I have mentioned affiliate marketing a few times throughout this book and you may, by now, have an idea as to what it is. As for how to turn it into an online business that will fill your pockets with money, you are probably still scratching your head.

Affiliate Marketing by definition is the act of one person (affiliate) selling the products of another person/company (merchant) for a percentage of the sale.

Simply put-if there is something online that you would like to sell, I would say there’s a 98% chance that you can find an affiliate program for it.

There are affiliate programs for information products, physical products and services. There are even affiliate programs that you can sign up for that all you have to do is supply leads to a company in order to get paid.

We are not going to go into or concentrate on one or the other, as they are all similar in the way that they work. You sign up with the merchant and are given a unique URL with your ID number. You promote the site using your unique URL to drive traffic to the merchant’s page; someone buys the product you are promoting and you get paid.

Sounds simple enough, right?

Well it is, and then again it’s not if you don’t know what you are doing. Lets dig a little deeper into this. The good news is that if you have been paying attention you already have some of the skills needed and you don’t even know it yet.

This is obviously an important factor to consider right? The first way you will make sales is obviously through the lead generation marketing techniques that we've discussed. Prospects will see your ads and click directly to your website. Your website will teach them some kind of valuable information that they've been looking for because your site will have informative reading content that specifically relates to your visitors niche area of interest.

They will be grateful for this information you give them and this is going to cause your prospects to have great respect for you. After reading the powerful information, they will trust you. They will view you as an expert in your industry and they will explore the rest of your website. In a subtle way, at the end of this information, you will have eye catching sales material but this material won't scare them away because it won't be pushy. You will only be subtly recommending your product or service. You will REALLY be selling them a product or service without them realizing they are being sold. Instead, it is thought of as a recommendation, just like the way you purchased this report.

If you recall, I didn't do anything illegal, immoral, or slick to get you to purchase this report. You won't be either. You won't sell garbage. You will be suggesting that they purchase a valuable information product from you that will make their life much easier or better for them. Your information product will promise and deliver to take away some of their pain, frustration, etc. You will also explain to them why your product is worth hundreds of dollars. Then, you will let them in on the good news that they only have to spend xxx amount for it versus the hundreds that it is worth. Then you will ask them to click on the order button.

Your order button will automatically process your orders using a service such as PayPal....just like you did when you bought this report. PayPal, and services like that, offer you the ability to accept credit cards all over the world right from your home. Then, PayPal or whatever merchant you use, will automatically deposit your money directly into your existing checking or savings account! Once you get going, this is all on autopilot and you just keep getting deposits.

It does take time to set this all up so don't misunderstand. You will have to either build your site yourself or pay someone to do all of this for you. My suggestion is to do it yourself because you'll save the money obviously but also, you need to learn how to do all of this if you are going to operate an online business. This kind of stuff is as easy as typing, copying, and pasting for the most part so don't freak out.

I didn't know squat when I got started and next thing you know, I'm accepting payments worldwide, I have forms on my website and autoresponders sending out emails for me. I mean, it's amazing what can be accomplished without knowing HTML and JavaScripts now days.

Once it is all set up, your time can be freed up to do things that matter like driving more people to your site to make more money! Placing ads or advertising will always be necessary but for the most part, you are on autopilot and you can come up with more ways to make more money while you're making money. It is a nice cycle of events. I personally have a great time setting up things like this and if you want to get going but don't want to do the work to be set up, let me know and we can work out a deal and I'll do it for you. No big deal.

The Ultimate Laminate Flooring Buyer’s Guide Give Away Rights Ebook

An amateur laminate flooring contractor will soon find that, while the product may be more affordable than a real hardwood floor, it remains a substantial home remodeling expense. You need to be sure that you get the best long-term value for your money, especially if you are servicing a home improvement loan or a home equity loan in the process.

Therefore any laminate flooring installer needs to take the warranty into account when looking at the pricing of the flooring planks. Provided that it is backed by a reputable company with a solid history, a long warranty period is usually an indication of the quality of a flooring product.

Go through the details of what is included under the warranty. The standard warranty usually covers fading, staining and wearability. Scratches are often excluded.

