Delivering The Master Plan

The moment you stepped into the arena, everyone knew you were a serious blogger.

Now you can prove it by turning your words into cash using these direct ("Not so subtle touches") and indirect ("Subtle touches") monetization strategies...

The Subtle Touch: Indirect Monetization Strategies

Direct product recommendations and selling ad space aren't the only ways to make money with your blog.

Here are five indirect means of getting paid for your efforts.
Landing Freelance Writing Contracts

Your blog is proof that you're a good writer and researcher, especially when you get to the point where you have hundreds of posts on your blog. If freelance writing interests you, then your blog can serve as a springboard into this career.

There are a few directions you may go. You can offer your services as a ghostwriter, article writer or even copywriter (if you write good sales copy). Or you can write and submit articles to traditional paying media, like magazines.

If you go the ghostwriting route, then make it clear on your blog that you're for hire. You can also go to the freelancing boards (like Elance and Guru) to look for projects you'd like to do.

Getting Lucrative Book Deals

Here again, there are a couple different ways you can make money with this idea.

Turn your blog posts into a book, and either seek out a publisher or self-publish. If you self-publish, then you may look into print-on-demand (POD) services like Lulu or iUniverse.

Approach a publishing house about a book idea. Here, the idea for your book is closely related to your blog, but you're not just taking your posts and creating a book. Publishers tend to like those who have "platforms" - that is, an existing way to reach the audience. So it's to your benefit to have a blog with a large readership.

Naturally, you can also self-publish any type of book related to your blog, and then promote this book on your blog.

Creating Speaking Engagements

If you enjoy teaching from podium or stage, then you can make money speaking. (And the reason your blog makes this happen for you is because you've established yourself as an expert.)

As usual, there are a few different ways you can profit from this idea, including:

Offer offline workshops. You can create your own teaching experiences, such as weekend workshops, conferences and seminars. You may offer small events so you can work individually with the participants, or you can teach hundreds or even thousands from an auditorium. You may even invite other experts in your niche to be guest speakers.

Be a guest speaker at someone else's event. You may have other workshop organizers inviting you to speak at their events. However, you don't need to wait around for these invitations - instead, you can get in contact with organizers and let them know you're available and interested in being a guest speaker.

Offer yourself at local gatherings. You may offer to do talks at local gatherings of related organizations, clubs, charities and so on. For example, you may give a talk for a local weight-loss group. In this case you likely won't be paid directly for your talk, but you can pitch your products at the end of the talk and/or from the back of the room.

Get paid for your speeches. Finally, one of the other major ways to get paid for your speaking is by offering paid speeches. For example, if you're in the business or motivation field, you may go around to companies speak or even train them.

Remember - don't wait for invitations. Instead, create your own opportunities!

Offering Consulting

Once you've established yourself as an expert in your niche (through your blog), then you can easily start offering consulting in your field. Anyone who doubts your credentials just needs to go to your blog and spend a few minutes reading your posts.

There are a few different ways for you to advertise your consulting services, including (but not limited to) the following five ideas:

Obviously, you should create a prominent page on your blog that advertises your services.

Secondly, you do co-promotions with other marketers in your niche, where you advertise their products and services on your blog in exchange for them doing the same for you.

Third, you can post your services on classifieds like Craiaslist.

Next, you may even find projects on freelancing sites like Elance and Guru.

Finally, you may promote your services through social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and similar.

If you're using other indirect monetization tactics like speaking at your local groups, be sure to mention your consulting services at every chance you get.

Building a List

Finally, one of the last techniques you can use to indirectly make money from your blog is perhaps also one of the most powerful.

Namely, you can build a list from all the traffic flowing to your blog.

Think of it this way: A marketer without a list is like a ship without sails. Neither one of them will ever perform at their full potential. That's because what you've heard before is true: The money is in the list.

You see, there will be people who come to your site one time, like what they see, and decide they'll come back again later. They may even bookmark your blog. But things happen... and they never return.

Your blog is forgotten alongside all the other sites they bookmarked.

Think of this: If this person had remembered to come back, he probably would have become a regular reader. And if you were selling anything on your blog, there's no doubt he would have become one of your best customers.

The Google+ mobile apps are relatively straightforward. They come with five different icons and a notifications bar. The mobile app allows you to access your stream, take and upload photos, view and update your profile, and manage your circles.

Two features stand out about the Google+ mobile apps. The first is a feature called “Huddle,” which is essentially a group texting feature similar to Beluga and GroupMe. Huddle allows you to put a group of your friends together so you can send and receive group texts.

The second unique feature of Google+’s mobile apps is something called “Instant Upload.” This feature automatically takes the pictures you take and syncs them with your desktop. This makes it ultra-simple to share photos since they’re uploaded into a private album you can manage and share at your convenience.

Google+ also has a mobile interface that allows you to post updates, check what your circles are posting, comment, and +1 your friends’ posts, and update your location.

Video Profits Package Personal Use Ebook With Video

It's a dreadful feeling that nobody wants to experience. You've spent many hours and possibly many dollars creating your videos only to find that nobody is viewing them. It can be soul destroying but the good news is that with a little bit of effort and some objective self-appraisal, it is possible to come back from this desperate situation and find an appreciative audience. So where to begin?

The first thing you need to do is ask yourself a very important question. Are my videos good videos? It can be a challenge to answer this objectively (and you can't rely on friends and family either! They will always say your videos are good.). It's best to post your video for review on a forum relevant to the topic. Look for for feedback in relation to the content (is it valuable, focused and well organized), the presentation (are you interesting, is your delivery good) and the production (is the music too loud, how's the logo sting, are the graphics eye catching). You'll get honest feedback that you can use constructively to make improvements, though it may hurt a little.

