Foreword

Video gaming can be a very entertaining experience for many people. Sometimes you will notice that hours have gone by while you are playing. If you are a person who enjoys playing video games you may want to consider creating your own video game.

The market for video games continuously expands. There is a large amount of money that can be made in the video game industry. Learning how to create a video game will give you an opportunity to make a lot of money as well as provide you with a feeling of self-accomplishment.

A lot of people have great ideas about video games but sadly many of them do not chase their dreams. The reason for this in most cases is that the person may feel as if it is too hard for them to do or that they may not be smart enough. Do not be one of these people! If you have come up with an idea you have already accomplished one of the hardest parts of creating a video game. Creativity does not come naturally to everyone and you should take pride in the fact that you have a creative mind.
If you have a creative mind and enjoy video games you should seriously consider creating your games. After all, it could present you with an opportunity to generate cash flow doing something you love. The following chapter in this book will shed some light on the basics of creating a game and give you some pointers to guide you through the basic processes.

Chapter 1:

Game Creation Basics

Synopsis

When creating a video the first and probably most crucial thing you need to do is come up with a plan. Trying to dive head first without any type of strategy will surely lead to you becoming overwhelmed and eventually failure. You want to make sure you set yourself up for success by having a clear image of the concept of your game and in which ways you will achieve this concept.

There are some basics things you need to keep in mind when creating a video game. The difference between a great video game and a bad one is attention to detail and making sure a good foundation is set by following the basic guidelines. The following chapter will go over the basics of creating a game and will provide you with some tips you should keep in mind.

The Basics

One of the most important things to remember is the fact that no matter how good the graphics are on a video game it will not be enjoyable if it does not have a good story line or plot. A video game is created in much the same way that a movie or TV show is. There needs to be a script, characters, action, and challenges. Every detail of these essential basics should be complete before you begin trying to program your game. Failing to do so will surely lead in a failure or the result of a poor quality game.

Stick true to the game that you want to create and do not try to copy other people’s ideas. The best games that come out are those that were created from someone’s true original thinking. Once the same idea is done time and time again it begins to become dull and much less exciting. It is important to try to always think of a way to add a twist to your game and add something to it that no other games have. This can be difficult to do but with enough time and thinking your creative mind will surely get it done.

A good place to start would be creating a storyboard to guide you along your way. A storyboard is a sequence of scenes or drawings that depict the story line of your game. It is basically the foundation of your game and without a strong one the entire structure of your game will crumble.

One of the next things you need to do is decide what platform you want your game to be on. You will need to program your game in different ways for different platforms due to the fact that different platforms will have different graphic capability. As well, not all platforms will be able to have the same capabilities as others when it comes to game size and other factors. For example, computers game can be much larger in size and arguably have the best graphics but some people find platforms such as Xbox or PlayStations much more convenient and cost friendly. It just depends on what your preferences are.

Now it is time to create a document that describes every aspect of your game idea in great detail. This will serve as your cheat sheet and will ensure that you do not stray from your original game idea. This can be quite a lengthy process but it will be well worth the effort.

Once all of the previous steps are completed it is time to start sketching out the characters of your game. This step is crucial because you need to draw the gamer in the first time they play the game. You should consider coming up with an original theme for your characters. It is important that you make sure that all of your characters fit the theme of their script for the game and the personality you want them to portray. If you are having trouble with this step you may want to consider seeking some help from a professional artist.

Once you have created your characters and you are satisfied with their appearance and personality it is time to start sketching out some scenery or back drops for the environment that you want your game to take place in. The beautiful part about this step is the fact that you can begin with a simple sketch and scan it into a computer. From there you can create an entire world and begin to get a real feel for your game.

Keep in mind that while it is a good idea to stick to the original concept of your game, sometimes better ideas for certain aspects of it will come along and change might be necessary.

Chapter 2:

What Tools Are Needed?

Synopsis

Now that you have completed all of the essential basic tasks of creating a game it is time to start turning your idea into a functioning game. This step can be made much easier with the use of certain tools. By tools I of course do not mean a hammer or a screwdriver. I am talking about tools that can improve your overall workflow as well as the performance of the game.

You may not be familiar with tools that are used in the process of creating a game and that is okay, you are not alone. The following chapter will go over different types of tools used for game creating and will explain the benefits of using them.

Beneficial Tools

A lot of time consumption and the frustration that comes with creating a video game can be alleviated with the use of certain tools. If you have a great deal of pride and you want to try and do everything by hand consider this first, humans have been using tools since the beginning of time so just use them! They will not only increase the speed of your production but they will also surely provide a much better end product.

The following are some tools that’s you may want to consider using as well as their benefits:

Creation tools

This is probably the tool that you will use the most through the entire process of creating your game. Creation tools are involved in basically every aspect of a game. They are responsible for creating levels, music, characters and items within the game. They are used for basically everything, right down to polishing down rough edges right before the game is released. You can find creation tools for cheap and even some for free but keep in mind you can also make your own. Making your own if you are capable is actually a better idea because you can customize it to your needs for the type of game you are making. Find a simple to use creation tool. This will greatly speed up your workflow and nobody likes trying to use complicated programs that are time consuming.

In-Game Editors

These game creation tools allow the programmer to make real-time in game changes. This can greatly improve your productivity as you do not have to exit the game in order to make changes. As well, sometimes you think something will work and it does not. The last thing you want to do is spend time reprogramming outside of the game to load it back up and discover your idea did not work. That is what makes these in-game editors so valuable.

Debugging Tools

These tools are extremely valuable to a game creator. Anyone who has ever designed a game before know how time consuming and frustrating it can be when something in a game fails and you have to read through pages and pages of codes in order to find the problem. Debugging tools get rid of this problem for you by diagnosing possible issues for you as well as giving you their location. They also keep logs and do periodic performance checks.

Deployment Tools

These tools are commonly used when more than one person is working on the game and different members of the team are working on different parts of the game. For example you may have an artist who works only on characters while you have another artist who only works on backdrops. You will need to make sure that everyone’s work is compatible with each other and correct. Deployment tools are great for this and are also helpful with making sure your game will be compatible when trying to make it for more than one platform. One thing to keep in mind is differences in screen size. For example, a game designed for Xbox would look terrible on a smart phone, which is where you will need the help if a deployment tool.

