You may have attended teleseminars that had guest speakers. This is a common practice, and it is definitely one that you might want to consider, depending on what the purpose of your teleseminar is.

In most cases, however, when you hear a guest speaker on a teleseminar call, the chances are very good that the guest speaker is actually a joint venture partner…somewhere in the mix he has a vested interest in the teleseminar being a success.

He may be the creator of the product – or one of the products – that is being sold. He may be paid for being a guest speaker. He may be volunteering as a guest speaker in exchange for promoting his website or product, or to build credibility and his brand name.

So, do you need a guest speaker? Again, that depends on the purpose and scope of your teleseminar. Are you selling someone else’s product? If so, having the product creator on the call is beneficial to you. Do you need additional content? You might find an expert on your topic that wants the opportunity to do a little self-promotion in exchange for helping you out.

Do you need an expert to deliver information that you are not an expert on? You might want to pay an expert for their time and knowledge. As you can see, there is no pat answer as to whether or not you need a guest speaker. There are too many variables to consider.

But, if you do decide that you need a guest speaker, you should definitely try to find one. You can offer to pay them a set fee, offer a percentage of the proceeds, or let them promote their product or website during the call – despite what you are promoting during the call yourself.

Your guest speaker will want to discuss the content of the call with you in advance. You might want to learn as much as you can about the speaker, and how that speaker relates to your topic, so that you can come up with a list of questions to ask the guest speaker.

This is an interview style call – where you ask questions and he answers – and the audience also gets to ask questions of their own either during the call or towards the end of the call.

If you are at a total loss, the guest speaker will often help you out, and let you know which questions to ask him. Let him know that this is your first teleseminar and you will be surprised at how helpful that guest speaker can be.

Everything is now basically in place to start creating your website.

The first thing you need to decide on is how many pages you are going to need, and what purpose each of them will fulfill. Once again, this comes back to what our site is designed to do, as this purpose will define what pages you need to include.

Let us return to DogCityTraining.com, and imagine that the site I am going to create is going to start off doing two things.

It is going to sell real world dog training supplies, but I am going to do this through a marketing methodology known as affiliate marketing. I am going to find a company on the net that is selling a suitable range of products, and sign up with them as an affiliated sales person. I will promote their products on my site at my own expense, but every time a sale is generated from my site, I will be paid a percentage of the sales revenue as a commission.

I will specifically look for a company that has already created some great advertising materials and use them on my site to promote their products, so I do not need to build a specific sales page for this product range.

However, I need somewhere that these advertising materials can be placed. Possibly the best solution would be to feature pages with interesting dog training related articles to which the ads could be attached. I will therefore need to build some article pages for my site.

Moving on to the second thing that I am going to sell, which is a book about dog training that I have written which I am going to send to customers as an instant digital download, a different approach entirely is needed.

Because this is my own product with no pre-prepared advertising or promotional materials available from anyone else, I need to create a specific sales page to promote the product. I also need a page from which the product can be downloaded.

Some method of accepting online payments direct from my sales page is necessary, ideally for a payment processing system that automatically completes the payment transaction and delivers the product to the customer.

I mentioned when talking about autoresponder accounts that collecting the names and e-mail addresses of visitors to your site is a vitally important part of your long term business building strategy.

This equally applies to DogCityTraining, so I need to include a page on my site that is specifically designed to do nothing but collect those details from as many visitors as possible.

From all of the above, it is very easy to appreciate just how important it is to have a structured site plan in place beforehand, so that you know exactly what pages you need to create before you begin building your site.

Just going into this with the vague notion of 'building a website' is never really going to cut the mustard!

Chapter Five Making maximum use of the free video sites

Here's a few pointers to help you prepare in advance:

As with most forum style sites, when signing up for YouTube and the like, you will be asked for a user name that will be displayed with your posts. It's always a good idea to devise a name to encapsulate what you are about.

If you were involved in video, you might choose "videoguy" or "videogal".

However, you naturally want your videos on high traffic sites, such YouTube (millions of views a day), so it's likely your first choice of user name, may very well be taken. So it's a good idea to create a list of alternatives, in advance, rather than trying to devise something on the fly, when your first choice is already taken.

So, in addition to your keyword rich headline, description and tags, you should be ready with a few alternative user names.

Back to college:

It's always an education to look at your competition and sites like Google Video and YouTube are no exception. One of the handy features with some sites, like YouTube, is the ability to see what tags others have used and how many views they have.

This is very helpful research for you, because you can see what sort of videos go best.

Humor:

Top of the list are funny videos, so - in a day or so -- I will be putting a video on the member's area which I have just made for a client, to give you an idea what can be done with a few captions and music - absolutely no narration.

Curiosity:

Always try and build curiosity about your product to entice the viewer to come to your site.

How To Do:

There is a complete category in YouTube for these types of video. The idea is very similar to article marketing. You give some useful - information in the video and make it clear there’s more where that came from on your website.

There is, naturally a limit to the scope of your videos, when using Photo Story, but once you create and upload a video - it will break the spell for you. Then, buoyed up by your success, you can move on to more sophisticated - yet still free - video editing software. We’ll look at that in the next chapter.

Chapter Six More free video editing software

Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker:

If you have Windows, click on your list of programs and select "Accessories", followed by "Windows Movie Maker" from about two thirds the way down the drop-down menu.

When the program fires up, this is what you will see.

This software is more advanced than Photo Story, but does not require much more skill to operate, particularly at there’s a good built in “Help” section. The big advantage with this software is you can bring in full action movie clips, music as well as create impressive transitions and other effects.

It is not quite as advanced as the Sony Movie software, although even that is now available for around $50 (maybe less on eBay).

Wot no camera?

In case you are worried you need to buy a camera and a ton of expensive equipment to use this software, fear not. You can get every conceivable type of royalty free movie clips - and even get a professional voice over for your video. So you can produce your first videos for zero with Photo Story and a very respectable more advanced version for less than 100 bucks with Windows Movie Maker.

Then, later, when you get bitten by the video bug, and begin to see the immensely profitable advantages, you can move up to the Sony Vegas
