Choosing your recording: 1 hour of training will make a “short story” sized Kindle book. Choose a few related trainings to create a Kindle book that’s more “book length.” This step takes 5-10 minutes.

Have a transcription service transcribe your training audios into a text format: You’re almost done! This step takes 5-10 minutes (maybe a little longer to find the transcriptionist for your first Kindle, but you can use her every time now). Clean up your Kindle book: This step is what really takes the most time, but it’s simple work. You need to go through your transcript and change it from “spoken word” to “written word.” When you read the transcript, it will read just like you spoke it originally – which is great for live teaching, but you’ll want to make sure it flows well in written format.

You’ll also probably pick out a few places where your transcriptionist was inaccurate in her work (if there are too many of these, though, you should find a better transcriptionist to keep on standby). This is also the time to determine chapters, headings, and subheadings for your book. You may decide to re-arrange material in a way that makes more sense for a book. That’s fine, too.

Formatting your Kindle is fairly simple, because the “hard” work will be done by the guy or gal you hire for $5 on Fiverr to convert it to Kindle format!

But you’ll want to break it up into chapters, if applicable, and name each chapter. You should also go through and add subheadings within the chapter. Remember, people will be reading this on a screen, so having headings, white space, etc. makes reading easier just as it would in a blog post.

If your Kindle book has chapters, you can use Word’s table-of-contents builder to put one in your book after the title page. Your worker can make this “clickable” on Kindle/ Tablet/PC.

Commission a cover for your Kindle book: You will almost certainly want to hire someone to create the cover for you. Fiverr is a great place to find someone to do this. I recommend you first take a few minutes to visit Amazon.com and check the bestselling books in the niches you’re interested in.

You’ll get a lot of results!

Kindle cover artists on Fiverr change, so take a few minutes to click on relevant gigs (a job on Fiverr is called a “gig”) and pick an artist with sample covers that you like. When you choose someone you like, take a look at their estimated delivery time to be sure it works with your timetable. Remember, you’ll need time to get the cover and you’ll need time for the Kindle file conversion.

Then you can order the gig. When you’re writing what you need to your Fiverr artist, provide all the information that he/she asks for (usually title, author, etc.) – and also link to the covers you liked in the Amazon bestsellers. This is VERY important because it gives your artist an idea for the “look” you want in your book’s cover and you’re much more likely to get a cover you’re pleased with… and a cover that catches attention on Amazon.com

Remember, you’re paying $5 to get this done – take a few minutes to give the artist a good idea of what you’re looking for and don’t have unreasonable expectations of how many revisions you can get for that price. You can get a great cover if you do a little work to help your artist - and pick an artist with a nice portfolio similar to what you’d like (probably non-fiction book covers!).

Chapter 1: An Introduction to the Kettlebell

So let’s start right at the beginning. What is a kettlebell? Where did it come from? And how do its unique properties make it such a truly effective training tool?

Essentially, the kettlebell is a small weight that can be used to provide external resistance in a manner very similar to a dumbbell. It has a handle and it comes in a range of different weights, allowing you to curl it or press it in just the same way.

The difference is in how the handle is positioned in relation to the weight. Rather than having weights on either side and a bar in the middle, the kettlebell is essentially a large, cast-iron ball that you can grasp in one hand from the top. This means that when you curl the kettlebell, the weight will hang underneath your hand and shift position in accordance with gravity so that it will always be pointing down toward the ground.

This adds a lot of extra movement to what is otherwise a fairly static and unchanging exercise. As the weight shifts, so does the angle of the resistance and this alters the precise muscles that will be involved in the exercise. In particular, the forearms are far more involved in a kettlebell curl than they would normally be.

What’s more interesting still, is that the kettlebell allows you to hold it from a variety of different angles. You can grab it from the top for instance, or you can hold the ball itself with both hands. And if you swing the kettlebell by exercising using a rapid motion, then you can add an extra dimension of momentum. Suddenly, the kettlebell gains its own force and trajectory and you now have to compensate for that while you’re lifting.

This is where the true challenge of using a kettlebell comes in, because you are now going to have to constantly adapt to the changing angle, momentum and trajectory of the kettlebell. This in turn means you need to maintain your balance using your stabilizing core muscles, you need to grasp hard onto the handle using your grip and you need to recruit supporting muscles that you probably go long stretches without using the rest of the time.

This is what is meant by functional strength and it’s what makes the kettlebell much more potent as a training tool than any dumbbell or barbell ever were.

A Brief History of the Kettlebell

But where did the kettlebell come from? And why is it only now making its way into gyms?

