IT should be said first that the only true scientific or synthetic stones on the market are those having the composition and properties of corundum, that is to say, the ruby and the several color varieties of sapphire, as blue, pink, yellow, and white. There is also a greenish stone that appears reddish by artificial light, which is called scientific alexandrite but which has, however, the composition and properties of the corundum gems rather than those of true alexandrite. All so-called "scientific emeralds" have proved to be either of paste of one sort or another, or else triplets having a top and a back of some inexpensive but hard stone of pale color, and a central slice of deep green[100] glass, the three pieces being cemented together so skillfully that the junctions frequently escape any but a very careful examination with a lens.

All Scientific Stones Are Corundum Gems. Now the fact that all true scientific stones are corundum gems makes their determination fairly simple on the following basis: Among the considerable number of corundum gems of nature, whether ruby or sapphire of various colors, there is seldom found one that is entirely free from defects. Almost always, even in what are regarded as fine specimens, one will easily find with a glass, defects in the crystallization. Moreover these defects are characteristic of the corundum gems.

The scientific corundum gems, however, never have these specific defects. Hence the surest and simplest way of distinguishing between the two kinds of stones is to acquaint oneself with the typical defects of natural corundum gems, and then to look for such defects in any specimen of ruby or sapphire that is in question.

While a description of some of the most common of the typical defects of rubies and sapphires is to follow, the jeweler, who may not yet be familiar with them by actual experience, owes it to himself and to his customers to acquaint himself at first hand with the natural defects of such material, which he is always in a position to do through the courtesy of representatives of houses dealing in precious stones, if he himself does not carry such material in stock.

A cardboard house, furnished with paper furniture and occupied by paper dolls, is a very good substitute for an ordinary dolls' house, and the making of it is hardly less interesting. The simplest way to make a cardboard house is to cut it all (with the exception of the partition and the roof) in one piece.

The plan given here is for a two-roomed cottage, the measurements for which can be multiplied to whatever size you like (or whatever is the utmost that your sheet of cardboard will permit). The actual model from which this plan was made (the house was built from a royal sheet of Bristol board) had a total floor measurement of 8 inches by 14. The end walls were 5 inches high, the side walls 5 inches, sloping up to 7 in the middle, and the partition was 7 inches. The roof was slightly wider than the floor, in order to make wide eaves, and as much longer as was needful not only for the eaves but also to allow for the angle.

The first thing to do is to rule the outline of the cottage. All the measurements must be most accurately made, as the slightest incorrectness will keep the house from fitting together properly. Then cut it out. When this is done, draw the windows and doors. Then lay your cardboard on a board, and run your knife along each side of the windows and the three free sides of the doors until the card is cut through. A ruler held close to the penciled line will make your knife cut straight. The bars across the windows can be made of strips of paper glued on afterward. If the doors have a tiny piece shaved off each of the cut sides, they will open and shut easily.

To make the front door open well, outward, the hinge line of the door (KK) should be half cut through on the inside. The hinge can be strengthened by gluing a narrow strip of paper or linen along it. At the three points marked H make small slits through which to put the tags, marked G, of the partition wall.

All drawing and painting must be done on both sides while the house is still flat. The doors inside will need handles and keyholes. Small pieces of mica can be glued over the windows instead of glass.

Little curtains of crinkly tissue-paper can also be made, and, if you like, the walls can easily be papered with colored paper pasted on. This will cause some delay, however, for it must be well pressed. Instead, wall-paper patterns could be painted on.

Outside—that is, on the underside of the cardboard—there is a great deal to do. Both walls and roof can be painted, and tiles, bricks, and creepers imitated. The front door should have a knocker and a letterbox, and around both the door and the windows should be imitation framework. As the upright joints of the four walls will be made of linen painted to imitate brick-work or stone-work, you need not carry the painting of the walls quite to the edges, because these will be covered by the joints. It is best to paint the joints before you stick them on.

PROCESS: Cook pepper and onion in butter five minutes. Add flour, stir until well blended and delicately browned, then add gradually stock and tomato pulp; let simmer twenty minutes. Rub through a sieve and season highly with salt, pepper, and cayenne or Tobasco. Before serving add Worcestershire, horseradish and rice.

He was in terrible darkness. Such an one is not fit to work for God, because he has besetting sins; and he has not the victory over his doubts, because he has not the victory over his sins.

None will have time or heart to work for God, who are not assured as to their own salvation. They have as much as they can attend to; and being themselves burdened with doubts, they cannot help others to carry their burdens. There is no rest, joy, or peace—no liberty, nor power—where doubts and uncertainty exist.

Now it seems as if there are three wiles of Satan against which we ought to be on our guard. In the first place he moves all his kingdom to keep us away from Christ; then he devotes himself to get us into “Doubting Castle:” but if we have, in spite of him, a clear ringing witness for the Son of God, he will do all he can to blacken our characters and belie our testimony.

Some seem to think that it is presumption not to have doubts; but doubt is very dishonoring to God. If any one were to say that they had known a person for thirty years and yet doubted him, it would not be very creditable; and when we have known God for ten, twenty or thirty years does it not reflect on His veracity to doubt Him.

Could Paul and the early Christians and martyrs have gone through what they did if they had been filled with doubts, and had not known whether they were going to heaven or to perdition after they had been burned at the stake? They must have had ASSURANCE.

