Opportunity Wears A Fake Nose & Mustache

I read a great book back about 1980. Don't remember the title, but it was about luck. Why are people lucky? How does luck happen? Can a cause be pinpointed? What makes lucky people different from unlucky people?

Rabbit’s Foot, Anyone?

The author talked to a lot of people, those who considered themselves lucky and those who didn't. He'd find out what had happened in their lives, and he chronicled their incidents of luck.

And then he looked at differences & similarities of the people he'd interviewed, and he came to a conclusion.

His conclusion was a revelation to me. Luck is NOT random.

It's the result of what he called the spider web effect.

People who build webs tend to be lucky. People who don't build webs tend not to be lucky.

In other words ... the more contacts you make in life ... the more relationships you build ... the fewer bridges you burn ... the greater the universe of people who have strong positive feeling for you ... the more people you reach out to help ... the more likely you are to be lucky.

This was fascinating. The biggest conclusion for me was YOU are in control of your own luck!

How To Catch Flies

Isn't that amazing? To be lucky, just put out thin lines and thick lines ... to people here, there and everywhere.

Doesn't this make perfect sense? The more contacts you have, the more likely you'll be in the right place at the right time. In other words, when one of your contacts runs into a huge opportunity that would be perfect for you, chances are good they'll call YOU.

But if you never make that contact, you'll never hear about the opportunity.

And if you don't make spider webbing a systematic lifetime habit, chances are you'll be one of those people who suffers a lifetime of bad luck.

So build your web continuously, and you greatly increase your chance of being in the path when good things happen.

There's an old saying, "The harder I work, the luckier I get." It's true. Especially if you work at building relationships.

Linda & I have been involved in MLM since 1978, full-time since 1991. We've made lifelong friends, and we've built a good income.

Along the way, we've seen enormous change in the MLM industry.

Give Your Prospects a Puppy

But people haven't changed even the least little bit.

They still want love. They want passion in their personal lives and their professional lives. They want self-satisfaction & health, security & achievement, freedom & trust, fun & financial independence.

7 Steps To Job Search Success Give Away Rights Ebook

The first goal of any hiring manager is not to find a candidate, but to ELIMINATE unqualified candidates. Most hiring managers reading your resume will take the pile of up to 500 letters they received and try to separate the definite “no's’ (Don’t Call) into one pile and the interesting resumes into the second pile (Might Call). They then go back and eliminate again until what they have is a manageable pile (5-10 max) of pre-qualified candidates (To Call).

Getting into the second pile (Might Call) is your first goal. The first cut may take you from a stack of 500 resumes to a smaller yet still intimidating stack of 20.

At 20 resumes, the reader will spend 2-3 minutes on each resume versus just a few seconds the first time through. The objective here for the hiring manager is to take the stack of 20 down to a more manageable 5-10 resumes mentioned above.

At 5-10 resumes, the hiring manager will be spending some quality time reading what you have written. They may be highlighting and making notes about the things that interest them the most or that closely align with what they are looking for.

A few more resumes will be eliminated during this round, but not necessarily put back into the Don’t Call pile. These candidates go into the Might Call pile but will only be called if the hiring manager can’t get in touch with or come to terms with enough qualified candidates from 4-8 resumes they have left. This is the To Call pile that you want to end up in.

The hiring manager begins to make some calls and do some initial phone interviews. From here a few more people may be eliminated for a variety of reasons. Some of the people may have already taken other positions or the hiring manager does not like the candidate enough to invite him or her in for a face-to-face interview.

The hiring manager will keep doing phone interviews until they have invited 3-5 people in for a personal interview. As the realistic numbers I’ve indicate above reveal, in order to be invited in for an interview, you’ll need to have a resume and cover letter better than 495 other candidates. Notice I did not say you needed more education, better experience or more years on the job than the other people applying for the same job. You just need to have better paperwork…”you just need a better story.”

Believe it or not, there is a right day and a right time for each market – but it does vary from market to market, no matter what others may tell you. Let’s look, first, at the days that don’t work for most markets.

Mondays are possible, but not good because people have a built in mindset that makes Monday a bad day. Wednesday’s are not good because many people attend church services or other events locally. Fridays are awful because everyone just wants to relax. The weekends are bad because people want to spend time with their families or pursue their hobbies.

This leaves Tuesday’s and Thursdays as the best days to hold events, with the possibility of holding the event on a Monday – only if you must. During football season, Monday’s are not good unless your market is made up of people who don’t care anything about football. If your market is made up of baseball fans, no day of the week may be good during baseball season.