A sensible do it yourself installer will find out if the warranty covers accidental moisture damage. If not, he or she will make sure that this is added to the home insurance policy. The Formica flooring 'Formica' range apparently is up to coping with any type of water damage. Make sure that the particular line is approved for use in bathrooms and kitchens, otherwise such an installation won't be covered under the warranty.

It is vital that you take every precaution to make sure that the laminate flooring installation instructions are followed to the letter. Any deviation may void the warranty. Check and double check with your supplier what is required in terms of underlayment, sealing, tools, moldings and maintenance. If you use the wrong cleaning tools or solutions, you can be in big trouble. Many manufacturers specifically state that you shouldn't use waxes or polish on the floors. Don't disregard these guidelines. They are there to protect you, as well as your flooring.

Graham Cox: Why do you think so many marketers struggle to make money online?

Allan Gardyne: Probably dozens of different reasons.

I suspect a really common reason is that many give up too soon. They're misled by authors of many marketing salesletters who say affiliate marketing is "easy". It's not. It's only after you've done the hard work and are banking the checks that it seems easy.

Many newcomers to affiliate marketing buy a book on affiliate marketing and try to make money by promoting that book. Unfortunately for them, the "How to make money on the Internet" niche is intensely crowded these days. If you decide to compete in that niche, you're comnpeting with some of the smartest marketers on the planet - definitely not a good place for a beginner, unless you can come up with a really original angle that makes you stand out from the crowd.

Another reason is probably lack of focus. I've been guilty of this - starting one project for a month or so, getting bored or frustrated with it and moving on without really giving the project a proper chance to succeed.

I think when you're starting out you should choose ONE method and stick with it for at least six months to give it a fair chance of success.

Graham Cox: What would you say is the best business model for affiliate marketing (PPC, niche blogging, viral marketing etc?)

Allan Gardyne: The best business model is the one that best suits your skills and interests. I like writing, so newsletter publishing and creating niche websites filled with useful, keyword-rich content suits me. My business partner, Jay Stockwell, likes tracking and testing and analyzing data, so PPC suits him.

5 Fatal Bum Marketing Mistakes Give Away Rights Ebook

Articles travel and they can be global in a matter of days and certainly over time you can easily have a worldwide audience.

I know someone who made the mistake of including his cell phone number in an ebook, because everyone claimed that if he didn’t give out his full contact information, no one would buy from him… which is nonsense I might add.

It was a free ebook so it went viral and the effect was the same as if you put your cell phone number in an article bio box and it was published on tons of sites that you could not control.

He started getting all kinds of calls at all hours of the day. What was 3:00 in the afternoon in the Philippines was 3:00 in the morning where he lives.

It was a nuisance, and even changing his cell phone number did not completely solve the problem, because having people call a cell phone number that has been disconnected makes a real bad impression.

So, never put anything into your article that you don’t want the world to know and use.

RG: I’ve kind of touched on it already—just not really being familiar enough with a topic; going for the money instead of going for the love of a particular topic, I think, is a really big mistake, because the first objective should be to help other people and that’s how you make money, by helping other people. You don’t make it by wanting money.

GC: It’s a mindset thing and easy to fall into the trap of chasing the dollar and promoting everything under the sun, but as you say, you’ve got to provide value to your blog readers or your customers so they’re getting value and it’s a reciprocal kind of thing.

How do you research niches to find out of they’re likely to be profitable or not? You touched on that a little bit with looking at the Google results, but is there anything else specifically you might do?

RG: Checking out the products that are available, seeing if potential competitors are actually selling, finding out how much those products sell for, and then what the commission rates are. You can do that by getting a Commission Junction account or LinkShare, or if you’re going to sell information products, going into ClickBank and seeing how much those merchants pay.

That, I think, is the first consideration. The other one would be are there recurring sales, meaning, do people buy this product over time? Do they keep buying it? With dating services, a person doesn’t just buy a one-month membership and meet somebody and marry somebody; generally speaking, they hang on to a service membership for between four and six months.

If the merchant pays commissions not only on the first month’s membership, button each of the subsequent months as well, that means you’ve only had to attract that customer once but your commissions are recurring month after month as long as they hold that membership.

Another thing I particularly like is any niche that is evergreen, like business opportunities being one thing that people are always interested in, dating is another one, travel is another one. I like to work in big markets. You know there are always going to be people interested in those particular topics.

