Irish Crochet And How To Make It Resale Rights Ebook

Figure 57A - This filling is a very favorite one in Irish crochet. It is composed of chainstitch bars with picots. To learn it, baste a piece of braid or a ch of sts upon a piece of foundation in the form of a square. Join the cotton with a d c to the righthand corner of square. * Work 5 ch, 1 d c in the 4th st from needle, ch 7, 1 d c in the 4th st from needle, ch 2; this makes a complete picot bar. Lay this bar along the lower edge to the left, and, using it as a measure, observe where the center between the 2 p comes; work 1 d c into the ch or braid at that point, repeat from * along the lower edge of the square. In the model the row ends with a half bar thus: ch 5, 1 d c into the 4th st from hook, ch 1, take the half bar across the corner and work 1 d c in the left-hand edge. Work a p bar as before; 1 d c over the chain between the 2 p of last bar in the 1st row, repeat the whole way across, ending with a half bar. Continue row upon row of these picot bars until the space is filled, taking care to make the joinings to the edges of the square, so as not to interfere with the evenness of the diagonal lines of the filling. Practice this filling, first in square spaces, and then in irregularly shaped ones, until you can fill them up evenly and easily before attempting to fill in the lace. Like all fillings, the worker must adapt it as she proceeds to the particular shape of each space to be filled. In filling a piece of lace the easiest point from which to start the filling is near the end of an angle or a narrow space.

Figure 57B - Join the thread one-fourth inch from the bottom of narrow space, * ch 5, join the last 4 sts in a p by working a d c in the 2nd st of ch, ch 1, 1 d c in the other side of space about one-fourth inch higher up than the 1st d c; * repeat from * making t c instead of d c as the space widens.

Figure 57C - This filling is a regular filling having but one picot to a loop, and is made as follows: ch 5, 1 d c in the 2nd ch, ch 4, miss a space half the length of a loop and catch with a d c; repeat, working the second row into the first.

Figure 57D - This filling is a chain and knot background; for directions for working the knot see "Explanation of Stitches". This knot is not as much used as the chain and picot for background, as it is harder to make, but as it makes a very beautiful background it is well worth practicing to acquire the art of making it successfully. Chain 5, make a knot on the 5 ch, ch 4, miss a space half the length of the chain and catch with a d c; repeat as required, working the 2nd row into the 1st.

Figure 57E - This filling is a variation of that at C. The bars are made in the same way, but are not placed in the same orderly manner, with diagonal lines, but are worked irregularly, d t c, t c, d c and sl sts are used as necessary in catching the chains. Many workers prefer the irregular filling, finding it easier to work; it is very largely used. There is a general principle which should be observed in all fillings; that is, to make the holes between the bars as uniform in size as possible, even when, as in this filling, they must be varied in shape. Nothing looks worse than to see one portion openly filled, and another closely filled in the same piece of lace.

Investing In You : The Power Of Positive Thinking Resale Rights Ebook

You know that positive thinking improves your mental health. But did you know It can also improve your physical health? The power of your thoughts is so strong, it can actually affect the way your body behaves and improve a host of physical ailments- or even bring you from the brink of death.

Take Christopher Reeve. The actor who will be forever remembered for his powerful performance as Superman will also be remembered for his remarkable recovery after a horse-riding accident left him completely paralyzed. Yet not only did Reeve live far longer than any doctor predicted, he made great strides toward recovery and was able to move parts of his body that were pronounced forever lost to him before his death in 2004. Reeve survived for nine years after the accident and proved he truly was a super man.

How did he do it? Positive thinking. According to researchers who analyzed his case, Reeve’s optimistic attitude and can-do mindset were almost entirely responsible for the unparalleled level of recovery he experienced.

When you banish negative thoughts from your mind, your physical health responds tremendously. It has long been known that there is a correlation between emotional and physical health; often referred to as the “mind-body connection.” Improving your outlook and practicing positive thinking strengthens your mind-body connection and makes you healthy, even to the point of extending your life.

Studies have shown that depression and negative thought decreases antibodies and leaves you more open to infection and disease. Those who are unhappy or stressed exhibit weaker immune responses to vaccines; take longer to heal; are more susceptible to colds and viruses; and experience stronger symptoms.