Actually, the kettlebell is anything but a new fad and can instead be traced back to the 1700s in Russia. In Russia, kettlebells are known as girya and are traditionally made from cast iron or cast steel. There’s even a sport in Russia dedicated to kettlebell training called girevoy sport. Kettlebells even have their own unit of measurement – the ‘pood’ – which is 16 kilograms!

When kettlebells were initially invented though, it was not for the purpose of strength training or for sport. Rather, they were designed for weighing crops and were used by farmers. What happened though, is that those farmers found themselves becoming buff, which led to them display their feats of strength during festivals. This obviously got the attention of the burgeoning health and fitness industry, as well as the Soviet army who introduced them as a part of their physical training and conditioning programs in the early 20th century.

Kettlebells would also become popular among ‘old time strongmen’ who would demonstrate their power and size in travelling circuses alongside many other tools that allowed them to display this ability.
And then, they just kind of faded away…

Until the early 200s that is, when they started to make a comeback. So what happened?

As mentioned, kettlebells became popular partly as a result of a greater understanding of functional fitness. As our understanding of health and fitness has progressed, so we have found new merit in old tools that allow us to use our bodies in more dynamic and challenging ways.

A few pioneers helped to spearhead this movement. One was the now-legendary Pavel Tsatsouline who published the book Enter the Kettlebell: Strength Secret of the Soviet Supermen and went on to appear on several high-profile blogs and podcasts. Another was Tim Ferriss, who became a champion of the kettlebell on his own blog and in his book The 4 Hour Body.

The kettlebell was then quickly adopted by the highly divisive CrossFit movement – and whether you love or loathe that particular school of training there is no denying that it has had a huge impact on the industry.

Is the kettlebell just a fad then, that is likely to drift out of popularity like yoyos and Pogs? Unlikely: the kettlebell, if anything, is a return to a time when we were more focussed on actually getting stronger and more athletic rather than just looking good. And hopefully that’s not a fad at all! If anything, the kettlebell is something we should see more and more of as we continue to take mobility and functional movement seriously.

But don’t think that it won’t benefit you if you market to older markets. Over half of new signups are for people who are over age 25. They may not use the site as regularly as the younger crowd, but they are there, and they are ready and willing to buy.

It is estimated that over 150,000,000 people use the app daily, and over 10 billion videos are watched each day. That’s a massive user base that you shouldn’t ignore.

Not only that, the site is actually an effective marketing tool, as well. Snapchat ads get twice the visual attention of Facebook ads, 1.5 times more attention than Instagram ads, and were 1.3 times more effective than YouTube ads.

The Basics of Snapchat

Snapchat is seen as pointless by a lot of marketers, but that’s great for the rest of us because there’s less competition. A lot of people think it can’t possibly be all that useful since Snaps disappear not long after they’re viewed, but this is one of the things that makes Snapchat so powerful.

See, sites like Instagram and Pinterest actually capture too much attention for many users. They spend too much time there, and later regret that time spent because it could have been used for something more productive.

Snapchat alleviates that by making it quicker and easier for users to make use of the site. They see content, and later it’s gone, so it’s less distracting.

Let’s take a quick look at how Snapchat works.

Users can send Snaps, which are picture or videos, to their followers. Once the Snap has been viewed, it disappears shortly after. Users can take a screenshot during that time if they want, but otherwise the content is gone.

There are also Stories that appear for 24 hours. They can be much more affective than single Snaps, however you need to have a theme for your Stories. You can’t just post a bunch of Snaps as a Story and expect people to be impressed.

Snapchat Success

For example, if you wanted to show someone how to make your favorite craft project, you could show each step with a series of Snaps. Each Snap in the Story could be a 2-minute video, with a total of 10 Snaps (20 total minutes).

The app is also remarkably easy to use. If you can take a picture, you can use Snapchat. It really is that easy.

Marketing on the app takes a bit more effort (or at least thought), but once you get the hang of it, you’ll see it quickly becomes second nature. It’s actually quite similar to Instagram, and if you’ve ever used that app, it should be even easier to pick up Snapchat.

Snapchat Demographics

Snapchat’s user base is relatively young, but that number is changing. About 71% of the app’s user base is between the ages of 18 and 34. From a marketer’s perspective, that’s generally a blessing since that’s usually the age range that is so profitable for marketing purposes.

Because the user base is so large, the remaining 29% of users that are not in that age range is still a very large number. With over 150,000,000 people using the app daily, there are at least 50 million or so that are over, or under, the age of 18. That’s still huge!

The number of those over 25 is also growing rapidly. Remember that more than half of new users are over 25, which means that the older audience is growing at an astonishing rate.