Of course, geography matters a great deal when you are determining times. Morning in the United States is evening in Japan. Even if all of your participants will be in one geographic area, in the same time zone, you have to consider people’s work schedules, or other activities that they may have scheduled at certain times during the day or the evening.

Are you seeing a pattern? When you are talking about a hundred or more people, you will never find a day and time that suits everyone. Instead, you have to figure out a date and time that suits the majority. How do you figure that out?

Well, you can guess at it, based on what you know about your market, or you can ask them – just like you asked them about the content for the event. Add another survey question to your form, and instead of telling them when the event will be held right away, ask them when they think the event should be held, and explain that you want to accommodate as many people as possible.

If for any reason you do not want to survey to find out what time works best for the majority of those who want to participate in your event, at the very least, choose to hold your event on a Tuesday or a Thursday during the evening hours, taking various time zones into account, and make a recording available to those who were registered, but unable to attend the call.

Using Content And Articles Personal Use Ebook

Make a habit of dedicating 30 minutes per week to submit your article to a few more article directories.

Or, if you are using my ArticleAnnouncer submission software, you can easily control the process while cutting this time in half (quite often, by much more than that).

You see, when I developed ArticleAnnouncer last year, I already saw all this coming. It was like a house of cards waiting to collapse. I knew that 100% automated article submission scripts and software would live a short life.

I must admit, throughout 2005, I got some slack from a handful of my ArticleAnnouncer customers asking me why my software didn’t automate the article submission process by 100%, like some other products claimed.

I gave them my honest reply (and even processed a handful of refunds as a result)... But, I stuck to my guns, didn’t cave in, and in the end, guess who’s laughing now? …me!

This is no different than what happened to search engine submission software a few years ago. Do you remember when you could buy software that would “auto-submit” your website to 3,000 different search engines with a single mouse click? Do you recall what happened next?

A handful of people ruined this for everyone else. These automated software products were being abused and submitting thousands of junk websites. Shortly thereafter, the search engines cracked down.

Today, you need to hand submit your website to the search engines. Sure, there are software tools to help speed up the process, but they are not “one-click submission” solutions like those we have seen in the past.

On a sidenote, look what recently happened with some automated blog posting and blog pinging tools. They worked great for a few months and then they became ineffective due to misuse and abuse.

Online Freelancing Resale Rights Ebook

There are two main varieties of digital products: informational products and solutions. Informational products are in the realm of writing, as we have tackled in the previous chapters. They convey information, and information is best expressed through words.

But there are problems that do not require information. These problems require solutions. An office that is having a hard time preparing its weekly payroll, for example, will require a solution for its payroll preparation woes. An online businessman who doesn’t know jack about accounting will want a solution for such a deficiency, especially during the months leading to April.

Since we’re living in a digital age, a lot of people look for digital solutions. And digital solutions can only be created through programming.

Now, of all the freelancing opportunities out there, programming is the one that requires formal education. Though people can learn several programming languages on their own, only a formal education on the matter will give them the expertise that they need to properly apply their knowledge to practical usage. Additionally, most people who are looking for programming help will demand a certificate to ascertain that you are indeed proficient with the programming language that they need.

Programming is not only about the manipulation of numerical equations in digital applications to come up with myriad solutions for a slew of problems. You need to exercise some creativity to determine the best approach to the problem. You want something that will appeal to your audience.

Also, you need to have an eye for what is functional. It’s not enough that you provide a solution. You must provide a solution that is convenient, a solution that is practical, and a solution that is the easiest one available out of all the possible options.

Chapter 12 Affiliate Programs

The secret to making an affiliate program a good passive income generator lies in how you use them. Do you remember in the earlier chapters we talked about how important solid content was? Do you also remember we discussed pre-selling as opposed to selling?

Well that is the number one secret to making affiliate programs profitable for you. You have to be very selective with the programs you use are they will bomb on you. This will end up running potential customers away!

Let us say you are doing a site on widgets. You decide you are going to do it “right” so you have pages on the history of widgets, styles of widgets and detailed pages on the proper use of widgets. Now on those detail pages you talk first about all of the general uses of widgets but then you branch off, onto other pages, where you cover specific uses of the various models of widgets.

Now let’s say that one of the models you give information about will help a car get better gas mileage. As you describe how it works and accomplish this you place a link to a supplier of this particular type of widget – with your personal recommendation.