Post-Release Tools

These tools are not really used to create your game but are rather used for monitoring your game once it is released. These tools can be used to receive error reports as well as complaints about your game. With the use of these tools you can receive feedback on your game as well and ratings which will help you with your ideas for your next game. Post-Release tools are a great way to see what works and what doesn’t and what will appeal to the market.

With the use of these tools you will surely increase your productivity and create much less work for yourself. Just remember, everyone will hit the occasional snags but they will be nowhere near as bad with the help of these tools.

You deserve to have structure in your life and a plan of action to make your life more successful and enjoyable. You deserve to achieve your goals and dreams. Never tell yourself that you can't do something. That is simply not true. If you can see something in your mind, then you have it within you to achieve it.

Never be afraid to show people your full potential. Don't allow other people to control you and make you fearful of ever trying anything new. The more you get out and try new things and achieve the things that you have been avoiding, the better you will feel about yourself. You have the ability within you to do many great things. It's time to take control of yourself and become that person you know what is within you.

Understand and Get Control of Your Feelings

In order to get control of your feelings first you need to understand what makes you feel the way you do. You want to be able to understand why you handle any given situation the way you do. By knowing why you handle things the way you do you can have better control of yourself.

Try this simple exercise to help you understand your feelings.

Sit upright in a comfortable chair and pay close attention to how different parts of your body feel. Pay attention to how you breathe. Do you breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth? Is your breathing deep or shallow? Are there areas of your body feel tension? Just sit for a few minutes and become familiar with how your body reacts to sitting still in a chair.

Now pay close attention to any feelings, images or memories that come to your mind. What are these feelings telling you about yourself? Are you having positive or negative feelings? The more you get to understand your feelings, the more in touch with your emotions you become.

Take a few moments to acknowledge with feelings. If you are having bad feelings tell yourself it is okay to feel that at this time. Do not try to analyze your feelings right now. Just simply let your feelings come through.

If you're feeling comfortable and at peace, just allow yourself to feel good. If you are feeling the fear or anger, then allow yourself to discover what is causing this.

If you're feeling pain, allow yourself to feel it and take note of what is causing the pain. Just let all your feelings come out and acknowledge them. By learning to understand your feelings, you can gain more self-control.

No matter what kind of feelings you are having, recognize that there is a reason for the way you are feeling. Gently ask yourself why you are feeling this way. Is there something happening that is making you feel this way? Was there a noise or scent that reminded you of something that made you feel that way?
Do not try to understand your feelings at this point. Try going deeper into your subconscious mind and see if you can reveal the reason for your feelings. The more you learn to recognize your feelings, the easier it is to figure out how to change them if needed.

Introduction

In this world, you’re either GROWING or you’re DYING… There's no middle ground. If you're standing still with zero progress, you're decaying. The same goes for success. It requires you to engage in the process of your personal growth at all times. And of all the things in life, what you believe about yourself can impact your success or failure.

People who believe that their abilities can be improved through their hard work and dedication typically move ahead and take action without coming up with excuses. These same people also demonstrate an open mind, are willing to learn and have been seen as most successful in different aspects of their life. So how do they do it?
This book will tell you how. You will see that the mind is the ultimate force to get you where you want to go but you need to harness its power correctly. How can you do that? Let’s find out together.

Chapter 1

What is Mindset?

The mind is a very powerful tool and it ultimately determines who you are as a person. Also known as mindset, this thinking pattern or your frame of mind impacts how you make sense of the world as well as of yourself.

So in other words, a mindset is a set of beliefs and thoughts which influence the way you handle any given situation. It pretty much dictates your personality helping you sort out what’s going on around you and what you should do about it.

How Mindsets Are Formed

Since time immemorial, people have thought, acted and fared differently from one another. For the most part, common sense dictates that these differences arise from the variances in one’s background, learning experiences and training. Plus, research also points in the same direction.

So while experiences, backgrounds and training are all external variables, even internal variables like genetic makeup have a part to play.

Most experts today agree that forming a mindset is a combination of the two. For instance, while everyone comes with a unique set of genetics, their experiences, training and personal efforts take them the rest of the way.

So your life experiences and genetics together help frame your attitude and beliefs. And since both have an important part to play in your mindset, it helps to know what these two factors are all about.

First off, your attitude to something is how you think or feel about it, especially when it shows in the way you behave.

Your attitude can have different components such as an emotional component or how something or someone makes you feel. Then there is the cognitive component which is how or what you think about the subject. This is finally followed by the behavioral component which shows how you behave when confronted by the subject.

Then there are your beliefs which are merely feelings of certainty about something. Beliefs are based on ideas and when at a specific point, these ideas start to feel certain, they turn into beliefs. Beliefs, in turn shape your attitude which in turn shape your mindset.

Attitudes and beliefs then give rise to habits which are a direct reflection of your mindset.

Perhaps the most common and well known example of a mindset is seeing the glass as “half empty” or “half full”.

Types Of Mindsets

There are different types of mindsets that can either help you unleash your best or contain your potential. There could be a long list of these but here are a few which have been backed by research. Here’s a quick glance at the following:

Abundance Mindset vs Scarcity Mindset

The way you view abundance or scarcity in different aspects of life greatly influences your success in life, For instance, imagine that two people are walking down the street. They are talking to each other, laughing, joking and all the while breathing in and breathing out.

Now do you think that one of the two might worry that there may not be enough oxygen for the both of them? Likely not, since air is abundant.

Now place the same two people scuba diving where one’s tank starts to malfunction. That person signals the need for oxygen and suddenly the air around them becomes a precious commodity.

This scarcity could easily make the two worry with a concern that what if there isn’t enough oxygen for the both of them?

For the most part, the general population seems to be more inclined towards a scarcity mentality. They often view life as having only so much and if they had to share, there wouldn’t be enough for them.

This sad mentality makes it very hard for such people to share anything including credit, recognition, responsibility or even authority with others. Instead they only end up competing for available resources even when there may be an abundance of them.