It’s more difficult to tell exactly how many users are female vs. male. Snapchat doesn’t make that information public. The CEO said in 2013 that about 70% of its users were women, but that number may have changed somewhat since then.

In 2015, a study at Harvard showed that about 42% of the 18-to-29-year-old females they surveyed said they used Snapchat, but only 31% of males in the same age range said they did. But that still means there are a lot of male users on the site in addition to females.

So no matter what you’re marketing, you will find your average user on Snapchat.

Basic Setup

Getting started on Snapchat is quick and simple. The first thing, of course, is to download the app. You can download it for iOS or Android, so you can use it on most current devices.

You’ll have to create an account before you can use the app. You must be sure to choose the right username, because once you’ve created it, you can never change it. You should take some time to think about the username you want before you make a decision. You might use your own name, or your business name, depending on your purposes.

If you’re promoting a brand, you’ll probably want your username to be the name of your brand. But if you’re marketing services or something specifically under your name (such as your books if you’re an author), you’d probably be better off using your name.

If you’re already on Twitter, Instagram, or other services with a specific username, you’ll probably want to use that same username on Snapchat to make it as easy as possible for people to find you on Snapchat (or for Snapchat users to find you elsewhere.)

When you have selected your username and finished signing up for your account, you’ll need to find some people to follow. This is easy to do if you already have some usernames to follow, but there’s no search feature built into the app (other than finding people who live near your location), so if you don’t already know some usernames, you’ll have to look some up.

One example would be a native ad campaign set up as a lead page in order to generate and collect subscribers or leads, but is made to resemble a high quality article, relevant to the niche you are targeting.

A traditional landing or squeeze page usually includes a headline, an opt-in form and a few bullet points outlining what the person will receive after subscribing to a newsletter, and the call to action. There isn’t a lot of content or value that is visible upfront.

There are many different ways to incorporate your advertising message into native advertising campaigns, but here are the three major types of native ads that you are likely to encounter.

Sponsored Content

The most effective type of sponsored content is when you cleverly design ads that are meant to educate and inform, rather than directly sell. In turn, you are maximizing brand exposure, and consistently building brand recognition (which will automatically increase sales). Sponsored content doesn’t look like your typical advertising, at least not to the average visitor, or reader. If done correctly, your sponsored ad will blend in with the existing website content, providing real value to its readers, while giving them an authentic, and positive user experience.

Many people think of sponsored content as just blog posts or articles. In reality, sponsored content could also include Pinterest posts, Native Advertising Secrets Instagram posts, YouTube videos, or even BuzzFeed listicles (list articles).

One of the most important elements of a successful sponsored content ad is to make sure that it is created so that it feels natural on the platform that it’s being featured on. Publishing networks make money by offering campaigns that typically run on a PPC model. These ads are embedded into the content or theme in some way as to provide a more authentic experience for readers, and quite often will look exactly like other areas of the website such as navigation menus, or other internal links so that readers don’t see them as advertisements at all.

Social Ads This method of advertising on in-feed social ad networks is one of the easiest places to start if you’re new to native advertising. In-feed ads are those you’ll find on places like your Facebook News Feed, where box-type advertisements will be shown right along with updates from friends and family. In-feed social ads don’t always include a call to action within the ad itself, but instead will direct people to a landing page or product information page where you can capture the lead. You can also find in-feed social ads on Linkedin, Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest. Ever see those YouTube videos that you can skip after 5 or 10 seconds? Those are in-feed ads!

The Quick Start Method

Do you know what the easiest method is for creating a high converting landing page for your native ads?

Create a high quality blog post!

Start by deciding on the topic you want to write about. Then, create (or outsource) a killer content piece that is ultra-focused on your market. Make sure it’s informative, entertaining or fun (or all of the above!). Your content doesn’t have to just be textual. Perhaps you have video content you can implement into the blog post, or you have a PowerPoint presentation that you’d like to feature. Whatever you choose, make sure that it provides exceptional value to your target audience, and is relevant to a product or service you are interested in promoting.

If you want to guarantee that it’s a hit, use content from any other platform that you are on that has yielded results. Have you had a newsletter perform better than usual? Have you ever ran an ad campaign on Facebook that yielded incredible results? Analyze your most recent successes, and create a blog post based on that material.

Just remember:

Provide exceptional value. Don’t be afraid to over-deliver on content. Give your best advice, your insider strategy, your best tip.

Make sure its relevant and targeted. You should know your audience better than anyone. Make sure your native-ad landing page provides the kind of information they are hungry for.

Call to Action. Don’t forget to motivate visitors and remind them of the value in subscribing to your newsletter or mailing list.
