active and beneficial groups, but since you have taken the time to set up a good, solid professional profile - you should have no problem getting into the majority of the groups that you apply for.

One thing to remember - no matter what your membership level is with LI - you are limited to joining only 50 groups, so use some care in joining. If you find later that some groups are not proving to be as productive as you want, you can leave a group so that you may join another.

Once you have joined all of your groups, write a brief intro about yourself and your business - nothing too elaborate, just enough to let the group owner and members know that you are going to be a valued contributing member of the group. I usually spin it a bit for every 8 to 10 groups, as there are going to many people that will belong to several of the same groups you are posting to - you don't want it to look totally 'copy and paste' across all 50 groups!

So spin it a bit - change up the opening sentence every few sites, switch the paragraphs around, change the close. You don't have to write something totally unique for each one - but you do want to vary it a bit so that across the 50 groups you have at least 5 different versions, and ideally 10 different versions.

Step 5: Participating & Connecting

This is the time consuming part but absolutely essential: you need to become a visible known entity at several groups before you start your own group - and start reaching out to 'connect'. This is all about building your credibility on Linkedln - and credibility will lead to your long-term success with this project!

Here's the game plan: I usually focus on the largest and most active 5 groups that I have joined first as it is pretty overwhelming and time consuming to try and do this over all 50 groups at once.

And as mentioned earlier - there will be many people that will belong to more than one group on your list - so by focusing on the top 5 groups, you stand a very good chance of still being seen by may people that are also members of many of the other groups on your lists.

You will usually find that people will respond to your introduction post - some will welcome you to the group, some may even ask for more information on what you do. Respond to each comment, and send out an invitation to connect with each person that comments. That's the big perk of joining groups - according to Linkedln's hierarchy, you are now 'connected' to every person in every group that you belong to - you can now start reaching out to them directly.

But, obviously, we want to be much more proactive than simply waiting for people to comment on our introduction message - so now we start posting to the groups as well. I like to vary the type of posts that I make. Generally, I will start with a news piece of interest to the niche, and will link directly to the source - NOT to my website.

Next I may ask a question - I may ask for help with a problem related to the industry, asking for assistance in looking for a resource etc - in other words - you are recognizing that others in the group have knowledge and resources that you value and respect.

My next post will usually be an interesting article or even a survey on a topical issue (the more heated/controversial the better!) on my website. I continue this process for a few days - I rotate through all 5 groups, and never post to any group more than once a day.

At the same time that I am making myself 'visible' across the groups that I have joined, I will also send out invitations daily until I have built up my connections to 200+ (this doesn't take long). 200 connections seems to be a good base point to start your own group - it doesn't take long to get to this point, and gives you a good number to send invitations to once you set up your own group....

You will see the page you want to send your visitors to, a brief summary of the content, a comment box for any additional comments you want to add and below that, a checkbox for "Post to groups".

Make sure you check that box for groups and that the post is visible to anyone (just next to the Twitter box). If you have a Twitter acct - be sure to check that too!

Once you click on the "Post to Groups" link, a new box will appear. As you start to type the name of a group, you will see the names of matching groups that you belong to appear in a pop-up window, so you won't have to type in the whole name - just select them from the list as they appear.

Linkedln does not let you cut and paste your list of groups into the box - this is one of their spam prevention measures.

BUT this does make it a lot faster than having to type in each group name completely!

Another aid is to copy your list of groups into notepad or something similar so that you have the list handy for easy reference while doing your submissions - it's a lot easier than having two browser windows open!

Alternatively, you can use HootSuite or Gremln - but for some reason - I find that my submissions seem to show up in more groups when I submit from inside Linkedln rather than use an external service. No reason as to why this would be the case -just personal experience that I thought I would pass on!

Running For Weight Loss PLR Ebook

Ebook Sample Content Preview:

The most important thing you will need are good running shoes. There are many brands on the market with a range of prices. You may be tempted to go for the cheapest pair but bear in mind that this is the only investment you will be making.

It is best to get running shoes that provide good support. Most running injuries are caused by wearing old shoes or ill-fitting shoes that are on the verge of falling apart. There is a lot of impact in running and this impact needs to be cushioned by shoes that were designed for running.

The best thing you can do is to visit a running speciality store where the staff can evaluate what type of shoes are best suited for you. Different types of feet will require different types of support. For example, someone who is flat footed may require a higher arch. Get shoes that work for you and that’s half the battle won.

A good practice would be to note down the day you buy your running shoes. You will need to replace your shoes after about 400 miles or about 640km. Do not judge the condition of a shoe by its outer appearance. Sometimes the shoe may still look good but the inner cushioning may be all worn out.

A sign of poor cushioning would be pain in your knees, muscle fatigue, shin splints, etc.

If you’re feeling a nagging pain that has appeared out of the blue, chances are it’s time to get a new pair.

If your budget allows for it, get 2 pairs and alternate them. The shoes will last longer since the cushioning has more time to dry and decompress. In the long run, you’ll actually save money on shoes by using this method.