Then you can hone it in by doing research by watching the news, reading the newspapers and magazines. See what other merchants are advertising and what gets advertised over and over and over again in the back of magazines? Those things are obviously making money because money is being spent on advertising.

How To Survive The First 10 Days After Your Stroke Give Away Rights Ebook

Ebook Sample Content Preview:

Flashy, high echelon successes will tell you how a Positive Mental Attitude carries the day? Stroke victims can do a hundred “I think I can”s an hour and never make a limb move.

That poor limb might as well be attached to a grape vine for all the listening it does. Treating the residue of stroke is not easy or fun. The people that make the most progress are the ones with the most spirit. Some of the people receiving therapy at Jim Thorpe at the same time I was were so far gone I wouldn't have traded places with them in a million years.

I watched one woman struggle relentlessly for an hour just to lurch her body over on its side. In a matter of minutes her workout clothes would be drenched with sweat, but she never once quit trying while they let her stay on the mat. Day after day, she worked to achieve just that one challenge. Kids talk about their champions dancing on the football field with cheerleaders chanting away that they can do it? They pale in comparison to the kind of champion she was.

Grit, pure grit, is what carries the day for stroke victims. You feel helpless, you quit trying, and you may be in a bed for the rest of your life. Maybe you'll be in a bed forever anyway, but don't make it be a sure thing. Don't let stroke beat you.

The first thing staff did after I got settled in was to come in so they could help me “set goals.”

Goals? I had bad news for them “I don't set goals, I am here to get my body back as close to normal as I can get it. I don't need and I don't want a pack of cheerleaders rah, rah, rahing my day down the drain either.”

“You've got to set some goals.” The way she said it, I felt like it was real close to me getting kicked out of there before I got started. I reached way back in my head for something to tell her. “I don't set any goals, but I will tell you this; I'll be walking out of here on my own two feet within two weeks.”

Are you generating leads from your web presence yet?

I've found that some business owners with the best of intentions place a website or online listing on the Internet and then only remember that it's there when the time comes to pay the bill.

This isn't a slam on business owners; I'm pointing to a situation you might or might not be in right now.

The Internet is still an evolving medium, some read it like a magazine, and others watch it like Television. Still others listen to it like radio. It's somewhat hard to keep up with the trends when you have a business to run.

Have you ever flirted with the idea of direct mail? Maybe you tried it but found it too expensive and didn't get the return that you expected?

You've worked hard to get where you are and probably have developed a great base of clients to keep you busy. That's great, let me ask you a simple question; when was the last time you doubled your annual revenues? For most businesses in your field that was around year two or year three.

It seems crazy to think about doubling your revenues when you seem to be working more hours than you want to already, doesn't it? For most business owners, the thought of that kind of increase usually means adding another round of sleepless nights to make it happen.

We could use the power of targeted direct mail with the speed and efficiency of the Internet to help you double your business income. We could set it up to work in the background so that you only think about it when the time comes to make the deposits.

The secret to the strategy is in the list you develop. Who would you rather work with, someone who is convinced that you can help them overcome their problems, or someone that you have to convince after spending time and money, that you can help them?

The goal is to find the people who are easy to work with, who really want to get help and can afford it. Offer something to the general target audience that will separate those who are interested enough in your offer to take action. Thirty percent of the market is qualified to do something about their problem now.

The simple answer is no, you should always charge something...anything so that the business owners is committed to making the site work instead of “seeing how it goes”.

But if you're starting out with no confidence and no samples you could do one or two sites without money upfront.

Perhaps for a charitable organization or business owner with some influence in the business community who offers to introduce you to PAYING referrals (make that a condition of doing the work free or on a trial basis).

But be careful.

A lot of the people on this forum will continue to do sites free, cave in when business people try to pay them next to nothing for their work etc etc.

It is very important as a consultant to build the confidence in yourself you need to get people to pay you...upfront.

So while the concept of not necessarily getting people to pay you upfront is fine there are a whole pile of reasons you should get people to pay you upfront as well.

It's actually not a crucial issue though.

If the average Warrior got off his backside and started talking to business owners for a month or two he'd soon be charging one way or another.

The novelty of doing websites for other people wears off fast. Then you realize you have to get some money to make it worthwhile.