There is documented scientific evidence that electrical activity in the brain related to emotion has a direct effect on the body’s ability to heal and fights off disease. Negative thoughts produce a surge of activity in the right prefrontal cortex, which brings about a weak immune response; while positive thoughts produce activity in the left prefrontal cortex and strengthens immune response. It is true: happy people are healthier, simply because they are happy!

A positive thought program may also possess the ability to protect you from Alzheimer’s or other degenerative aging diseases. Because part of the process of positive thinking involves a continual quest for self-improvement and encourages you to stay mentally active, your mind will be in better shape as you age and you will be less susceptible to degenerative disease such as Alzheimer’s, osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis. A sharp mind helps to maintain a sharp body.

Don’t underestimate the power of positive thinking in regards to your own health. You can think yourself healthy; and you will find that you have more energy, fewer colds, and an increased vitality. Perhaps some day, science will discover a way to inject happiness as a means to combat disease. Until then, we will have to be responsible for creating our own happiness.

Designers that specialize in commercial property and work do projects for businesses. The type of business varies greatly. You can do work for banks, hotels, restaurants, law firms; you name it. Any business that you can dream of is open to this specialty.

Good people skills and negotiation techniques are a vital aspect of this specialty as well. After all, you are dealing with business people. They respond well to a good business person. You could be required to design an office space, a hallway, lobby, and possibly and entire interior building. The possibilities are endless here.

This is a specialty where your ability to estimate the value of your own work will come in handy because many businesses accept bids from the designers that they are interested in working with. Also, you will often have to work under specific instructions as to what the client is looking for, so listening skills will be important here.

This type of specialty can be very lucrative if you can establish a good rapport with your client. Doing a good job will lead to a steady, return client, and your ability to satisfy this client will often guarantee you more work as the client’s word of mouth can lead to other businesses desiring your services.

You may also have to work a little more closely with your client in this field as well because business people like to be on top of things to ensure that they are done right. It may be a little bit annoying at times, but it is worth it in the end.

To the sides: Breath in, turn your neck to your right side and bring back to the normal position while you breathe out. This is done five times each to both right and left sides alternately.

Up and down: Similarly, breathe in and tilt your neck up so as to look at the roof. Now, bent down so that your chin touches your body while you breathe out. This is done alternately up and down five times each at your own pace.

Rotation: Now, rotate your neck as to form a circle while you breath normally. While you rotate, your head should be bent down first taking it to one shoulder, then bending back, now touching the other shoulder, and then coming to the initial position. This is done five times in the clockwise direction and five times in the anticlockwise direction. Never overstrain yourself while you do this exercise. The number of times can be reduced according to your convenience and health.

Wrist Rotation: Stretch both arms straight to the front with closed fists. Rotate both the fists together ten times in the clockwise direction and ten times in the anticlockwise direction. Do ensure that only your fists are rotating and the rest of your arms are stationery.

Elbow Rotation: Bend your hands towards the front and hold your shoulders with your palms. Now, rotate your elbows ten times in the clockwise and ten times in the anticlockwise direction.

Whole hands, small circles: Stretch both hands to the sides holding your palms straight up perpendicular to the hands. Now, make small circles with both palms ten times in the clockwise and ten times in the anticlockwise direction. Note that the smaller the circle, the better relaxation to your hands. This is an excellent exercise for those who have to sit in front of the computer for very long hours.

Whole hands, big circles: Stretch your hands to the sides. Make big circles (as big as possible) with both the hands ten times in the clockwise and ten times in the anticlockwise direction. The number of times can be increased gradually as this becomes less strenuous. All these exercises can be done while you relax in your workstation seat. If you prefer doing them at home or in standing postures, you can stand in the ‘attention’ posture.

Effect: A name is written on a piece of paper on a notepad by the spectator , the paper is torn off unseen by the magician, crumpled up and placed in an ashtray.

It is then set alight.

The ashes are then rubbed on the magicians arm and the name of the person written on the paper mysteriously appears.

Preparation:You will need a small notepad , pen , ashtray , lighter and a small piece of soap or wax.

