The first goal of any search engine optimization strategy is to get your web pages indexed. But even before that can happen, you need to get the search engine crawlers to visit your website.

Depending on the search engine or directory and the overall circumstances (how you invite and solicit crawlers), that first visit could take days, weeks, or even months.

And while it’s true that the initial crawler visits can be somewhat unpredictable (or takea long time in coming), once the ice is broken, future visits can be controlled to some degree…

Basically, the more frequently you update your pages, the more frequently the crawlers will show up on your website doorstep.

Of course, that’s only half thebattle. The other half is getting the search engines and directories to actually index your pages.

In order to do that, you need to start at the beginning. And the beginning in this particular instance is developing and enhancing pages in such a way thatthe search engine crawlers will be impressed.

The overall search process is simple…

All the text content that search engine crawlers gather is stored and indexed. People conduct searches based on certain phrases (keywords). Whatever content possesses the most relevancy with regard to any given keyword will be placed in the top positions of the search results.

And since the title of the page and the text content generally carry the most weight -at least with regard to what search engine crawlers deem most relevant during their visits -it stands to reason that improvement in page rank and/or search results listing can most often be attributed to having individual and specific keywords properly incorporated into those two prime areas.

Of course, if keywords were the only basis for which page rank and position in search results were determined, optimizing web pages would be pretty much cut and dried…

pick a keyword > use it in your title and throughout your content > achieve high page rank and top position in search engine results

The problem is, there are so many variables that not only come into play but change on a regular basis, it can seem as though achieving solid and effective search engine optimization might never be possible.
Fortunately, it’s not only possible, it can be relatively painless as well. All you have to do is satisfy the top three requirements of pretty much all major search engines…

•provide quality content

•update content on a regular basis

•get numerous top-ranking websites to link back to your site

And the search engines and directories you should be trying to impress the most are the top four contenders…

Google

Yahoo
https://www.yahoo.com
MSN Search
https://search.msn.com
DMOZ (Open Directory)
https://dmoz.org

Beyond that, there are countless other search engines and directories like AltaVista, Ask Jeeves, and AllTheWeb.

Should you optimize for those as well, or simply level your sites on the major players and bypass all the search engines and directories below them? Not necessarily. You still want your pages listed in as many locations as possible. You just shouldn’t try to satisfy every one of them with regard to optimization.

Satisfy the top four contenders. Then, if you have the time and ambition to broaden the scope of your SEO efforts, do it. If not, don’t worry about the hundreds (or even thousands) ofother search engines and directories that exist.

You’re only human. And just meeting the optimization criteria of the top four is going to be challenging and energetic enough.

Of course, unless you plan to make search engine optimization your life‘s work, it’s not likely you’ll invest most of your energy in that one single area (even when restricted to the top four players). But you do need to invest a fair amount of quality effort.

And that basically equates to these two missions…

1. Get your pages indexed by major search engines.
2. Improve your page rank and position in search results.

In order to accomplish both of those, you need to carefully balance the line between good optimization techniques and the urge to take things a bit too far.

In other words, you need to make certain you carry out your two missions without stepping over the line into what’s commonly referred to as “black hat” search engine tactics.

Their problem can be explained in the old saying that points out that if we do not know where we are going, any road will be the right one. And better yet, ‘if we do not stand for something, we will fall for anything.' In other words, if we do not understand ourselves, this includes our hopes, dreams, and aspirations, it will be easy for just about anyone to push us into a decision we will 7 regret for the rest of our lives. Living down a choice you regret, especially if you have to face its consequences on a daily basis, is going to be one of the hardest things you have ever had to do. Living with the burden of these choices is part of the reason many people are so bitter and unkind. This is not the way I want you to navigate through your life.

When we take the time to understand who we truly are, the intricacies of our own personalities, we will have the keys to unlock our true potential. You cannot become your best self if you do not know what that entails. When you understand yourself, you are more likely to end up choosing a career that you love. And it is quite easy to be passionately driven to achieve great things when you are pursuing a career that you love.

Additionally, when you are at the top of your game, you will seek out the kind of partners and friends that will make you happy and thus bring out the best in you. They will understand the way you think and may very well think the same way you do too. These are the kind of people who will not laugh at your dreams or be jealous of your success. Being surrounded by loving, supportive people, will make you a kinder, happier and dare I say, more successful person.

Individuals who have a deep understanding of themselves, are often more decisive and optimistic. That is because these individuals are in full control of their life choices and they chose well. They are more likely to see opportunities where others see setbacks. It also takes far less effort to be productive when you enjoy what you do. Additionally, the fact that you enjoy your career will give you a competitive edge and you will not depend on the praise of others for motivation. The satisfaction of a job well done will keep you pushing forward.

I know that these may seem like ideal circumstances, where our choices are not dependent on the desires of our family and where we are all strong enough not to succumb to the pressure they will put on us to make a certain decision. But believe me, knowing and truly understanding yourself will open doors to opportunities you would have never seen coming otherwise. It will be easier for you to stand up to the pressures around you when you know without a doubt what the right decision for you will be. I am not encouraging you to shrug your responsibilities of providing for your family, I am encouraging you to understand who you are and be true to who you are at all times. You will be much happier as a result, and far easier to love, when you are not carrying the heavy weight of a bad decision around for the rest of your life.