Once you've established that your content is good quality, you can eliminate that as the reason for low viewing numbers. You now know that your video is worth watching, so what's happening with viewers? It may be the case that your video is not well optimized for search and therefore is not being picked up and ranked in Google or YouTube.

This can be easily fixed. Check that you have optimized the title of your video (and also saved your video filename using relevant keywords before uploading to video properties). Make sure that your description and tags are clear and concise. Use complete sentences in the description and other details like the date which allow YouTube to better index your video. Don't spam on tags. Use keywords that are relevant, not just popular as YouTube have methods for detecting 'spammy' behavior.

Once you have optimized your title description and tags, share and ping your video URL across the web. This will help bring Google's attention to your video and will in time contribute to higher organic search rankings.

Finally, try to create a community around your videos or piggy back on an established community. Always turn on embed to allow viewers to put your video on their blogs and other web properties. This creates more links that ultimately help your search ranking on YouTube and Google.

Also, YouTube consider ratings and views when ranking a video. Always encourage visitor engagement and feedback. Use annotation to remind viewers to like your video or to watch more of your videos. Invite comments. Being more proactive and engaging with your community via video responses that connect your to content with a large following is an excellent way to piggy back your way to recognition. Do everything in your power to encourage a broader community feedback system and you will see rewards.

Be aware, that it can take time to establish an audience for your videos, no matter how great they are. Be patient and persistent and in time, you will gain the appreciative audience you are searching for.

6 Steps To Success Personal Use Ebook

When you decide to have an opt-in list, it is not just a matter of sending your subscribers your promotional newsletters or catalogs. There are many things to consider in avoiding many complications. While there are so many ways you can make people subscribe to your list, there are also some things you must do to avoid subscribers from wanting to get off from your list.

Take notice of your unsuccessful sends. These are the e-mails that bounce. Bounced emails, also known as undeliverable messages, are those messages that, for whatever reason, were not successfully received by the intended recipient.

There are bounces that happen because the server was busy at that time but can still be delivered in another time. There are also bounces because the inbox of the recipient is full at that time. There are those bounce messages that are simply undeliverable ever. The reason for this is that it may be an invalid email address, a misspelled email address, or an email address that was abandoned and erased already.

Manage your list by putting markings on those that bounce. Erase an email account from your list so that you have an accurate statistics and records as to how many are actually receiving your mail. You may also want to check the spellings of your email addresses in your list. One common mistake is when an N instead of an M is placed in the com area.

Always provide an unsubscribe feature in your site and an unsubscribe link in your mails. When someone in your list files a request to be unsubscribed, always take that request seriously. If you don’t take them off your list and keep sending them your emails, you are now sending them spam mail.

When you are reported as a spammer, you and your business can get into a lot of trouble. You can be reported to the authorities and maybe blacklisted by many internet service providers. You will lose a lot of subscribers this way and many more in potential subscribers.

Do not provide pornographic or shocking and disturbing content in your newsletters. It is hard to decipher the age of the recipient and many complaints may stem from these. Controversial issues also are to be avoided to not be branded by your subscribers. Stick to the nature of your site and business.

Always remember these so that you can have a healthy relationship with your subscribers as well as be kept within the boundaries of what is allowed in sending mails to an opt-in list.

Dear Website Owner

As I’m sure you are aware, the mobile browsing market is taking off at extreme proportions. People love browsing the internet via their smart phones, iPads, tablets and other mobile devices.

But only a very small percentage of websites and blogs are actually optimized for mobile browsing and this means you could be losing lots of traffic and money.

Morgan Stanley Analyst Katy Huberty said that the number of iPhone users ‘will rise to over 100 million by the end of 2011’

You probably remember that we touched on two other areas earlier, one was called Minify and the other was CDN.

Minify

Minify basically helps to reduce load time by decreasing the size and number of CSS and JavaScript files. It also automatically removes unnecessary data from CSS, JavaScript, feed, page and post html.

Did you get all of that!

Now that’s why I set it to automatic most of the time but if you really want to go for it or you’re maybe not seeing enough improvement then you can try setting it to manual but you then need to enter quite a lot of information manually.

It’s all explained in the plugin documentation but you basically have to go through your website source code and add the information and links to your theme and other specific files, basically CSS and JavaScript files and groups.

There are also quite a few settings to play with. I’d say just try it on automatic first and if you don’t get any issues and see some good results then that is probably all you need to do.

CDN – Content Delivery Networks

The name pretty much says it all here. CDN’s are a way to deliver your content remotely from your website.

You can “host” your content, images, graphics, basically your website as static pages on networks such as Amazon S3 or Cloudflare. You’ll probably also come across terms such as “the cloud” or “cloud hosting” but it’s basically the same thing.

Amazon S3 is easy to use and very reasonable pricing depending on how much content you host there and you can store just about any files on their massive servers.

You can manage your files easily using the Amazon S3 organiser for Firefox which works similar to well known ftp clients such as Filezilla which you’re probably familiar with.

There are a few wordpress plugins to help with CDN integration including the feature in the W3 total cache plugin we saw earlier, but if you really need to use a CDN then you might want to check out the free version of Cloudflare.

Cloudflare optimizes and speeds the delivery of your content to your users and there are also some pretty good security protection features as well.