On the other hand, those with an abundance mentality are not limited by this thinking pattern. Instead of seeing opportunity as limited, they strive to create more opportunity for themselves and embrace change instead of fearing it.

To sum up, a person with a scarcity mindset chooses negative thoughts and adopts a victim mentality. At best, their everyday focus is on all the things that may not be working.

But others with an abundance mindset tend to put all their energy reserves into what is working and see endless possibilities to improve their current situation.

In the United States and Western Europe, we are caught in a health crisis. Not only is there an obesity epidemic, which leads to increased incidence of certain types of cancer, a range of cardiovascular diseases and other lifestyle conditions like type 2 diabetes, This is also symptomatic of a deeper range of illnesses.

In the West anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medications are always in the top ten of annual prescriptions. These products sell in the billions of dollars every single year without fail. On top of that, in the United States in particular, there is an opioid epidemic.

For the longest time, doctors have been prescribing very powerful opiate-based medications. People have gotten used to these. In fact, they’re so dependent that they found a way to unleash the full pain-killing power of prescription medications like OxyContin and hydrocodone.

The result is an opiate epidemic that has resulted in thousands upon thousands of overdose deaths in the United States. The carnage doesn’t look like it’s going to be stopping any time soon.

The common threat that unites all these sad scenarios is the fact that in the West, we have forgotten about wellness. We really have. The traditional Western view of wellness is very restricted and, given what's going on, on the ground, quite short-sighted.

Traditional Western medicine's attitude towards wellness is built on the assumption that the body and the mind are separate. They are not joined, they are not related in any way, but they are separate.

Just as importantly, whatever treatments are created for either body or mind, have to be based on biochemical compounds. In fact, it's only been recently that we have steered towards the direction of biochemistry. Prior to this, it's mostly just hard chemistry.

This idea of the body and mind being separate has led to doctors treating the symptoms but overlooking the disease. It’s impossible to treat the body without addressing the mind and the spirit.

Unfortunately, in the West, the spiritual component of wellness is hardly mentioned at all. In fact, people get really antsy and uncomfortable the moment the idea of spirit enters any conversation. It's like it's completely off-limits to “credible” scientific investigation.

On top of all of this, the typical diagnosis for physical ailments leaves out the attitude, mindset as well as emotional configuration of the patient. In fact, it's only been recently that general-practice physicians have factored in lifestyle considerations.

In the world of traditional Western medicine, the idea of lifestyle medicine is quite recent. In fact, the medical institutions in Western countries only began taking this very seriously starting in the 1930s, but in a very substantial way starting in the 1960s.

Prior to those points in time, the whole idea of changing your lifestyle to improve your health outcomes was considered quaint or even superstitious. By and large Western doctors focused on chemicals and surgery to get people better.

Thankfully, we have overcome such thinking because as it turns out, lifestyle provides input to the human body on so many levels. These inputs are not inconsequential. They really go a long way in making you who you are. Accordingly, if there are any problems with these inputs, you are sure to feel the consequences.

This sea of change in the rank-and-file doctors’ impression of lifestyles’ impact on overall health signals a matching change in medical professionals’ view of the body-and-mind connection. Starting in the 1930s and coming to a head in the 1960s and following decades, the previously thought of iron wall between body and mind started to crumble.

Lifestyle is a summation of that because your lifestyle provides inputs on different levels. It provides a nutritional input and a social input. Your work conditions have a very significant impact on your well-being.

Stress can either push you forward or drag you down. This applies across the board. Your ability to mentally focus is part of the equation. Believe it or not your financial state plays a big role as well.

Finally, tying all of this together is your spiritual aspiration. You may not be a particularly religious person, but everybody has a spiritual component regardless of whether we wish to recognize it or not. All of these inputs work together. They flow through each other, and they impact each other in a very significant way.
The big problem here is the fact that human beings are actually being pushed from different angles. All of these are inputs. What you choose to eat in any given day has a tremendous effect on your overall well-being.

Take the case of magnesium. Do you feel irritable? Do you feel sad for no reason? Do you often get out of bed in a bad mood? Does it seem like things don't quite work out for you or at least you feel like things aren’t panning out?

Well, you might want to consider the amount of magnesium in your diet. Fairly recent nutritional studies show that deficiencies in magnesium, which a lot of people suffer from, impact a range of mental, emotional and physical states.

The same applies to vitamin D. A lot of people are thinking that vitamin D is a no-brainer. After all, most people have access to sunlight. Well, you have to expose yourself consciously to sunlight at a certain time range.

You can’t just go out at any time and expect your vitamin D levels to be optimal. You actually have to be purposeful in calculating your exposure to sunlight; otherwise, your body is not going to synthesize optimal levels of vitamin D.

According to fairly recent research on this amazing vitamin, vitamin D actually has a wider impact than bone health. It impacts psychological states, moods. In fact, we're still learning the wide range of benefits people get from vitamin D.

Your overall lifestyle determines whether you ingest enough magnesium or you get enough sunlight to enjoy optimal levels of vitamin D. Sadly, a lot of people are experiencing symptoms of deficiencies in these and other vitamins and nutrients, and they have absolutely no clue. They just feel that they are anxious. They can’t sleep well. They have mood imbalances.

Automatically, they think that they need chemicals like antidepressants or anti-anxiety medication. It is no surprise that Americans are overmedicated. It's like trying to kill ants by burning down your house.

I would think that you know that doesn’t make any sense. However, this is precisely the problem that we have when we do not completely realize how important lifestyle choices are.

Good old affiliate promotion, the lifeblood of many businesses: underestimated or ignored by many more. In this manual, I want to take you on a journey through the inner workings of a well-oiled affiliate program. We’ll talk about everything from the importance of running such a system, through to getting affiliates promoting when you want them to, and some stats for you to have a look at that will squash any doubt that this is one of the most profitable aspects of online business, and I’ll make sure to get at least one interactive quiz in there to make things a more interesting read, and to test your knowledge. Even if you don’t have an affiliate program set up for your own business yet, give it a shot. Skim over it at least. It’s not hard to understand or set up once you have the facts, not to mention the mighty profit potential it puts at your disposal. So, grab a cup of your favorite drink, sink into your most comfortable chair, and let’s get started.