How to Get to Know Yourself

This is easier said than done, but it is not impossible. You can start with some objective assessment. This does not mean simply asking the people around what they think of you. Your interactions with them, whether negative or positive, will prevent them from being as objective as you need them to be. A better option would be making use of a reputable personality test. One of the popular options is the Myers-Briggs Personality type test. This test will determine which of the 16 personality types of this theory best describes who you are. It has gained popularity in recent times because its results can be used to determine the environment you work best in and even how you interact with the people around you. Plus whether you like the results or not they tend to be surprisingly accurate.

Career aptitude tests are another great option. These are designed to help you understand your skill set better and how you can use these skills to select the right career. It is never too late to start a career that you can love.

Once you have a carefully thought out plan that will allow you to care for your responsibilities and still venture into a field that you love, go for it. It might be a case that money is tight and you are already strapped for time and may not be able to make a move right now. But I would encourage you to continue preparing yourself. Keep learning all that you can about that career online or from the people around you. That way, if the opportunity should arise, you will be in a position to take it.

Once you have taken the time to learn about yourself, you may find some dirty laundry and hidden scars that you probably would have rather kept hidden. Unfortunately, you have been wearing these scars every day in the way you interact with those around you. These scars could have made you too soft to express how you feel or too cold to care about the feelings of others. Now that you can see yourself clearly, become the best version of yourself. Love yourself. And above all else, be true to yourself. Knowing your limits is another important skill to master in order to navigate through this crazy world successfully. This will be discussed in the next chapter.

This will be one of the longer sections of this ebook, but it is the most important one to follow along with, as it covers the one thing you must have going for you to get your list going!

The first thing you must have in place to start your list building efforts is a lead magnet. For those that already have a lead magnet, and are looking to build their lists you may pick up some methods in this section that will help you enhance your lead magnet to increase your conversions.

Here are 6 examples of really-good lead magnets you can create to give away. Remember, the more exciting your offer sounds, the more people will gladly give up their email addresses to receive it.

1. Top Tips PDF Report

This can be a list of tips that will help people solve a problem that they are seeking a solution to. For example, if you are a tax accountant offering CPA services, then you could write a report called: “The Top 8 Tax Savings Every Small Business Owner Needs To Know About”.

If you were a small business looking for help with taxes, then you better believe that would capture your attention, and get you to give up your email address!

In this report, you can share the top 8 tax savings tips, and even do a paragraph or page at the beginning and end that sends people to your website for more information.

If you are an affiliate marketer with content sites selling people on mattresses, then you could do a report called: “How To Find The Perfect Mattress For You”. Then you create a short 3 to 5 page report explaining your tips for finding the perfect mattress.

To give you one more example let’s say you sell pet products on an ecommerce store you could create a report that says “6 Pet Products Every Dog Owner Can’t Live Without!”

That would be attractive on your site, and would generate those email subscribers that you can then follow up with later when you have sales on your store, and inside the report you can could of course recommend 6 products from your store with direct links!

If you are stuck for ideas that your market wats look at Q&A sites like https://answers.yahoo.com or www.quora.com. You can also do a search for your niche keyword phrase like “pet products”, “small business taxes”, or “mattresses” into www.youtube.com or www.google.com and look at the ‘Suggested Search Phrases’ that come up!

Browse forums in your market, or even look at top selling books within your niche on Amazon. Just think creatively and start writing. It is conceivable to write your entire lead magnet in just a few hours from start to finish!

Once you’ve done that, you have the means to collect and send emails, which means the only thing left for you to do is to write said emails. Guess how much writing an email costs? And it barely takes any time either (remember: time is money!). In short, this is an incredibly quick and cost effective way to start marketing.

Another stat that’s interesting is the fact that 91% of consumers check their email every single day. That’s a huge statistic but in reality it’s probably rather conservative. The reality is that most of us check our phones not only every single day but countless times throughout the day.

The reason for this is that we get a notification each time we get a new email. There is no way for us to miss an email, which stands in stark contrast to a Facebook post or a Twitter Tweet which is very easy to miss.

In fact, the main way that you tend to hear about new Facebook posts is via email.

Think about the Facebook pages that you have Liked. Can you honestly say that you get 100% of the messages that any of them put out? The answer for most of us is ‘no’ and the obvious reason for that is that we’ll only check Facebook every now and then and even then, we’ll likely only see a small percentage of what’s on offer because that’s what will make it to our homefeed. The only way we would stand a chance of seeing 100% of the content from a given page is if we were to manually navigate to that Facebook page every single day and scroll down through the posts.

The first and most important consideration is simply that email marketing is much more personal as compared with other forms of marketing. When you send someone a message via email, you

If you have the skills to create new software, then this can be a tempting option. The media loves to tell us stories about hot new Silicon Valley startups and the founders of tech companies who cashed out for millions after their company went public. So we think starting an online business means doing something similar. SaaS products are exploding right now, which makes sense, as they can be quite lucrative. Since almost every SaaS product has a rebilling feature, each customer can have a significant lifetime value that allows these companies to lose money on the initial acquisition of a customer, but still make a profit down the road due to that customer’s continuous usage of the software. SaaS products are allowing small businesses more than ever to have high level infrastructure without the high level IT costs that would be associated with them building their own software. SaaS products are everywhere, from accounting and sales CRMs to even writing solutions for fiction authors. • Business Model #3 – Amazon Affiliate Amazon is among the oldest online affiliate program in existence. It is also one of the most trusted online brands around, which means it can convert highly. People will often create portfolios of these styled sites, usually where they are reviewing various products. Similar to Adsense, this is a very easy place for a newbie to start out, and an expert can make it into quite a lucrative endeavor. • Business Model #4 – Affiliates Similar to the Amazon affiliate business model, you simply sign up to sell different products, and build sites around those products or services.
