Opportunity #4 - "The Writer Within"

What is the focus of your site? Is it golf? If so, you probably know a little bit about selecting the proper club. Is it dogs? If so, you could probably tell others a thing or two about training a puppy. Is it health? If that's the case, you might know something about the benefits of multivitamins. So what's the point? Well, it has been said that there is at least ONE book in every person (including people who can't write a lick!). I'm not suggesting that you compile a manuscript and hustle the streets looking for a publisher to put your book in every Barnes and Noble in the world. This is the Internet age and ANYONE can become a digital book publisher overnight.

You've probably read an ebook before (such as my ebook on making money with Google AdSense), but have you ever given thought to writing an ebook of your own? You might be interested to know that I never intended to write an ebook on Google AdSense. But when I started sharing my AdSense success story with friends and associates, they suggested that I write an ebook and sell it. My ebook success came from writing about my area of expertise.

Hardback and softcover books cost a bundle to create. But writing, selling and distributing an ebook provides potential for incredible profits!

Whether your ebook is a short 10-page report or a 150-page authoritative guide, put your expertise into action and share it in the form of an instantly downloadable PDF document. People online are willing to pay more for the instant gratification of purchasing a product and having it in their possession a few moments later.

Don't know where to start? I am going to point you to, what else, an eBook! This title is called "How to Write and Publish Your Own Ebook in as Little as Seven Days". It is written by Joe Vitale and Jim Edwards, two guys who have been very successful in this arena. As the authors would say, this book will teach you “How to write and publish your own OUTRAGEOUSLY Profitable ebook in as little as 7 days – even if you can’t write, can’t type and failed high school English class!”

The ebook limbs on the money tree stretch as far as the eye can see. Find your niche and let the book come forth. I recommend you pick up a copy of Joe and Jims’ ebook today, and get busy writing your best seller!

When you know why you make certain purchases, then you will know how to get others to buy from you. The biggest motivators of most purchases are our feelings.

If you are unhappy about your weight you will buy something to help you lose weight, not just because the doctor says you should. You probably do not buy candles because you need them. You get them because you like the way they make you feel, when you smell them or when you see them.

As human beings it is our nature to be happy and comfortable. People like to reduce pain and increase pleasure. We buy to find a solution to a problem, or improve the amount of pleasure in our lives. Pain is the biggest motivator of all because problems increase pain and reduce pleasure.

Here is a pure emotional example. You are at a park. You barely notice it, but out of the corner of your eye you see a snake lying in the grass. You jump, your body tenses and your heart rate jumps, all enabling you to run… but you look again at the “sna ke” and it is nothing more than a stick.

Your brain saw a snake. A snakebite causes pain. Your brain produced fear. Your body did everything it could to protect you. Now when you looked again, you saw it as a stick.

Knowing your job could disappear also causes pain. Knowing your boss is a jerk causes pain. Knowing without a job you cannot pay bills, buy groceries or take care of your family causes pain. Therefore you keep your job because it is the lesser pain.

Most people, who desire to work from home, want to reduce the pain caused by their J.O.B. or time away from family and friends. Thus the ability to work from home and make money increases pleasure.

40 Offer your e-book as a free bonus for buying one of your main products or services. People will buy the product or service more often when you offer a free bonus. For example, you could say, "Get a free e-book when you order our (product) before (the date)!"

41 Allow people to download your e-book for free if they give the e-mail addresses of 3 to 5 friends or associates who would be interested in your e-book. This will quickly build your e-mail list. For example, you could say, "Download Our E-book At No Cost If, In Exchange, You Refer 3 Of Your Friends To Our Web Site By E-mail."

42 Create a directory of web sites in e-book form. List people’s web sites in the directory that will agree to advertise the e-book on their web site or e-zine. This will give them an incentive to give away or advertise your e-book. For example, you could say, "Get A Free Ad In Our Free E-book In Exchange For Linking to Our Web Site!"

43 Allow other people to give away your free e-book. This will increase the number of people who will see your ad in the e-book. You could also include a mini catalog of all your products or services that you offer in the e-book. You could include your own products or associate program’s products in the e-book.

44 Gain new leads by having people sign up and give you their contact information before they can download your e-book. This is a very effective way to conduct market research. For example, you could get their first and last name, e-mail address, web site address, mailing address, etc.

45 Make money selling advertising space in your e-book. You could charge for full page color ads, classified ads or banners ads. You could also trade advertising space in your e-book for other forms of advertising. For example, you could say, "Promote Your Business In Our Free E-book For Only ($). It's been downloaded over 5000 times!"

46 Give away the e-book as a gift to your current customers as a way of letting them know you appreciate their business. Place an ad in the e-book for a new back-end product you're offering. For example, you could say, "We Are Giving You This E-book As A Way To Say Thanks For Being One Of Our Most Loyal Customers."

47 Get free advertising by submitting your e-book to freebie and freeware/shareware web sites. This will increase the number of people who will download your e-book and see your ad. Those web sites already attract a lot of people that are on the look-out for quality free items.

