Do not just think of earning enough. You need to think long term and build a business that is sustainable.

It is like shooting for the stars. If you shoot for the stars, you might not be able to clear the skies, but at least, you will be able to cross the fence.

If you aim too low or too short term, you will fail easily because more than often, we usually don't usually accomplish our goals to our expectations.

Build your business around your interests

In some business models like blogging, you must be passionate about what you are doing.

If you do not build your business around your interests, people will be able to sense it. It would look fake and you will not be able to sustain your interests. Before long, you will be thinking about giving up.

If your business if focused on your interests, you will not feel as though you are taking another job. After all, having ONE job is already bad enough. We want to FREE ourselves from our job, not get another one.

Invest your salary into your business

Certain business models require you to make some investments. Like outsourcing, buying domain names, paid traffic and others. Do not believe the myth that it doesn't cost money to build a business online it is inexpensive but NOT free.

The advantage of having a job is that you can invest some of your salary to get things done. After all you only have 4 hours and the weekends to build your business. You must learn to invest your time AND money wisely to achieve maximum results.

Putting up with negative people

The idea of making money online is a foreign concept to many people. If you tell them that you want to quit your job within 6 months, they will look at you with a strange look in their eyes.

In some cases, they will try and discourage you, so you must have very clear goals otherwise; you will never be able to quit your job within 6 months (or in some cases 2 years). You don't want people to laugh at you if you don't reach your 6 month goal so you must succeed AT ALL COSTS!

An even better way to test your list's desire for a particular piece of information is to announce a free teleseminar to them, then see how many show up. If a large percentage of your list calls in, it's a good bet they're interested in your call topic.

HINT: Teleseminars also make GREAT products or bonuses themselves if you record them and sell them after the fact. In fact, sometimes I'll announce a paid teleseminar rather than a free one.

Why?

Because then I know people will pay money for that information, an even better test indicator. They are voting with their wallets. Plus I can always sell the call recording after the fact as well.

Another technique to test whether this niche is built up of buyers or tire-kickers and freebie seekers is to promote an affiliate product within that niche.

If the product content is similar in nature to what you want to create as your product, it's a good indication that you have the potential to get a similar percentage to buy yours. Just make sure it's either a non-competing product or a front-end sale. If it's a front-end sale, you'll develop a mid or back-end product.

Bear in mind that in the case of the latter, you'll get less of a percentage to buy (compared with the percentage who bought your affiliate front-end product), but you may make up the difference and then some with a higher ticket item.

The beautiful thing is, once I confirm a niche will be profitable, with this approach I already have a pre-built list that keeps getting bigger by the time I launch the product.

There are plenty of sites I use for research in addition to the ones above, but they are usually niche specific. These sites will help you to research practically any niche market effectively. Once you have this process down, you'll be able to do this very quickly.

There are all different formulas and methods for determining the correct price for your E-Book. Let's begin with honing in on your ultimate goals.

Decide if your goal is to get wide distribution and maximum exposure. This goal is aimed at drawing customers to your business or service, or to establishing the credibility of your reputation. If this is your main goal, you should aim to keep your price on the low side. Some authors have even priced their E-Books at a profit loss to draw a high number of new customers. The key is to find a price that maximizes your profits and the number of books you sell.

This is an excellent pricing strategy if you are looking to acquire long-term customers. Long-term customers are extremely likely to buy from you again and again as long as the first E-Book they buy is of exceptional quality and beneficial to the customer.

However, if your book contains valuable and more importantly NEW information, references, or techniques then you should aim to price it on the high end.

After you figure out your goal, you must figure out what your audience's need is for your E-Book. For example, does your book solve a particular problem? If it does, and solves it in a way that hasn't been written about in one hundred other EBooks, you will be able to achieve high sales at a high price. If your book solves a problem or answers questions in a new and unique way, you should price your book as high as you can go. You will achieve larger profits this way, but bring in fewer customers. Just make sure the question or problem that your book solves is one that is important and relevant to the majority of your market audience. If your ideas are not common knowledge, or you are presenting a brand new technique, you will be able to sell books at a high price. Just be prepared for your competition to undercut you on price as soon as they hear about your book.

Keep in mind that the above pricing strategy is temporary. Eventually, you will cease to sell books at this high price. So figure out in advance how long you plan to offer your E-Book at this high price, and when that time is up, change your pricing strategy.

If you want to see large profits over customer draw, aim for an audience that is looking for easy solutions to their problems at a low price. If your book is aimed at solving one particular problem rather than general advice, then you can charge more. Start at the highest price the market will bear to bring in the largest profits, and plan to discount the book a number of times throughout the year.