About halfway through the life of your running shoes, you might want to buy another pair of running shoes to rotate into your runs. Your shoes will last longer when you allow them to decompress and dry out between workouts. Also, having a fresh pair of shoes as a reference will help you notice when your old ones are ready to be replaced.

Although you should replace your shoes every 300 to 400 miles, there are ways to make sure they last until the higher end of that range. Follow these tips for making your running shoes last longer. Once you've bought a new pair of running shoes, you can donate your old ones to one of these organizations that collect used running shoes.

Comfortable Running Attire

One man’s meat is another man’s poison. This is true with running attire.

There are all kinds of attire being sold for running. Some people like tight fitting sportswear, others like loose fitting t-shirts and some men don’t even like wearing a shirt when they run. Your best bet is to wear what you are comfortable in and run

That being said, women will need to get a good sports bra. Both sexes will have to get socks that are made for sports. These are usually a synthetic blend of materials because 100% cotton socks tend to cause blisters.

As you become a more avid runner you may decide to invest in clothing specifically designed for running. These clothing often have unique features such as removing moisture from your skin fast so that you feel cooler and they also do not chafe your skin, especially during long runs.

Stopwatch

Having a stopwatch is essential to tracking your progress. You will want to reduce your timings and strive for improvement. You can only do that if you’re keeping track of your runs. Most digital watches including the inexpensive ones come with a stopwatch feature. Get one and use it. Record your distance and timings in a journal religiously.

Water Bottle

This is not essential if you hydrate well prior to your run. However, some people may feel breathless and thirsty while running if they are not used to it. If you get thirsty easily, get a water bottle. The only issue is that you will have to carry it with you and run or you could leave it on a bench nearby and get to it whenever you need to.

If you’re getting water bottles, it’s best to get a BPA water bottle that is made out of hard plastic. It is safer for you.

Ankle Weights

After a while, as your stamina improves, you may wish to add ankle weights to your legs. This will make your runs more challenging and force your body to adapt. Your stamina and strength will improve by leaps and bounds.

Anti-Chafe Balm

Some people may experience chafing since they run often. You may get an anti-chafe balm from a sports store or you could just order one online from Amazon.

Other than the items mentioned above, runners may prefer other items such as headphones to blast their favourite music, running armbands to slot in their smart phones, heart rate monitors, sunglasses, running tape, headbands, head lights, etc.

Quite frankly, all these are luxuries and totally up to you. If buying these motivates you to run, then by all means get them and run. If you don’t have the budget, you don’t need them and it doesn’t make you uncool. What really matters is how good a runner you are.

What else do I need to know?

Besides getting equipment, there are 2 essential things you need to do.

Stretching

Hydrating

Always stretch after your body is warmed up a little. Do not stretch cold. You can warm up by doing jumping jacks for a minute. Other exercises that are good would be skipping, mountain climbers and burpees.

Once your heart is pumping and your blood is circulating, then you should engage in a series of stretches. Ideally, you should aim for a total body stretch. Focus on the knees, calves, ankles, waist and hamstrings. You should also rotate your head and shoulders. Just get limber and mobile.

The whole stretching session could be about 3 to 5 minutes. It doesn’t have to be a drawn out yoga stretch that lasts 45 minutes. In fact, you do not want to stretch too long. Your body will warm up during the run. This initial stretch is just to prep you up for the run.

As for hydration, make sure you are consuming the recommended amounts of water daily. Since you’re a runner now, you will need to consume as much water as required. Constant sips throughout the day is ideal. Don’t overdo the water consumption but don’t neglect it either.

Affiliate Advantage Plugin Resale Rights Software

WARNING: Do Not Post About Another Product or Write Another Review Until You’ve Installed This Profit Boosting Wordpress Plugin

Dear friend,

This isn’t like my usual products because with this one there is a giant elephant in the room which we need to address right off the bat.

I’m going to point it out and fully explain everything and then you can decide whether this is for you or not.

What I am about to reveal to you is a little “grey hat” so if that kinda thing upsets or offends you – do not read further, do not post on this thread, do not pass go – just move along and let me talk to the Warriors that are interested in making sure they don’t get screwed out of commissions.

I’m not interested in whiners and pikers picking holes in what’s considered right and wrong. The fact is this plugin can be used in a very naughty way, but that’s not why I’m offering it.

If you take the time to check the terms and conditions of the affiliate programs you promote you can make sure you don’t use it on any that prohibit this method and you can use it 100% legitimately.

But some will still shout “ohh that’s grey hat”.

That’s because it touches on a trick that has previously been used in a totally illegal and unethical way. But this goes a long way to legitimizing it.

But no matter how you dress it up, it is not black and white, it is a matter of opinion and opinions are like butt holes. Everyone has one and most of them stink.

But while all the whiners are debating endlessly about what shade of grey they think it is, myself and a few others are quietly using this on our wordpress sites and it’s making sure we get paid for the work we put in promoting affiliate products.