48 Make money by selling the reprint rights to those who would like to sell the e-book. You could also make even more money by selling the master reprint rights. This would allow other people to sell the reprint rights. You could also include your ads in the e-books. Every time someone reads it or sells one, you'll get exposure.

49 Hold a contest on your web site so people can win your e-book. You'll get free advertising by submitting your contest ad to free contest or sweepstake directories. You could also offer the reprint or master reprint rights as a price so your e-book spreads all over the Internet with your ad in it.

50 You will gain valuable referrals from people telling others about your e-book. Word-of-mouth advertising can be very effective. For example, how many times have you bought something because one of your friends or family members recommended that you buy it?

51 Make money cross-promoting your e-book with other people's products or services. This technique will double your marketing effort without spending more time and money on your part. For example, you could package your business e-book with a search engine submission service.

52 Increase your e-zine subscribers by giving away your e-book to people who subscribe to your e-zine. This will give people an incentive to subscribe. Allow your e-zine subscribers to also give it away to multiply your subscribers. For example, "Get Our Free Marketing E-book When You Subscribe Now!"

Joint Venture List Building Resale Rights Ebook

In the letter above I used my own ebook that I had written as extra leverage to get publishers to participate in my JV contest but you don' t need to have written your own ebook to use this idea. Here' s why...

You Can Ask Th Publishers If They Have Any Original Freebies To Throw In The Pot...

Many times some of the publishers you will be contacting have other ebooks or original reports that they have created themselves. When you email them simply mention that a free ebook with resale rights would attract more people to the contest and ask them if the have one they would like to include as a free download for everyone who enters the contest. You can also ask if they have any good free reports that you may compile with reports from the other publishers into a free ebook.

If any of your publishers don' t have one of the two then simply keep seeking out ezine publishers until you find one who does. But since many of the people you will be contacting are in the information publishing business it should not be that difficult to put together a good free ebook in a short amount of time.

Also ask if they would be willing got give away one free solo ad.

Setting Up The Contest Page(s)

Yes, you' re going to be doing most of the work...

As I told you in the letter that you read when you purchased this report, ALL YOU NEED IS THE WILL AND DETERMINATION TO SUCCEED. That means that you' ll have to do some work.

You see the thing is most of the ezine/newsletter publishers out there would love to put together a subscriber pulling Joint Venture contest but they just don' t have the time to set it up and run it themselves.

That' s were you come in:-) You are going to be the one setting up the contest page and collecting and delivering all the subscribers. It will be some work, not hard work though. Many publishers will be pleased that you will do all of the dirty work.

Infinite Web Traffic Resale Rights Ebook

"F.F.A." is an abbreviation for "Free For All." An FFA site is simply a website where you can go to post a small advertisement for your website. The ad is a one-line "headline," which is a hot link to your main website. In other words you are "posting" a small, one-line ad that is a link to your website.

Most FFA websites have several hundred of these listings. In some cases they'll have thousands of these listings. Since it is free for all to post their ad headline on these sites, they became known as Free For All, or the abbreviated term, “FFA sites.” In reality, FFA Sites are link farms. "Classified ad sites" and "FFA sites" are basically the same, with some minor differences. On Classified ad sites, you can actually include more of a “classified” type advertisement consisting of a few lines of text, together with your hyperlink to your website. They are both a free form of advertising, and can result in your ad immediately becoming lost amidst the thousands of other ads on these sites. Plus, your posting to one of these “FFA sites” only remains on the page for approximately one hour, and is then rotated off the page by others who come along and post behind you within the same category.

Needless to say, it is not highly effective and not likely to bring you any meaningful profit to your business. For reasons that I simply do not understand, the majority of the internet marketing community has not yet figured this out, and thousands upon thousands of people continue to post to FFA sites every day. In my humble opinion, it is about as effective as nailing Jell-O to a tree, yet people just keep on wasting their energies on this kind of advertising and making no money! Pardon my ignorance, but I just don’t get it!

If these people realized that nobody ever saw their ads, don’t you think they would try something different, like getting their advertisements before people who are likely to buy? Specifically, other internet marketers? Of course they would! But because these people continue to post to FFA pages, one can only conclude that they simply don’t know that they are wasting their time and efforts!

Okay, enough of what doesn’t work. Now let’s review the methods that I have found to be highly effective in bringing traffic to my websites and that create income for me. This system consists of several different advertising methods that I use simultaneously in conjunction with one another to create a stampede of traffic to my sites and as a result, a healthy income.

Reverse Psychology

Reverse psychology works! It works with kids, it works in sales and it works on the internet. Why does it work? People don’t like to be told what to do. Telling someone what to do when they don’t want to hear it only makes them rebel – they go the extreme opposite direction, often just to show you who is boss! People don’t like to be “told” and they don’t like to be “sold.” They like to have control of their own decisions and base those decisions upon their own emotion. At this point, you are probably wondering “What on earth is she talking about, this reverse psychology stuff?”