Overview of Affiliate Management

? To demonstrate how powerful affiliate marketing is, and why no marketer should be without it.
? To look at some figures of product sales and profit both with and without affiliate programs functioning. How effective is this? You decide.
? To open your mind when it comes to setting your commissions and understand the concept of reaping resources being far more powerful than any small percentage you can keep from your affiliates.
? To discuss the inner workings of affiliate sales through commission level setting for your business, taking into account the money making power you're going to build for yourself.
? To show you how to overcome the problem of affiliates not promoting your products for you.

Effective Affiliate Program Management

Welcome to Effective Affiliate Program Management. I wrote this for one reason, and one reason only, and that's to show you how to maintain both your affiliate system, the affiliates contained within it, the offers you send them, and how to get the most out of all of the above. Also, I’ll be talking to you about what not do to with them, why they're so important and some of the reasons that affiliates and affiliate systems are often underestimated or seen in a negative light from the perspective of program owners looking solely at their short to medium term profit. One thing I will say is that It’s important to acquire and consume this knowledge at the earliest stage possible for reasons we’ll discuss shortly. Even it isn’t your top priority at this particular moment, you’ll be able to see just how powerful affiliate marketing is and why you should start planning before even launching your products.

What You Won’t Find Here What you won't find here is any technical talk on how to install scripts, which scripts to use, coding, how to make them look pretty or anything like that, because if you haven't already guessed, we're a purely practical marketing theory based guide (proven and tested theory that is), and not a techy guide, or a dressed up marketing guide that overlaps into these categories to make the manual look bigger.

Setting the Scene - Displaying the Power Lets take it from the top. First up, how do you define an affiliate program, or affiliate system? A system in which an owner or licensee of a product allows people outside of his or her own company to promote for them for a percentage of the commissions. Pretty much everyone online uses this resource to their advantage, because lets face it, it's far easier for 100 people to sell 1000 units of a product than it is to have one person sell a thousand units of a product. I'm sure it's possible, but we don't have all the time in the world, so affiliates are generally the answer, and should make up a large amount of your business' revenue if you're promoting your own products.

In case you're kind of underestimating the situation, don't have any affiliate system in place, or haven't decided to fully utilize this type of system within your business, let me put a scene to you to make this all crystal clear. Here’s the situation; You're a business owner, you've just launched your shiny new site, which just happens to sell the same product as Mr. X here. Both yours and Mr. X’s product is priced at $500. The difference is you've built yourself up a relatively modest 150 affiliates, and Mr. X is doing all the promotion alone.

Now imagine you each make ten sales in the first month through personal promotion. You both make $5000. Great, but when your affiliates come in, it's easy to see how this figure can double. Now of course not all of your affiliates are going to be heavy hitters, great promoters or even make any sales at all, ever. But lets say just 10% of your affiliates, just 15 of them, make a measly three sales each in that same month at 60% commissions, which I'll set higher than average right now for a reason I'll reveal in a moment.

Pulling out my handy calculator, I can tell you that through those three sales from a small percentage of your affiliates, you've just made an extra $9000, bringing your total to $14000 for that month. You're laughing, and poor Mr. X. He was one of the many marketers out there that didn't take this type of affiliate marketing seriously, or didn't see any real profit in it. Meanwhile, you've just pocketed in a month what it takes most of my friends in regular jobs to earn in four or five months, often longer. Cool huh?

Why Don’t You Set It Up? - I Asked Them. So now you can see how important this is, never ever let anyone tell you it's not worth spending the extra money on the set up of an affiliate program, made even easier nowadays by the plethora of software and solutions available to you as an online business owner. ”So why not set one up? They’re more than doubling my income”, I used to say to my less experienced contacts in the online business world. Ask yours the same question if you like and see what they say. The reasons they'll give you when you ask why they hold their negative opinion on this subject, more often than not will be that in their experience hardly any of their affiliates promote. Well, they’re not wrong, it varies from business to business, but many affiliates don't bother to promote, or sign up meaning to and forget, or just don't have their resources built to a point where they have the promotion power to make the sales. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't still grab them at every opportunity, as you can see here from just that small example above, just 10% of affiliates promoting, making a small (very small) amount of sales each can easily double, triple., quadruple your income and sometimes even more. Looking at these figures always gets me excited. Have you ever seen someone making 40-50, 60 or 100 thousand dollars a month and wondered to yourself how the heck they pull that kind of cash out of their products when you're struggling to hit five or ten thousand a month? Well let me tell you, this is a very big part of it. Don't miss out, or you might find yourself just getting by instead of extremely comfortable where income is concerned.

The second reason you might be told that having affiliates promote for you is a waste of time and effort on your part, is that they're hard to find. It's another one of those little niggly things, like the list craze going on all around us. In general the more responsive your list, the more cash you're going to make out of them now and in the future. This is exactly the same. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you're making a mistake putting a successful affiliate program high on your list of priorities, even over making direct sales.

Why Build Free Membership Sites?

What’s not to like about a free membership site?

Internet marketers, email marketers, and Internet entrepreneurs of all stripes are quickly finding the many, many advantages to opening a free membership site for their customers and potential customers. Even savvy and well-established Internet marketers who have paid membership sites are jumping on the free membership site bandwagon because they can see the obvious advantages.

Paid membership sites are most usually limited to a specific number of members. This means that marketing is limited to that specific number. Limiting marketing possibilities is never a positive thing no mater what products or services are being promoted. Of course, there are obvious reasons for limiting paid membership site memberships but the fact remains that a free membership site can be operated right along side a paid membership site and there is never any reason at all to limit the memberships available to a free site.

Three to six months is about the duration of a paid membership to most membership sites according to many paid membership site owners. Three to six months isn’t very long in terms of Internet marketing. Once a paid member drops his membership, the site owner must then replace him and that can get expensive.

