Mark: Exactly! With videos, almost 90% of the time there's a comedy element to them. But with a report for a particular niche, you want to help people. And if your report does that, it'll get passed around.

Terry: Excellent! Now how about if you send out a report and you let people brand it with their affiliate link. Then it goes viral even faster. How can you let people co-brand your report? Is there a special way to do that?

Mark: Yeah there’s a piece of software called Viral PDF. Basically you could do just like Terry said. Put your links in there and let your affiliates rebrand it with their affiliate link. Then when they send it off, they get commissions from the report. So they're motivated to send and promote it, because they getting money every time people buy a product.

Terry: Exactly! So it becomes more viral, because people have an incentive to send it further. They've got their link in it as well.

Mark: Exactly!

Terry: Excellent! As far as video, is there any way to brand a video? So if I want to send a video for one of your products, for example, can I brand that video with my affiliate link?

There’s one thing that I would recommend with this. You can be like me and halfheartedly approach this and make a little bit of money. It’s certainly an additional revenue stream for me. Or you can be like Jeff who goes full on with this and make a significant amount of money with your list.

I think that if you really want to do that and you’re not sure how, take some of the action items that Jeff talked about and see how to implement those.

Who are the people that you subscribe to that you buy from? Why do you buy from them? What’s your feeling or your takeaway from those e-mails that they’re sending you?

I highly recommend mirroring what those folks do. I know Jeff kind of pokes fun of things in his e-mails. I know he talked about revealing some of our New Orleans secrets which I’m going to have to hope that Jeff keeps between us!

If you like what Jeff does; how he talks to his subscribers and the things that he lets you in on; how he explores the affiliate programs that he’s promoting so that you get a bird’s eye view of them, then pattern what you’re doing after what Jeff does.

Or if you like Frank Kern, he’s a good example. A lot of people like the way he does e-mail marketing. It’s okay for you to kind of mirror what those folks are doing.

Jeff: Definitely. I totally agree. Why don’t you go on to Number 2? I’ll let you take the first crack at Number 2.

John: The second item here would be Creating a Replicable Sales Process. I think that for some folks who have a lot of experience, they’re very familiar with sales processes and are probably able to delve into a pretty deep sales process pretty quickly.

However, for those who are just getting started or maybe haven’t had a lot of success online yet, I think that a lot of folks – especially if they’re buying a lot of Internet marketing products – look at a sales process as a front-end product and maybe an OTO.

The reality is that you can do so much more with your sales process and you can do it in a way that’s less effort for you. You’re going to pick up money that you’re definitely leaving on the table, and in a way that’s almost like copy-and-paste for you.

Keyword Research is the heart of all PPC campaigns and anything you are marketing online. It is very important to be targeting the right keywords, ones that convert into to customers/buyers.

Keyword research used to be a very time consuming task, but with the advancement of technology that is no longer the case. I will be listing all the top keyword research tools and how to use them to dominate your competition.

Keywords are very important when deciding your PPC campaign; they can make your advertising campaign much more successful. Finding your keywords however can be very difficult, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Before choosing keywords it is very important to choose your budget. Not all people that are setting up PPC campaigns have the same size budgets. Big companies may be able to afford thousands of dollars per day running their PPC adverts. It is very important to carefully monitor your online adverts to make sure that they are performing correctly.

If you are a sole trader, or small company then you probably handle all of your PPC advertising requirements by yourself because you can’t afford to hire an external agency to run it for you. Almost everyone will run their campaigns themselves at least at first, after which point they may look at automating their PPC adverts.

It can be very time consuming to monitor your keywords; however it is something that you should do. An advertising firm might be beneficial; however they will normally charge 15% fees and have a $1,000 per month minimum adverts. Few people will be able to afford to pay for this.

When choosing keywords you should be careful not to use general keyword phrases. These are often too broad and will not target your adverts closely enough. If you sell patio furniture for example then many people might want to use phrases such as patio furniture and outdoor furniture. However it’s not a good idea to use these general terms as they cost more, and do not yield targeted results. Advertising on PPC adverts costs different prices depending on the keywords you choose, the more competitors for the chosen keyword, the more expensive the advert will cost.

There are also other problems associated with choosing general keywords, and that is that they attract many more clicks than normal. Quite often people that aren’t buyers will click on these links, which means there is little chance of converting these clicks into sales. Using too broad keywords might get lots of traffic; however few people will choose to purchase anything.

