There are sites out there that will tell you that you will make thousands per every month participating in online surveys. Remember that this is not a get rich proposition, nor is it an executive position. When you are participating in online paid surveys, a lot will hinge upon your personal profile. Where you live, your age, and even your interest preferences. You should also realize that it will take a bit of time for these companies to get to know if you will be a dependable survey participant, so if you don’t get as many surveys as you expected, hang in there and over time you will build up a reputation for being reliable. You will have some months when you will make a little and other months where you will make much more. It all depends on the surveys available to you at the time.

I’m sure you noticed that many of the survey sites offer a chance to win cash and prizes instead of giving you cash per survey. It is up to you whether you want to participate in these surveys. I would say when you are starting out, sign up for all of them. Later on, if you feel you are too swamped with this type of survey, you can choose to drop some of them.

And the main factor of the recording of impressions is that quality of the mind that we call Attention, which is the ability to focus and give meaning to a particular data or stimulus.

Our capability to process information is somewhat limited. Therefore, we must constantly select and decide which data are relevant and which are not. Stimuli or sensations that you perceive and organize into meaningful thoughts are selectively analyzed by your brain. If the stimuli or data is relevant or applicable for further use or access, your brain transfers this information to the long-term storage center. However, for this to happen, attention must take place.

One of the most common causes of poor attention is the lack of interest. You are more inclined to remember the things in which you have been most interested, because in that emanation of interest there has been a high degree of attention exhibited. A person may have a very poor memory for many things; but when it comes to things in which his interest is involved, he often remembers the most intricate details. This is called involuntary attention. This type of attention does not require special effort or exertion because it follows upon interest, curiosity, or desire.

The other type of attention is called voluntary attention. This form of attention is granted upon objects not necessarily interesting, curious, or attractive. This requires the effort and usage of the will.

Every person has more or less involuntary attention, while only a few possess developed voluntary attention. The former is initiated by instinct, while the latter comes only by practice and training.

Chapter Five Making maximum use of the free video sites

Here's a few pointers to help you prepare in advance:

As with most forum style sites, when signing up for YouTube and the like, you will be asked for a user name that will be displayed with your posts. It's always a good idea to devise a name to encapsulate what you are about.

If you were involved in video, you might choose "videoguy" or "videogal".

However, you naturally want your videos on high traffic sites, such YouTube (millions of views a day), so it's likely your first choice of user name, may very well be taken. So it's a good idea to create a list of alternatives, in advance, rather than trying to devise something on the fly, when your first choice is already taken.

So, in addition to your keyword rich headline, description and tags, you should be ready with a few alternative user names.

Back to college:

It's always an education to look at your competition and sites like Google Video and YouTube are no exception. One of the handy features with some sites, like YouTube, is the ability to see what tags others have used and how many views they have.

This is very helpful research for you, because you can see what sort of videos go best.

Humor:

Top of the list are funny videos, so - in a day or so -- I will be putting a video on the member's area which I have just made for a client, to give you an idea what can be done with a few captions and music - absolutely no narration.

Curiosity:

Always try and build curiosity about your product to entice the viewer to come to your site.

How To Do:

There is a complete category in YouTube for these types of video. The idea is very similar to article marketing. You give some useful - information in the video and make it clear there’s more where that came from on your website.

There is, naturally a limit to the scope of your videos, when using Photo Story, but once you create and upload a video - it will break the spell for you. Then, buoyed up by your success, you can move on to more sophisticated - yet still free - video editing software. We’ll look at that in the next chapter.

Chapter Six More free video editing software

Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker:

If you have Windows, click on your list of programs and select "Accessories", followed by "Windows Movie Maker" from about two thirds the way down the drop-down menu.

When the program fires up, this is what you will see.

This software is more advanced than Photo Story, but does not require much more skill to operate, particularly at there’s a good built in “Help” section. The big advantage with this software is you can bring in full action movie clips, music as well as create impressive transitions and other effects.

It is not quite as advanced as the Sony Movie software, although even that is now available for around $50 (maybe less on eBay).

Wot no camera?

In case you are worried you need to buy a camera and a ton of expensive equipment to use this software, fear not. You can get every conceivable type of royalty free movie clips - and even get a professional voice over for your video. So you can produce your first videos for zero with Photo Story and a very respectable more advanced version for less than 100 bucks with Windows Movie Maker.

Then, later, when you get bitten by the video bug, and begin to see the immensely profitable advantages, you can move up to the Sony Vegas

We forget where we put those keys, that much-needed item in the grocery list, or worse, those very important answers in an exam that might spell the difference between a passing mark and a failing grade.

A variety of factors contribute to the way our brain stores and supplies information. Although schools of thought and psychology are still debating on how the human mind works, they agree for one thing that memory is affected by our overall experience - from our genes, to the kind of childhood we had, down to the food we ate for breakfast this morning.

Some scientists liken the mind to a video camera because of its ability and nature to record everything a person experiences. Thus, looking for a particular event in your past is similar to searching for a scene in a video footage: a person can select the target scene, view it in slow motion or fast forward, even pause or zoom in to a particular detail. It is from this view that techniques to retrieve memory using hypnosis, truth serum, meditation, therapy and other similar forms come from.

On the other hand, despite the mind’s “videographic” eye, it was discovered that the mind does not have perfect archival properties, similar to a videotape that can gather mildew, lose sharpness, and age over time. The brain is also likened to a computer chip. While it may hold very large amount of information, its capacity to store data nevertheless has its limitations.

To make way for “new data,” the mind reconstructs the stored information from time to time. Thus, events may not be perfectly remembered. Over time, some elements may be lost, details may get blurry or gradually be gone. “Trigger” elements such as a song, a photograph, or a kind of smell may bring back a long-forgotten memory. Still some fragments of our past can be gone forever.

The common mistake most people make is to start talking about themselves, their experience, and their site before the "call to action" (which leads the reader to your site.)

This interrupts the flow and gets in the way of your reader going to your site.

By using the tip given above, you keep the flow going, and lead readers straight to your site, instead of ending the article, and hoping that they will read your resource box.

Remember, people don't care about who you are or what your resume looks like. Not at this point anyway. Right now, they only care about what they are getting out of the deal. Period.

So, give them what they want. Get them to your site right away and convince them to sign up to your list (or whatever your call-to-action may be.)

Of course, to make this work, your 'call to action' has to be something they just cannot pass up. As mentioned earlier on, a weak call-to-action will produce poor (or no) results.

So, make it enticing, make it seductive. Give them great value in exchange for getting their email (or other personal information.)

Warning: Do NOT promote within the body of the article. That's where you should provide solid content. The ‘call-to-action’ is the place to hit them with a powerful offer.

Whenever possible, create your own articles so that they will be unique. If you do decide to use private label content, be sure to edit and tweak it enough so that it's different from everything else out there.

And, of course, check for grammar, spelling and proper punctuation. A sloppy article that hasn't been proofread will not score well.