On the other hand, membership cancellations at free membership sites are easily and cheaply replaced. Marketing to the members of a free membership website is absolutely unlimited. You can continue to market to free membership site members for as long as you want to. Free membership sites are easy to run and they cost almost nothing and yet the owner is supplied with an almost unlimited number of customers and potential customers to market all kinds of products and services to.

Let’s face it: Every Internet marketer must now have an opt-in mailing list in order to send bulk marketing emails. That’s the law that went into effect with the passage and implementation of the CAN SPAM act. There is nothing anybody can do about it. If you send bulk marketing emails without the express consent of the recipients, you are subject to very heavy fines and the very real possibility of having your Internet business closed down altogether.

So... why limit your mailing list to just a paid membership site? Why not build a free membership site and gain an unlimited number of names and email addresses to which you have the legal right to send marketing emails? There simply is not satisfactory reason for NOT having a free membership site...at least not one that I can see. Free membership sites are easy to set up and easy to operate. Of course, there must be fresh and timely content but that’s a lot easier (not to mention cheaper) than constantly having to run PPC campaigns or paying for advertising in related E-zines to attract members to your opt-in list and thus gain their permission to market products and services to them.

We all know that visibility on the Internet is one of the basic keys to successful marketing. Getting visibility is one of the hardest tasks that most Internet marketers face from the inception of a marketing idea. All Internet marketers well understand the value of writing and marketing articles and eBooks, posting to blogs and forums that belong to others and doing PPC campaigns, as well as, exchanging links and paying for advertising in E-zines and newsletters.

With a free membership website, you can almost guarantee yourself, not only a long list of customers and potential customers but that others will be willing to pay YOU for advertisements on your free membership sites and advertisements in the newsletters that you send to your very impressively long list.

The shoe will be on the other foot, so to speak. Other marketers will be begging you to download and post articles and eBooks which they have written trying to gain that coveted Internet visibility.

Influence is another sought after and enviable facet of Internet marketing. When an Internet marketer gains influence over even a small group of consumers, they have a great deal influence among other Internet marketers, as well. When that pool of consumers is really large, a marketers influence with other marketers increases in direct proportion to the number of consumers that he has influence over.

With a free membership site, an Internet marketer gains access to an unlimited number of potential customers in his niche marketing area. By keeping his content fresh and timely he will gain influence over the purchases that the members of his free membership make and even when they make purchases and from whom. This is commonly known as ‘clout’.

Paid membership sites usually have limited memberships. If the membership isn’t limited by the marketer, it is limited by the number of people who are willing to pay an annual membership fee... and that number for any niche market IS a limited number.

On the other hand, a free membership site that allows interaction between the owner, as well as, with other members is affordable by everybody who might even be remotely interested in the products and services that the enterprising Internet marketer will be offering to his list.

The cost to members is a big fat zero and it just can’t get any cheaper than then. Those who might well want to join a paid membership site but either don’t think they can afford it or simply don’t want to spring for the membership fees will certainly be able to join a free membership site.

Many Internet marketers who have paid membership sites also have free membership sites. Often those free sites are made up on customers or potential customers who will eventually become members of the paid membership site so it becomes a win/win situation for all concerned.

The bottom line here is that there is simply no reason NOT to build a free membership website no matter what niche market you are in.

You will have the potential of building an extensive opt-in list and there simply is no other way that is as easy or as cost effective out there!

What You Need Before Getting Started

Building a free membership website is just about as easy as falling off a log...well, maybe not quite that easy...but it IS easy. There are so many associated advantages to having a free membership site that the little bit of trouble and expense will be well worth the time and effort that are required.

To get started on building your free membership website you are going to need some tools. The first thing that you will need to secure is a web hosting service. There are actually two web hosting services that are excellent, reasonably priced and effective. You will have choices to make when you visit either of these two websites.

Introduction

List maintenance is one of the most important subjects in online marketing. Your list is your number one and most basic bottom level output for your promotions. It’s expensive and time consuming to gather, but forms one of the most powerful resources and profit potential you have. For this reason, we need to understand exactly how it works. Throughout my time in online marketing, I’ve tried many different formats. There are clear differences that allow some methods to come out on top, while some fail miserably. Depending on your business, there are several solutions that might be right for you. For this reason, we need to look at the big five to allow you to decide which one is going to make you the most cash. Let’s do it.

Overview of List Management – Part 1

? To show you why you need to decide which method you're going to use to maintain your list before you even start building it for maximum positive effect.
? To explain why it's so hard to change mid flow, once you've already started.
? To show that to get people to listen and take notice of you and avoid complaints, there's a few things that you'll need to tell the customer beforehand.
? To set solid goals for your list, and map out where you want it to go in the future.
? To show you how powerful your list actually is to you, and to display how much more earning potential some methods have over others, and how you're going to capitalize on that.
? To introduce the rating system which will be assisting your decision on how you're going to maintain your list when from the moment the first subscriber arrives.
? To talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the first list maintenance type, a standard e-zine or newsletter to your target market.
? To reveal the first of the most powerful list type that you could possibly have in your hands, and how to deal with the subscribers and make the most cash out of it.
Understanding List Management 1

Let’s discuss the various methods of list maintenance that have proven successful for many marketers, and the up sides and the downsides that come with them, because to be totally honest with you, there's no way me, or any other person or guide can ever tell you what’s best in this situation without knowing you, your business, and your future plans, and what you're going to use your list for. Please understand that this is no technical report. I won't be showing you around autoresponders or telling you the best ones to use, or how to use them. No, this is far more important, and will generally form the shape of your future promotions and of course how successful they will become, and in what way. So without further ado, lets get talking about the fundamentals and the type of things you should be looking at for a start. During this guide we'll be looking at how each management technique affects your response rate, your customer loyalty, the amount you earn from your list, and what type of promotion it's suited to, such as your own products, joint ventures or purely affiliate marketing. We'll also take into account the money you can earn

from selling ads to that list, which isn't quite as important as you may think right now. Always Be Truthful

So, lets get started. The number one thing that I need to tell you right now, before we even look at these methods is to make 100% sure that the people signing up know what they're getting themselves into. For example, how many e-zines or newsletters have you ever subscribed to only to find out that they're not actually e-zines and newsletters, just ad lists (which to be honest aren't all that bad in particular situations, but we'll be getting to that in a moment). The choice you make now will shape your business far in to the future, but more importantly whatever you tell your customers and subscribers they'll be getting will shape your response rate considerably, and that's obviously something we'll want to take into account from the very start. So there we have it. Rule number one, never tell your customers they're getting something then deny them that, or send them things that they haven't requested or didn't know about, because not only will that get you into trouble, but it will also affect the loyalty and trust these customers and subscribers have with you, which is so important.