Think about this: If you receive an email from someone you don’t know (usually with a hyperventilating subject line!) what happens? Click! It goes right to the trash bin. Must be a sales pitch – it’s junk. But what happens when you respond to someone, with information they are seeking? You usually receive a different reaction. They still feel as if they are in control, because they have “stated their case” first. Only then are they willing to listen to a response. Well, let’s look at this FFA thing just a little closer.

The people posting to these FFA pages are “stating their case.” They are getting their ads out where they are sure that thousands will see and come swarming to their websites to make a purchase. After a while, they start to get weary when they get no visitors. They start to wonder what was wrong with their ad. After consistently posting for weeks and sometimes months with no response, they start to get downright frustrated - sometimes even postal! I say this from experience because there were countless times I was ready to hurl my computer down the stairs when I couldn’t seem to get this marketing thing right!

If these FFA pages are worthless, why on earth would anyone bother going through the hassle of hosting an FFA website for you and hundreds of other people to post their ads? It's free, so it’s not like they are making any money from it! What’s the point? Don’t they know what they are doing?

The Super Affiliate Master Plan Resale Rights Ebook

Ebook Sample Content Preview:

We've come to the last day of the course, and it's time to tie up the loose ends and cover some advanced topics.

As you know by now, affiliate marketing can be incredibly rewarding when done properly. There are also a lot of pitfalls you need to watch out for as well. One of these is merchant fraud.

Merchant fraud, unfortunately, does happen. Merchants can use any number of clever tactics to cheat you out of your commission. One of these methods is to offer multiple payment options to customers without linking each one to their affiliate tracking software.

For example, let's say that a merchant offers credit payments, payment via Paypal and payment via check to the customer.

The merchant tracks your affiliate ID up to the point of sale and credits you if the customer chooses to pay via credit card through the merchant's main payment gateway. However, if the customer chooses Paypal or check, your affiliate ID is immediately tossed.

The only way around this clever trick is an exercise of caution on your part. When you evaluate a potential affiliate program, check to see how many payment methods the merchant offers. Secondly, after you sign up for an account, examine you referral links. In fact, if you have the budget to spare, follow your own link and choose one of the alternate payment options and purchase a product.

Did you get credit for that sale? Great! If you didn't receive credit, though, it's time to can that merchant and move on to more ethical waters.

Here's another 'advanced' tip to consider: use affiliate networks like Commission Junction to evaluate potential merchants. Joining programs via a network is often a better choice than signing up at individual, non-networked sites. The reason is simple: membership in an affiliate network imposes stricter standards on merchant behavior.

You also have access to a wealth of data on the overall performance of other affiliates in that merchant's program.

Last but not least, you need to focus on building trust among potential customers. If your merchant site doesn't do a very good job of this, then send your visitors to your web site. Make it clear what products and/or information you have to offer.

The Definitive Guide To Email Marketing Resale Rights Ebook

Testimonials are a great way to build consumer confidence in your product. Hearing from other people who have purchased the product and are satisfied with the results goes a long way toward making sales. Testimonials can range from short blurbs (a sentence or two, or a paragraph) to letter-length endorsements. The blurbs are great for interspersing with the text of your autoresponder messages; longer testimonials are excellent for posting on your web site.

How do you get testimonials? Once you start selling your product, you will likely receive unsolicited notes from buyers who are pleased with their purchases. But at the outset of your campaign, before you have actually began selling anything, there are several ways to get testimonials;

Friends and family. Ask friends and family to review your product and write a few sentences describing what they like about it and why they would recommend it to others. This may seem like cheating, but no one has to know you’re acquainted with your testimonial writers—and besides, if they actually like the product, there is nothing dishonest about it.

Colleagues and experts in your field. If you work or have worked in a field relating to your topic, ask your coworkers (or former coworkers) to write up a testimonial blurb for you. If you don’t work in a related field, look up people who do online (groups or forums are good places to start) and e-mail them to ask if they would mind reviewing your product in exchange for a free copy. Most reviewers work on a free-product basis and will be happy to do so.

Other affiliate members and resellers. Think all people trying to sell the same product as you are bitter enemies? Think again! Many internet marketers working with affiliate and reseller programs are happy to help other entrepreneurs, because believe it or not, there is plenty of market to go around. Of course, they will expect the same courtesy from you. Since they are already familiar with the product, they will have no trouble coming up with a testimonial for you.

NOTE: Always make sure you have the permission of the person who wrote the testimonial to use their name and words in your marketing materials. Get it in writing or by e-mail, even from friends and family. Make that especially from friends and family—you never know when a disagreement will result in a rescinding of an offer to help. If you get permission via e-mail, simply end your disclaimer message (I hereby give [your name] permission to use my name and remarks for marketing purposed, signed X) with a line that states: Typing my initials here constitutes my official signature___. Then just ask them to reply to the message, add their full name and initials, and hit send. Most people will be willing to do this.