You have given them a lot of information on the subject and talked about the potential problem. You then give a potential solution to that problem and a recommended supplier. You are NOT selling anything you are just giving people more information! Using that method people WILL click on the link to “check out” your recommendation.

If the affiliate program you just recommended is doing a proper job then they will “sell” a certain percentage of those visitors you send them. Whenever someone buys, you will then earn a “commission”. The more people that buy the more commission you can make.

You now have what appears to be a very solid foundation for your new e-book product, something that should position you perfectly in a market that is clearly extremely popular.

At this point, you basically have everything you need to launch your e-book onto the market with very little work, by simply using everything as you received it. You could, for example, start selling the book exactly as you downloaded it, using exactly the same header and footer graphics, from the same sales page, and so on.

This is exactly what quite a few other people will do too, and that is therefore likely to restrict your chances of success considerably.

It is far better if you do a little more work and use the PLR materials that you have got your hands on in the way they are supposed to be used - that is, as the basis of your own fresh, unique product.

The next thing you must do is take the PLR version of the Facebook e-book and create your unique version of it.
One piece of good news is that all products from the sites that I have already highlighted are good quality and only available in limited numbers (the paid membership sites).

This means that you will probably not need to waste time checking all the facts or statistics shown in the ‘foundation’ PLR materials that you are going to use from these paid sites, nor do you have to rewrite every single word (but be considerably more cautious using free PLR).

Having said that, what you are about to do is not original, and there will be other people doing exactly the same as you. In other words, there may be a couple of hundred people who are working with exactly the same foundation materials as you to create their own ‘make money with Facebook’ e-book products.

You may still be tempted to use the foundation PLR materials as your finished product, but doing so will be an utter waste of time. No matter how good the original materials might be, selling them ‘as is’ will never make you any money. You will only make money by offering something that is better than the products that everyone else is offering. You need to offer a product that is uniquely yours.

Secrets Of The Credit Industry PLR Ebook

Ebook Sample Content Preview:

Having trouble paying your bills? Getting dunning notices from creditors? Are your accounts being turned over to debt collectors? Are you worried about losing your home or your car?

You're not alone. Many people face a financial crisis some time in their lives. Whether the crisis is caused by personal or family illness, the loss of a job, or overspending, it can seem overwhelming. But often, it can be overcome. Your financial situation doesn't have to go from bad to worse.

If you or someone you know is in financial hot water, consider these options: realistic budgeting, credit counseling from a reputable organization, debt consolidation, or bankruptcy. Debt negotiation is yet another option. How do you know which will work best for you? It depends on your level of debt, your level of discipline, and your prospects for the future.

Self-Help Developing a Budget: The first step toward taking control of your financial situation is to do a realistic assessment of how much money you take in and how much money you spend. Start by listing your income from all sources. Then, list your "fixed" expenses those that are the same each month like mortgage payments or rent, car payments, and insurance premiums. Next, list the expenses that vary like entertainment, recreation, and clothing. Writing down all your expenses, even those that seem insignificant, is a helpful way to track your spending patterns, identify necessary expenses, and prioritize the rest. The goal is to make sure you can make ends meet on the basics: housing, food, health care, insurance, and education.

Your public library and bookstores have information about budgeting and money management techniques. In addition, computer software programs can be useful tools for developing and maintaining a budget, balancing your checkbook, and creating plans to save money and pay down your debt.

Contacting Your Creditors: Contact your creditors immediately if you're having trouble making ends meet. Tell them why it's difficult for you, and try to work out a modified payment plan that reduces your payments to a more manageable level. Don't wait until your accounts have been turned over to a debt collector. At that point, your creditors have given up on you.

Dealing with Debt Collectors: The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is the federal law that dictates how and when a debt collector may contact you. A debt collector may not call you before 8 a.m., after 9 p.m., or while you're at work if the collector knows that your employer doesn't approve of the calls. Collectors may not harass you, lie, or use unfair practices when they try to collect a debt. And they must honor a written request from you to stop further contact.

Managing Your Auto and Home Loans: Your debts can be unsecured or secured. Secured debts usually are tied to an asset, like your car for a car loan, or your house for a mortgage. If you stop making payments, lenders can repossess your car or foreclose on your house. Unsecured debts are not tied to any asset, and include most credit card debt, bills for medical care, signature loans, and debts for other types of services.
