In many cases you will develop your website on your local computer and then once you're happy with it will want to move it up to your host to make it "live" the Internet. How do you go about accomplishing that?

To move your web site to your host you will employ a program called an FTP program. If you don't have an FTP program yet I invite you to look at the "General Questions" section of this the book as I will give you a few hints on choosing an FTP program and provide some links to some excellent free ones.

OK let's assume that you have an FTP program and you have programs on your machine that you wish to transfer to your host. How'd you go about doing it?

First step is to make sure that you have all of the FTP account information for your host. Quite often if you have a CPanel the login information for your FTP will be the same but this can vary with different hosts so be sure to check with your hosting company to be sure. Once you have this information enter it into your FTP program most FTP programs will have a form of address book that you can keep the name and account for several hosts in one place. Some FTP programs will also let you keep the password stored.

On most FTP programs with a graphical user interface once the connection is made it will display the files from your own server (usually on the left hand side) and on the host server (on the right hand side).

Once you've logged into the host you will need to navigate to the directory that you wish to transfer the files. If this is your main web site you are transferring (or an installation of WordPress to use as your main web site) you likely want to go to their root of the site. Often when you login you will not be at the root of the site, in fact you'll be in a directory that's even at a lower level than the root.

To navigate to the root you will have to choose the correct directory on most hosts this directory is "public_html" but again this can vary with different hosts. Some hosts also place a link (i.e. a shortcut) that will be titled "HTML" or "www" that will link you to the correct directory. Determine what the directory is and navigate to it on the host side of your FTP connection.

On the client side navigate to the folder on your computer in which you have your web files stored. Once you have the target on the host side correct and the source on the client side correct it is just a matter of copying the files.

On many FTP programs this can be accomplished by highlighting all of the files on the client side and dragging them with your mouse to the host side. Many FTP programs also have buttons or even shortcut keys that will permit you to perform this operation simply. Note that if you have a large number of files it may take a bit of time to do this -file transfers through FTP are not as quick as ones within your own hard drive so you may have to wait a bit longer than you're used to.

When the files have been transferred your job is probably done, however note that on an FTP program you can also set file and folder permissions for files. The FTP program will most likely determine a standard set of permissions that in the majority of cases will be acceptable, however you may have scripts or other programs which need specific file or folder permissions. If this is the case please see the upcoming question on file and folder permissions for more details about setting these.

How To Create Buzz-Worthy Infographics Personal Use Ebook

Ebook Sample Content Preview:

Now we come to the heart of your Infographic creation – sharing it. What makes it buzz-worthy? Let’s just take a peep at the main reasons people are triggered to share content. They find it…

Useful – Something we find incredibly helpful often gets shared. We humans are a generous lot; and can’t wait to reap kudos for helping out our peers.

Touching – Anything that triggers our emotions deeply is liable to be passed on and shared.

Funny – Anything capable of making someone laugh out loud, right from the gut, usually gets shared. People like to be entertained – and they like things that brighten their day.

Plus, humorous content is an “easy” share – one doesn’t (usually) have to worry about offending people; and humor crosses all niches

Shocking – Anything that’s almost too amazing to be believed is irresistible. “Did you hear about the two-headed whale? Look! Here’s an actual photo!” (We all like wowing our friends.

Arresting – Not quite the same as “shocking”, arresting subjects bring depth to human experience, make us question our beliefs, jolt us out of complacency or strike us deeply with profundity.

Voyeuristic – We share this for the same reason that people stop to rubberneck at traffic accidents. We revel in other peoples’ foolishness: (“Do you believe he was stupid enough to get caught?”)

Irreverent – It’s the “naughty kid” instinct in us that loves to poke fun at institutions, authority or “the norm”. This streak of irreverence makes people share ribald jokes or satirical digs. And sometimes it’s a way that “nice” people can vicariously vent about things they secretly want to bash.

Current – Whatever peoples’ minds and attentions are caught up with at the moment will definitely go viral. For example, Kristen Stewart’s very public affair with director Rupert Sanders: Not only is she relevant and current to millions of “Twilight” fans (with the final Twilight movie about to be released – let’s not underestimate the role of the media in deciding what’s current and relevant), but if you look up Kristen Stewart and betrayed beau, Robert Pattinson, in Google Trends, his popularity is twice as intense as hers: Hence all the sympathy for him.

It's not costing you anything yet you are able to get more bang out of your buck. Well that's exactly why bonus products have always worked so well for affiliates, and always will. It's our way of increasing the value of the products we promote even though we have absolutely no part of the creation process.

We just add extra goodies to the offer that we know will help the customer and we're good to go!

So, what kind of bonus offers should you offer to potential customers?

It all depends on the type of product you are promoting. For example if you were promoting a product that taught beginners how to get involved in social media, you might offer a bonus package that included a "Cheat Sheet of Top Social Media Sites", or a package of twitter backgrounds or Facebook marketing graphics. As long as your bonus is themed to what the main product is about and extends the value in some way, it's bound to be a hot seller.

The cool thing about JVZoo is that they also offer instant bonus fulfillment so that you never have to worry about making sure bonus products are delivered to customers!

Hiring your writer is only the first step in getting your story ready for the marketplace. You still need to be involved in the creative process in order to ensure that your writer is able to take your concept and turn it into a dynamic, captivating story.

When you are just starting out, assembling your team of writers, getting used to the marketplaces and getting involved in self-publishing, it’s important that you take a hands-on approach. Even though you won’t be writing any of the stories yourself, it’s important that you understand the industry so that you can target the most profitable genres, develop stories around in-demand topics and ensure that every story published under your pen name are stories that you are proud to sell as your own.

So when it comes to the development of your first story, it’s important that you lay it all out on the line. It’s your job to create a story line, including plot and character outline so that your writer understands what you are looking for. Your story will also come out 100% better when you stay involved in the process, because while you aren’t writing it yourself, you are nurturing the story – helping to bring it to life and giving it a voice all your own.

Start off by creating a basic summary that includes the overall plot. If you are commissioning a writer to create a romance for example, you would want to give them an overview of the main characters as well as what obstacles they should encounter and how the story should end.

Success Swap Barter For Business Personal Use Ebook

Ebook Sample Content Preview:

Depending on your company, niche or market there will be unique ways of integrating a bartering based system into your business plan.

For example, if you are a company that caters to offline merchants who are interested in expanding their outreach by setting up a web presence, you could barter a variety of web-based services in exchange for a specific quantity of product. In some cases, people have even bartered shares in a company in exchange for service-based offers that guarantee an increase in profits!

The key is to trade evenly. You want to offer something of value that can be given back in equal value.

For instance, if you offer a company a specific service such as designing a website for their business, you’ll need to assign a monetary value on that particular service. That way the company understands the real value of what is being offered and can return an equal value in product.