Here you click on your favourite method and are ready to use the affiliate link and place it on your website.

Note: Every Company and Program is different in terms of commission they will pay etc.

Some pay you for just leading customers to their website and some will pay you a commission for product beeing sold trough your lead.

Take your time and compare the different products and advertising methods.

You can simply place a link on your site or you can choose from a variety of banners to attract the attention of your surfers.

Try out different methods and you will find out what works best for you.

Generaly banners attract more customers but a website full of banners can look „overloaded“ and might not look atractive.

I think it's better to insert just a few banners and go for text links instead.

Commission Junction is one of the biggest affiliate providers but of course not the only one.

So if you couldn't find a product that you like do a Google search for affiliate providers and have a look at their offers for you.

Don't just take the first one that pops up.

Be carefull to choose a product that best matches with your website theme.

This will make shure you will actually get customers driving traffic to your affiliate partner which will lead into sales.

Use ads that are automatically created by a program to fit your main website topic. Here the 2 best ones:

This is defenetly the most used adverising on the internet and the reason why Google got so big and wealthy.

Google AdSense is for free and you will be able to insert their ads to as many websites you have as you want.

A very cool feature is that the Ad Links will automatically be showing ads related to your website theme.

Once a custome clicks the AdSense Link on your website you made money. That's right. Google pays you money just for someone clicking on their link. The surfer does not have to buy anything. He just has to click that link. Now that is easy money!

Your Goal has to be to get as many surfers to your website as possible and to create a cool looking website that makes those visitors click the links on your site.

That's it. As easy as that.

Drive Traffic to your Website. Deliver interesting content and people will stay and click.

1. Twitter

Use the 'Twitter Tools' Wordpress plug in.

When this is installed and set up in your Wordpress blog. with your account details, notification of your new blog posts will automatically be posted on Twitter, using a bit.ly link.

2. Live Spaces

To enable auto posting to Live Space, I use the Wordpress Live Sync plugin. When this is installed and activated, you will need to go to the settings page, and enter your Live Spaces name and the secret word you used when you set up your Live Journal account.

You will get a message at the top of the screen when your settings are correct. Now every time you make a post, that post will be duplicated in your Live Spaces blog.

3. Multiply

I used another Wordpress plugin again – DJ Email Publish plugin.

To activate this plugin you will need to enable postings by email in your Multiply account, and generate your email address.

Enter this email address in your plugin activation page.

Make sure you click 'publish type' Full Text', and email encoding 'None'.

Simple as that!

4. SPN Babble

Yet another simple Wordpress plugin to install and activate, called SPN Babble.

Simply enter your SPN Babble user name and password on the plugin settings page, along with your Wordpress blog name, and you're good to go.

5. FriendFeed

To enable postings to your FriendFeed account simply go to the settings page of your FriendFeed account, and go to services.

Under the heading Blogging simply add you blog URL and your feed will be activated.

6. MyBlogLog

In your settings page simply enter your blog name and feed address to activate your linking.

7. Ping.fm

This is linked through another Wordpress plugin called PingPressfm.

You will need to create an account at Ping.fm.

When you have downloaded and activated this plugin, you will need to enter your Ping.fm API key, and create the triggers.

My tip here is to download version 2.2.6. of the PingPressfm plugin This is because the latest version 2.2.7 has some issues, but the previous version works fine so please ensure you install version 2.2.6.

Go to Triggers – select a trigger.

The drop down box will give you some options – please select Blog Entry – unlimited length.

This will allow posting to your blogging platforms in full, and to your microblogs in a shortened format.

Do not activate other triggers since this will create duplicate postings.

In your Ping.fm account set up the following accounts to enable Ping.fm to post to these accounts from Wordpress. Go to your settings page in Ping.fm, click on update settings at the bottom of this page.

Activate numbers 8-14 above, to enable blog posting via Ping.fm.

8. Xanga

9. Live journal

10. Tumblr

11. Posterous

12. Facebook

13. Blogger

14. Vox

When these accounts are enabled in Ping.fm, every time you post a new blog post it will be replicated in these accounts.

OK we are up to number 15 on the list now

We have now enabled cross posting in all the above accounts and now let us consider your microblogs.

Most people will post micro blog posts, ie 140 character posts at Twitter. However if you wish to automate your micro posts to several other micro blogging platforms here is how to do it.

Rather than creating your 'tweets' on Twitter you can tweet on Ping.fm This will mean that all your tweets get posted to all the accounts set up in Ping.fm.

So go ahead and add:-

18. YouAre

to your Pingfm account.

Now when you post directly to Ping.fm it will post your 'tweets' to every one of your accounts you have set up, ie numbers 8-18.

Finally, don't forget to add

to your Ping.fm account too so that your tweets get posted to these sites too.

When you post your Wordpress blog posts they go via Pingpressfm plugin to accounts numbered 8-14 above (1-7are posted via other plugins), 15-18 are micro blogs only so dont support full blog posts.

When you post your tweet posts directly to Ping.fm, these tweets get posted to not only 8- 14 above but also to numbers 1, 3,5, 15-18 as well.

The missing numbers are 2, Live Spaces, 4, SPN Babble, and 6, MyBlogLog. At the current time Ping.fm does not support these accounts. And that is all there is to it!