By now the whiners, self appointed forum police and pikers should have stopped reading and gone off to look at some new fancy video gizmo or something.

Chapter 5: Expanding Business Contacts Affirmation

Synopsis

I'm expanding my network/business contacts.

Networking

You've likely heard the phrase "It’s not what you know, it’s who you know." In today’s interrelated society, that rings true to a higher degree. Your gifts, abilities, and experience will never take you anyplace if nobody knows you exist. So to get what you want out of life and business, you need to be resourceful. Your fellow humans are a vast resource.

Break your stereotypes about networking. If you're reading this, you're probably acquainted with the advantages of networking, but you've avoided doing it for a assortment of reasons.

Networking can appear insincere, ostentatious, or even manipulative. And if that's what you're thinking, you're likely right... about some of it. There will forever be individuals who judge others based on image and titles, but there are likewise individuals who want to establish genuine, mutually beneficial relationships. When you're networking, you're going to have to strain through the individuals you don't want to know to get to the individuals you do want to know. That's merely a crucial part of networking, but the good news is that with practice, you'll get more beneficial at spotting the individuals worth knowing.

You may think you're too timid or self-aware to schmooze. Networking does call for a degree of boldness, but with the advent of social networking sites, you are able to get to discover others with similar interests and goals without being in a room full of individuals. Likewise, individuals who are shy and self-aware tend to be a lot more open and blabby when they're doing or discussing something they're deeply interested in. If you discover individuals who are just as obsessed with self help, origami, or gardening as you are, then you'll have a much easier time building connections.

Networking takes time and sweat. Unless you're an extroverted individual who thoroughly enjoys schmoozing, it can be depleting. Why bother? Well, one way to consider it is to imagine how much time and thwarting you'd save if anything you wanted or needed was just one or two calls away. In the end, a network can be an investment, with benefits that outbalance the costs. You just need to stick with it and see it grow.

Chapter 6: Great Friend Affirmation

Synopsis

I'm a great friend!

Being A Great Friend

Have you discovered yourself contemplating how to make that new individual in your life a good friend? Here are some tips.

Be true. Are you attempting to be friends with somebody to be accepted into a certain clique, or as you'd like to get to know somebody else that he or she knows? That's not friendship, it's self-interest. Every new individual you meet has the right to be accepted (or not) on his or her own virtues, it's better to just be yourself than let anybody else influence you into being somebody you're not.

Be truthful. An unscrupulous individual has no chance of bearing true friends. Keep your promises; do what you say you're going to do, and above all — don't lie!

Be reliable.

Be truehearted. If your friend tells you something in trust, don't discuss it with anybody else. Never say anything about your friend that you wouldn't really want to repeat face to face. Don't let other people say bad things about your friend till you've had a chance to hear your friend's side of the story.

Dig in for friends during times of crisis. If your friend has to go to the hospital, you could help pack his or her bags; if her/his dog turns tail, help to find it, if he/she needs somebody to pick him/her up, be there. If there's a death in his/her family, you may want to attend the funeral — or cook and take a dish or a meal over to your friend. Care about your friend enough to help him or her open up and let the tears roll. Truly listen openly. Stay calm and reassuring.

If your friend is experiencing a crisis — don't say: "Everything is going to be o.k.." — if it's not going to be. This goes right along with keeping it true. It's hard not to say that occasionally, but false reassurance can frequently be worse than none, and it might undermine your friend's ability to come through the crisis as well as one may. Instead, tell your friend that "whatsoever you decide or need, I'm there for you."

Give advice, add view. Don’t judge your friend, but do advise. Tell him/her how you comprehend his/her situation, and what you may do in the same circumstances. Don’t be offended by one hearing your advice and then choosing to ignore it. Your friend must make his or her own conclusions.

Never make a promise you know you can't keep. Good friendship is founded on trust - if you break a friend's trust, the friendship might be very hard to save.

Hear. You don't have to agree — just hear what is said. Make certain to stop talking to hear — so you're not just running your mouth. If you're monopolising every conversation with your feelings, the friend isn't getting anything out of the relationship.

Don't be selfish. Grabbing, stealing, begrudging and/or begging are big Nos in the rules of friendship. The friend will soon get fed up with this and eventually move towards more self-less people.

Planning For The Best

At onetime or another every individual will plan some type of event. This event can be small or large but regardless its size, or its target audience, every event will call for planning in order for it to be successful.

Sit down and consider the event that you are planning. Consider the outcome that you would like to see.

Image everybody that will be involved and start to formulate plans in your minds eye.

Author the vision. Start to write all the thoughts that spring to mind. Allow yourself the chance to see the best possible result for the event.

After you've put down all of your thoughts go through your list again and select the best ideas.

With each thought that you've written begin to contrive a plan to see that each idea comes into being. Do research, read books, go online, talk to individuals and get all of the data necessary to make it happen.

Think about making a story board. Cut out photos, words that give a visual of what the result is that you expect use a poster board to apply your pics to.