What we’re aiming to build here is a targeted and effective list that has response rates through the roof depending on what you're promoting. Don't forget this also includes affiliates, and may form a large part of your affiliate base. Which brings me onto one more point, before we look through the four majorly used techniques for different types of lists through different marketers. The Role of Your List Should Always be at the Front of Your Mind What's your list there for? Promotion and to allow you to make money from the subscribers selling products that either you've created, or affiliate products in your target market, to build joint ventures, and of course increase your affiliate numbers and quality. But there's one more thing I want you to be aware of. Where do I get all this information? Through ad tracking, true, but my list is also a very important part of this. Listen to Your List & Reap the Rewards I know what to sell to them because they tell me what they want. I know when my websites suck or look plain ugly because I ask them. I know what they're interested in buying, the most effective headlines and language to use when typing out ads in relation to my list, who are in effect my target market. So you see, again we're promoting not just for profit, but to learn

valuable lessons at the same time. Your list provides as much useful data as your advert tracking, no matter how small. This Is your key to developing a successful business that is aimed at your target market, and creating a sales system that works, not just in your eyes, but in the eyes of the people that are most important to you. And that's your customer, the person who at the end of the day is going to make you a whole lot of money if treated right. So here's the deal. Ask. Don't feel stupid about sending out mails to your list that aren't adverts, or that might seem like random babble to you. To them, not only will they feel closer to you personally, no matter what technique you use below, (which in turn will have them reading more often) but it'll give you really important results about you newest product, your website or even an idea that you have for a product that you'd like feedback on before you even start. Use your list in this way.

Promote to learn, not to make a profit, and you'll end up with far more cash at the end of the year than if you just assume, guess or don't bother (Which seems to be many marketers out there). Don't be one of them. Get the knowledge you need to succeed from your customers before they even hand you their money. It works wonders for you, your reputation, your knowledge and your pockets. Ask your list if you're not sure. It's so powerful that it'd be a complete waste if not utilized properly. If you're right, great, go for it. If you're wrong, your list will tell you so, great again. You can fix it and pocket the cash at the same time. I can't think of a fairer deal than that. Keep it in mind. Your list is more than a bunch of names. It's a bunch of opinions, and real important ones at that.

Next up, I'm going to talk to you about the four main methods successful marketers use to maintain their lists. Each one with a different use and purpose, and each one has its ups and downs. Granted I'm biased towards two of them, and I'll tell you why when we get there. But like I said, there's no way for me to tell you how to run your business. All I can do is tell you the most effective ways of going about it, and let you decide what's most convenient for you and where you want your business to go.

The Rating System Let's also have a little bit of fun here, too, and introduce a rating system to make things interesting. As we discuss each of these techniques, I'll talk to you about their pros and cons, and where they would most likely be used, and you can decide if it'll be relevant to you. I'm also going to give these a starred rating system that will show you the most significant stats related to running such a list. Understand that each list will vary, and these star ratings are only to give you an idea after talking to over a hundred successes with their lists in the following categories. The star rating will be one to five: Unsubscription Rate: One star means a high unsubscription rate per mailing, and five stars means the best, a low unsubscription rate per mailing. Subscription Rate: How easy it is to get people to subscribe to the list using a variety of different methods. The subscription rate at one star is the hardest, and at five stars is the easiest.

A Little Something Extra Summary

Introduction Let me ask you a question. The last time you launched your own product to sell online, or even offline, how did you come to a conclusion about what price you were going to be selling at? At a guess, I’d probably say you looked at the competition to see what they were charging. While this is a good start, it’s far from the whole picture, and you’re fumbling in the dark if you looking at competition is the only factor you’re taking into account. Did you know you can double your sales volume by doubling your price? I’ve done it myself, and I’ll show you how. Did you also know that 99% of the products I see being sold are too cheap. So much so, that they’re putting customers off instead of attracting them (which is no doubt what they think they’re doing). Let’s dispel some pricing myths and dig right down to the real facts to ensure you get the most cash in your pocket the next time you launch one of your products.

Overview on Pricing

? To introduce the concepts of fluid pricing strategies, and to show that you have many more avenues to explore than it seems like at first glance.
? To answer some of your questions about how you should price your product for maximum profit taking the number of sales to price ratio's into account.
? To display the effect of pricing too low, where many people price their products without first looking at the all important bigger picture.
? To show you why many people are under pricing their products in a big way, and how you can avoid this pitfall.
? To show you that the price you choose for your product isn't simply about charging less than the competition, in fact by charging more, you can be making even more sales.
? To give you additional pricing options for your main product, and show you how you can significantly increase your profits simply through giving your customers options.
? To demonstrate the correct and most effective way of going about introducing trial periods for your products, and why many get this wrong.
? To show you effective methods of experimenting with your price over time without annoying the people who bought from you previously at a higher price.

Pricing Strategies - Getting Started There are some things that I want to talk to you about related to pricing before you head off, create a sales system, put up a website and stuff a price on your product. The aim of this report is to give some insight into the versatility you have as an online marketer with your own products. The problem is, most people just seem to whack a price on their products with little time spent thinking about it, why they've priced it like that, and what factors are going to contribute to whether it's a successful decision. Sound complicated and a lot of work? Well, let me tell you it's not. But I think it's really important that I show you just how much freedom to experiment you have with regards to pricing, and what effect getting it wrong can have in a number of ways, so before you put a price on your product and release it to the world, take some time out, have a read, pick up the points and take them into account using them as kind of a checklist.