Method: The spectator is asked to write the name of a person or favourite anything of theirs on a notepad.

Then too tear of the sheet of notepaper, crumple it up and place it in the ashtray, where the magician then sets the paper alight.

The magician takes the notepad of the spectator and should be able to see the imprint of the name written on the paper above in the next sheet of the notepad.

Looking at the pad should not be made obvious and some misdirection carried out while he carefully takes the small piece of wax or soap and writes the name on the imprint on his arm or hand (this will not be visible to anyone ).

The magician can then take some ash from the ashtray and rub it over the wax where it will stick and create an impression of the spectators word to their amazement.

This is a great trick but depends on the magician creating an atmosphere with an entertaining routine and patter about black magic to enhance the effect and create misdirection to allow him time to pull off the trick.

One of the biggest secrets that makes this whole thing come together is carefully choosing a niche market. But almost every marketer on the internet is fixated on selling a broad product with wide public appeal. And that's why 98% of all internet marketers are failing at what they're doing. There's a famous saying that all great marketers fully know and understand and it goes like this: "When you try to sell everything to everybody, you end up selling nothing to nobody." Another one goes like this: "When everyone's your market then no one's your market."

Why is this? Well, the simple answer is that it costs a lot more money to advertise to that broad audience we call the masses, than it does to advertise to a small niche market. Yes, you get a much better deal on advertising when you sell to a niche market.

The most common method people use to decide which niche market to get involved in is to simply ask yourself what your hobbies are? Or ask yourself what is of most interest to you in life? What fascinates you? This is often a niche market that you already know and understand. You may even be an expert on a niche market that you didn't realize was a niche. Are you? Think about the things you spend your spare time with.

The best thing about dealing with niche markets is the fact that they're so easy to manage. What I mean is that instead of trying to reach 300 million people that mostly don't care about your product, niches allow you to focus on around 20,000 prospects at a time. For instance, in a spy software business, there's only about 25,000 people that are subscribers to spy magazines. This means instead of trying to get lucky advertising to 300,000 people, I can now go directly to the 25,000 people that are most likely to become my customers. Kind of like shooting fish in a barrel when you think about it.

Memory Techniques Resale Rights Ebook

Ebook Sample Content Preview:

I remember a birthday party I went to as a child. There was a contest that involved looking at a table covered in 15 various items. After a few minutes, the things were taken away, and then we each got a piece of paper and a pencil. The object was to write down as many items as we could remember. I struck out after seven or eight, but one little boy got all 15 items, and won the prize.

Only years later did I learn why he was able to do that. His father had taught him a simple technique that none of us other kids knew. All you have to do is tie the items together in an imaginative story. Imagine, for example, that you want to remember a list of the following things: milk, soap, forks, honey, and flowers.

Create a story, and see it vividly in your head: You are in front of the bathroom sink, and you reach for the soap. The soap dish is filled with milk, so you wash your hands with that, then comb honey into your hair with a fork, pick up a bouquet of flowers and smile at yourself in the mirror. Say each item as you review this "movie" in your imagination, and you'll remember all five things, even the next day.

Some Other Memory Tricks

Start telling yourself to remember. If you just learned a person's name, for example, tell yourself, "remember that". This signals the unconscious mind to rank this input higher in importance.

Tell yourself why you want to remember something, and how you will remember it. To remember a person, think about how that person will be important to you in the future, where you'll see them next, and anything you notice about them. Clearly seeing the importance of remembering will help a lot, and the additional associations (where you expect to see the person next, for example) will set the memory more firmly in your brain.

Have you ever forgotten where you set down your car keys? You have probably tried retracing your steps, or at least doing it in your imagination. This works fairly well, but do you ever create the scenario beforehand, so you won't forget? Try it. When you set down the keys on the chair, see yourself walking in and setting the keys on the chair. You'll remember where they are if you do this.

Create Good Memory Habits

Do you know what the biggest problem with memory techniques is? Remembering to use them. No joke. Many popular methods work, but if you don't have the habit of using them, you'll forget to when you need them most. So if you take the time to learn a technique, make a conscious effort to use it until it becomes automatic.