So you have finally decided to take that first big step in your career change towards the world of freelancing, but there is just one hitch – you have no idea where to find your first clients and customers.

A few years ago you would have to act solely by means of local businesses and private residents of your community in hopes that someone, anyone you know could lead you to a potentially high paying client for your freelance work.

Writers always had it easier because there were hundreds of magazines and newspapers who always needed freelancers on a day to day basis – but if you were a web designer or a software programmer, chances are you were out of luck. But that was back before the internet wove its way into homes across the world.

Finding customers for your fresh freelancing operation has never been easier thanks to the internet. People and companies looking for freelancer workers to help them with a project or two are all over the place and can help you get started in the freelance world if you are lucky enough to find a client that will work with you time and time again.

Furthermore, as a freelancer you can also use the internet to your advantage to advertise your services on various forums and other freelance web resources. In these situations, instead of you looking for some prospective clients, they look for you – allowing you to focus on whatever tasks and projects you are currently working on for others.

As an up and coming freelancer, the first thing you must do when looking for clients is to get your name out there. Let people know who you are, what you do, how well you do it, and what you can do for them.

Potential clients love a freelancer who is willing to get the job done right the first time on a timely manner, and if you have no prior experience, you may have trouble getting high paying customers to trust you right off the bat.

However, if you start with a few low paying jobs, you will quickly find that you can advance through the ranks very rapidly and soon be able to net all of the projects that will allow you to keep your freelance business self sufficient.

Terry: When you first started the site did you contact FK technologies first and describe what you wanted?

Darryl: Actually I didn’t start through FK I found FK through some affiliates of mine. I started with two friends that I was working with and they created the initial site. However they were part of the corporate downsizing so they had to move across country and we kind of lost touch, but they initially created the site based on what I wanted. I laid everything out for them and they made it happen. The same thing for FK. The amazing thing with FK is I sent them what I called my butchered layout. I will make something up in word for a part of the site where we want to make it happen, and they take that and turn it into a beautiful work of art. I think that is very important for people who want to create a website. You have to have a good relationship with your programmers and build the trust so they can almost anticipate what you’re thinking and what you are trying to say when you’re telling them.

Terry: Great. As far as doing a layout, when you first started with ISO you put it on paper and then went to programming guys, they put it together, it went back to you and you uploaded it on line?

Daryl: No, they do all that stuff.

Terry: They do that as well, okay. So you have your finger on the button and the overview of everything?

Darryl: True. I know what I want and I know that with the internet there has not been one thing that I wanted to do that my guys have not been able to figure out how to do it. To give you an example the auto responder was a big undertaking. We launched the auto responder in May of 2004. We went to our current members and told them we were going to include an auto responder in the system because it’s something they were saying they wanted. We asked the members what they wanted an auto responder to do and we had about twenty five pages of requests from our members. Jeremy and I went through these things and created a customized outline, took it to FK, and then they built the auto responder based on what our members wanted. That’s how the entire ISO system works. It’s not just us now creating websites; we get input from our members and put something together to get a functional product. Then FK creates the backend of the site so everything works together.

Terry: It sounds like it runs really smooth now, but did you hit any stumbling blocks as you were going along?

Podcasts were thought to be the hobbies of computer freaks and people who spend hours in front of the screen trying to do everything possible with the available range of options. Nowadays this medium has garnered sufficient attention in the corporate world with business concerns taking note of this unique device of communication and using it to the fullest to create advertising effects like never before.

Podcasts serve the basic cause of promoting your enterprise. But this promotion can proceed via several avenues without making it look like too brazen an attempt to advertise your firm. What is possible is intensive information sharing via podcasts that help your firm pass on all the relevant information to the customers without running the risk of over advertising.

Thus, podcasts can serve the dual role of advertisement for the company and service for the customer. Examples would include medical firms offering health related advice and educational institutions providing weekly advice to students on podcast.

The further use of a podcast in a commercial enterprise is that it can be used to train employers and all they will need is an mp3 payer or a laptop to access the training information and thus go through it right there without going through elaborate training schedules. This saves your money and your employee gets some time.

Like any other device, podcast comes with costs and expenses to be borne. The nature of these expenses is particular to the product and in case of podcast you will need people with technical know how and along with people who will be the content on the podcast. This cost could be managed by attaching costs to the podcast the customer views on your website.

Or you could start a service for which the customer receives podcast updates from you for a fee. These measures really depend on the success of the podcasts or else the customer might just bypass it if he or he has to pay a price for it.