The Bigger Picture Now understand, there's a much bigger picture to this than most people realize. A lot of the time prices are put there, just because they can be and possibly fitted loosely around competition and other products and services offering similar things, however, it's not just about planting a number and a dollar sign behind it. All through this process you should be asking yourself lots of why questions. Some of the time, people ask me why the heck I go so in depth into subjects and talk about why they happen. They just want to know how to make a whole load of cash real quick.

Well, I say to them I can tell you how to do stuff, but if the situation changes, and you didn't know why it worked in the first place, then you're going to have to come right back to me again, hand me another five hundred dollars just to find out how to do the same thing in a different way. However, if I tell you how things work, you can take some serious knowledge and know-how away with you, and you have the power to adapt to the fast paced changing world of business online or offline. If you can't adapt, you're dead. Or your business is anyway.

Like I say, there's quite a lot to this, and a lot of things that we're going to talk about, and there's going to be a load of questions that are going to pop into your head. Does competition matter in such a big marketplace with regards to pricing? Should I be cheaper? Should I be more expensive? How do I know when to be which and why? Should I give special offers to particular groups of people? Who? Why? Should I offer different versions of my product at different prices? How do I do that, and how do I know if I'm doing right? There's a shed load of answers about the above and much more that I'm going to give you in a moment. But all the way through this I want you to keep in mind the flexibility you have as an online marketer with your pricing. Get this right, and it could easily mean double the profits for you. Get it wrong, and it's likely you'll have trouble selling anything at all.

Pricing with Regard to Competition So, with the formalities and generalizations out of the way, lets look at how you should price your products with regard to competition. The reason I want to talk about this first, is simple. When you're looking at pricing, the very first thing you're likely to do is say, hey, so what is everyone else charging for similar products? And you may go from there.

Now there's nothing wrong with doing this at all, but there's more to think about, and a lot more questions to ask than a simple can I beat what this guy is charging for his service? Your price doesn't have to beat everyone else’s out there for you to get sales. This is something that I learned a long time ago, and you may remember me talking about actually increasing my sales by putting the price of the monthly membership up, and offering an option that was actually ten times more money up front, which increased profits even further. You really need to be aware of what other people are charging for their products, but that doesn't by any means signal that you have to go out there and beat them. Imagine you've just started up an ad tracking and autoresponder script site that's so detailed, and so professional that it smacks the pants off the competition. But see the other sites offering the same service are hanging around at the ten dollar per month mark. Does this mean that you have to go and beat them and have a lower price for anyone to look at you? Nope, not at all. What you have on your hands is a premium product, and you shouldn't be worried to sell it at a premium price.

Rule 1: Premium Products Sell at Premium Prices So, here’s rule number one. If you have a great premium product, don't be afraid to bump the price up. You do not by any means have to beat a competitor’s price to be competitive, in fact, by putting your price up, it's quite possible that you'll outsell your cheaper competition. Why? Because a higher price screams quality. Don't, for one moment, believe you have to have the best price to make any sales. That's just not true, you just have to have the best sales system, and of course a premium product if you really ever want anyone to buy from you again.

Rule 2: Wowing Through Price Is a Bad Move

The fact is, if your price is too low, people look at you and wonder why the heck you're charging that tiny amount. If your brand spanking new piece of advanced technology software is really as good as you say it is, why does it only cost ten dollars? So there we have rule number two. Never price yourself so low that you think people will look and think wow that’s a quality sounding product, look how little it costs! That's not what they're saying at all. They're saying, “Wow, look at how little that costs. There can't be that much to it.” So in effect, all you're doing here is adding even more value to your product through a higher price. It might be the same product, but I tell you now, it's much more likely to sell more copies at a price that someone might look at and think that it's reasonable, or average than something someone might look at and fall off their chair at how cheap you are.

How to Stop Being Shy

Are you one of those people who tense up, lose your breath, get all jittery and can't think of a thing to say in certain situations? If you're one of those people who have a hard time talking to new people or feel your face turning red when you are faced with talking to others, you are most likely shy. But don't worry help is on the way. In this report we will discuss different ways to help you come out of your shell and become more outgoing. Yes, it is possible. You can do it.

What exactly is a shy person? These are people who go out shopping and are afraid to talk to the cashier. They get nervous and don't know what to say. A shy person sometimes speaks very quietly, so people will not hear them. By speaking quietly they are guarding themselves from saying something that may embarrass them.
When you are shy you will have to work at becoming more outgoing. One thing a shy person is known to do is observing other people. They feel that by observing other people they can improve themselves. A shy person is more likely to understand people since they pay more attention. If you have been shy your whole life, and have been observing people, this could give you an advantage.

Take some time and write down some things that you have observed people doing that you thought made them look great. Then write down things you saw people doing that made them look foolish. You can learn a lot from this information. By learning which things to avoid doing in order to not look foolish, you have a better chance of being able to talk to people confidently.

Another great thing about shy people is that they are curious. They spent more time reading and learning new things then people have always been confident. You can use this information to your benefit as when you speak to other people you have interesting information you can convey.

Because you have spent more time reading and learning the habits of other people, this gives you an advantage in the business world also. A shy person is hard-working, loyal and knows when to speak up. Shy people are better at dealing with people because they do not try to overpower the conversation or make other people feel foolish. This is definitely a benefit in the business world.

Take a little time each day working on things you can say to people. Start by starting up a conversation with someone at the store that you don't know. You could have a conversation already worked out in your mind and try it out. The worst thing that could happen is the person you try to talk to is not interested.

If the first person you try to talk to is not interested, try again. Once you have tackled this, it will be easier to talk to people in other situations. Keep working
at it a little bit at a time and before you know it you will learn how to become
more outgoing.

How Your Personality Is Formed From Family Life

Your family is very important to you as you spend your entire childhood with them. Many things can happen within a family that can bring out being a shy person. If your parents were the kind that said things like children should be seen and not heard. You may have grown up feeling that what you had to say it's not important. If your siblings were always teasing you and calling you a dork or telling you, you always say the dumbest things, you may have learned to just keep your thoughts to yourself.

When you are a child your family is very important to you. What your family thinks about you or tells you about yourself and helps to mold your personality. As you become an adult many of these things will follow you.

If you spent a lot of time alone when you were a child because your siblings or parents did not have time for you, you may have become introverted. If you had several siblings, it may have been easier to just have them as friends then to try and make new friends. Believe it or not an only child is more likely to be outgoing because they have no one to play with at home. If you depended on your brothers and sisters to be your friends, you may have not learned how to form new relationships with other children.

Even if you came from a very supportive family if you always depended on them for company, you may still be shy around other people. As you become an adult your siblings may still be your only friends. Maybe one way to make new friends could be to go out with one of your siblings in order to feel more comfortable, but then each of you can try to make new friends in a social setting.

The more you depend on your family for all your social life, the harder it will be for you to become more outgoing with other people. Take some time to go out and meet new people. Take an adult course at the college, join a fitness club, join a book club, or some other form of social event where you can get comfortable talking to other people to overcome your shyness.

Another thing that brings our shyness in people could be that your family was not well off and you had to wear hand-me-downs. You may have been teased by other kids at school and made to feel inferior. Because of this you may have stayed at home more than you would have liked to. Also as a child you therefore became totally dependent on your family.

Try to analyze all the reasons that your childhood may have contributed to your shyness. Figure out solutions that can help you to become more outgoing. Work on talking to people about interesting things you have read and soon you will find other people interested in what you have to say.

Each time you find yourself having a conversation with another person, you will find it easier to do it the next time. Your confidence will grow and you will start to understand that you really are an interesting person. Keep it up and you will become less shy everyday.

Build Your Courage to Overcome Shyness

Sometimes it takes courage in order to overcome shyness. Courage involves the ability to face pain, fear, danger, or anything else that you are not comfortable doing. When you have courage you can make fear disappear. Courage is a great character builder as it helps you to face many of the challenges of life.

You may be saying to yourself, I am not a courageous person. How can I achieve courage and overcome my fears? Is important that you develop courage in yourself before you try to develop it in your children or other people.

Tips for keeping your marriage strong and satisfying

1. Whether you are just married or have been together for many years, in order to build a strong relationship you must learn how to communicate effectively. Listen to your partner and be sure you understand what they are trying to convey. Give each other your full attention when you are talking. Look at your partner in the eyes when they are speaking to help you really understand them. Don't just hear. Acknowledge that what has been said is clearly understood.

2. Never assume you know how your partner feels about anything. Just because you like something don't volunteer them to do it with you. ASK! Always give them the courtesy to see if they want to do it.

3. Catch them doing something good. When your partner does something good, Say, I caught you! Then proceed to thank them for doing such a wonderful thing and tell them how much you appreciate it. You'll be surprised how far a little appreciation goes. When you make an effort to let your partner, know they made you happy you will find they will try to repeat doing kind things for the recognition.

4. Do something together every week that you both enjoy. Take classes together, go hiking, fishing, read poetry to each other. Find any interests that you can share and do these things often.

5. Be your partner’s best friend. Cheer them on when they are working toward something they want. Hold their hand when they need it and give them a shoulder to cry on. Share dreams and goals and work together. Let them know you are proud of them when they accomplish goals.

6. Never neglect your partner. Don't get so wrapped up in your own life that you completely forget the everyday niceties. Kiss and hug them every day. Don't spend the whole weekend out with friends or watching TV. Make it a point to do something each weekend with your partner and you will grow closer together and have more in common to talk about.

7. “Never go to bed angry” sometimes this can be hard to do however, it is so important. Once you let an anger simmer for too long, it becomes much easier to come to a full boil and before you know it, you never work out any problems you just go to bed or leave the house to avoid them.

Learn to agree to disagree if need be to keep the peace. This will only work if you are totally honest about agreeing that it is ok to disagree at times especially if it is a minor problem. Don’t waist time being angry about the small things?

8. It is OK to admit you are wrong. If you are wrong, admit it. Your pride will not keep you warm at night and a bad marriage is a high price to pay for it. You can live together in harmony despite your individual differences. Practice these things and be sure to work out any fights before you go to bed.Love and cherish each other. Build a strong bond by being loving and honest with each other.

Building Trust to Build a Better Relationship

Are you honest with your partner? Are they honest with you? If you want to have, a healthy relationship is imperative that you are completely honest with each other. Once you have caught, or have been caught in a lie is very difficult to trust each other.

When you trust each other, you will not need to wonder what the other one is doing when you are not together because you will know that they are trustworthy. Telling the truth helps maintain your faith in each other and strengthens your relationship. Without trust it is nearly impossible to have strong, loving, lasting relationships. So before you go and tell a lie to a partner, think twice.

When you are honest with your partner, you show them respect for their feelings. Honesty is the very foundation of any good relationship. By being true and honest you are expressing your love to your partner. Everyone deserves honesty.

Follow these simple tips to build a strong relationship

1. Be honest about your job, the hours you work, your pay, and the people you work with. If you have a meeting with someone of the opposite sex, don't tell your partner you are working with someone else. You may think you are sparing their feelings of jealousy. However, if they find out, you were not truthful the first thing they will think is you are hiding something. You will at times have to work with others that your spouse could be jealously of, however if you have an honest relationship this would not be the case as you would have trust between you.

2. Do not tell your partner that you have the same dreams and goals if that is not the case. When they ask you to start working on them, you will become bored and resent doing it. Then if you blurt it out that you never wanted this anyway, how do you think they will feel?

3. If your partner asks you what's wrong, tell them and be honest. Don't say, “Nothing” when it is, something. Tell your partner the truth and work it out. Unless you are open and honest about your needs and wants, how can they help you achieve them?

4. You should both be honest about how you feel about each others friends. If your partner has a friend which you, absolutely cannot stand, don't tell them you like them or you'll wind up doing things with them and resent it. Work it out so that when you go out with friends as a couple you go with the ones that you both like. When you go out alone with friends choose the one's your partner would rather not hang out with.

The best way to show respect for your partner is to be honest with them. After all if you can't be honest with them, who can you be honest with? Remember that being honest will build a strong foundation for a long and happy relationship.