Podcasts are amazing innovations that you can put to good use to help your enterprise. They could be used for advertising, passing on information, training employees or even for bonus customer service that you want to offer.

Given this wide range of things that a podcast could do for you, it can only be an asset to your firm and nothing less. But key to a better functioning of such apparatus is that you maintain high quality content on such devices and also do not really hold back the initial expenses that you have to bear on this. The more promising the start, the better the results and consequences involved. Use this device creatively and efficiently to get the best returns possible.

Terry: Right. Something that you mentioned briefly a couple of minutes ago is the seven to ten steps of neuro-linguistic programming. Can you just go over NLP?

Richard: I’ll just briefly tell you the steps. Within NLP, there is something called well-formed outcomes. With NLP, they say you have to use language carefully because of the whole idea that the subconscious and the conscious will read what you say on two different levels. A classic example that you hear is you finish a sales call and you say, “Bye now.” Is it bye or buy? The subconscious will take that in and it might be taken as buy and you might think that you want to actually buy it now. Words have different meanings and can have meanings on two different levels.

This is something that we explore about how you communicate with different people. One of the elements that I look at is NLP and the sales letter process and how you can use words effectively to get your message across. If you take a sales letter apart, a lot of them just tell you about the products. The ones that make you buy are the ones that are well crafted. That’s one of the things.

With the idea of well-formed outcomes, the first thing is that you want to state what you want in the positive. You want to say, “I want to be earning X amount,” and not saying, “I don’t want to be having to go to work everyday.” That last one is not a great goal. If something is stated in the negative, it’s not good. State it in the positive.

You want to make sure that the outcome is in your control as much as possible. Obviously, as an Internet marketer, you’re going to have to outsource. If you’re saying that you want to put your money in a high yield investment program, that’s completely out of your control and you are not in control of that particular goal. A lot of people are getting burnt with someone of these money making systems because they’re not in control.

You also want to be as specific as possible. “I want to make X amount. I’m going to make it this way. I’m going to do it by this date.” A couple of exercises I do that are good for face-to-face or for phone coaching is that you want to use sensory-based evidence. What is it going to look like and feel like when you achieve this goal? I want to imagine flying in my helicopter. It would be the most wonderful feeling to know that I went out for the day and come home to money that I made while I was out. That gets an emotion going where you can feel what it’s going to be like when you achieve that goal.

Another thing that’s important is that you want to make sure you have the skills that you need to achieve the goal, and if you don’t, how are you going to get them? Do you need to go off and buy some eBooks, do you need to buy scripts to run your membership site? You want to plan that out. Another thing is that it has to be ecologically sound, which means, is it going to affect other areas of your life?

Terry: You would also look at doing that… affiliate marketing offline products as well?

Rosalind: Well, not selling products offline, you’re selling them through online retailers. But, the way to get people away from going to the store down the street and getting them to buy online is by price point, because that’s usually the differentiation. You can suggest that they go and test the product out at a local store, but tell them, “When you buy, buy it through this link because we found that it’s typically 20% cheaper to buy it through this link than at your local store.

Terry: Okay, so if you were doing it in that respect, you wouldn’t be doing a review site? You’d be doing more of a price comparison site?

Rosalind: Well, you’re still reviewing because you’re still going to talk about all of the benefits and features of that particular treadmill. You can also lead into, “If you like this one but the price is too high, then we recommend this other model that is less expensive. It doesn’t have these features, but if you can live without them, then this would be a really good alternative.”

Terry: Okay. So, basically the affiliate marketing formula is really to set up a review site for whatever it is that you’re marketing.

Rosalind: That’s the model that I use and have found works really well, and I know so many other super affiliates that use that model successfully as well. I like it too; you’re connecting with people.

Terry: Excellent. Now, if we just take a step back to the big picture again, now you looked under palmistry, thinks that it might be a good market, should we be concerned if the market is expanding or shrinking or should we just look at it and say, “It looks good now, let’s just go for it.”

Rosalind: Well, that’s a really good question, Terry. You’re probably not going to be selling Y2K antidotes later. I like perennial products; I call it the seven deadly sins. If you can appeal to people’s greed, lust, and all of the rest… lust would be personals where people connect. The other end of that section is the adult site, and there’s money to be made there too but the competition is huge and it doesn’t work for everybody. I like big markets and I like perennial markets.
